We have not found it particularly easy to get rentals in Turkey. I think there is probably not such a big private rental market in Turkey yet as some other places, because some people are still a bit nervous about going it alone to somewhere that is not so familiar to them as Spain,Portugal etc. Our apartment is in a similar type of resort to yours I think, which is probably not one of the places that lots of potential holidaymakers will have heard of. This is our second year of renting, we don't rent to make a profit, and I think it would be quite hard to, we just want to try and cover the day to day running costs, so that it does not become a burden. Most of the people who have gone there so far, and are going this year are relatives, friends and colleagues, who don't normally pay the full rate anyway. The other rentals we have had and are booked for this year, are mostly people who know Turunc, and are specifically looking for somewhere a bit nicer than basic accommodation to stay in the resort. Which is also good for us, because we have spent a lot of time, effort and money furnishing it to a high standard for our own holidays, and we want to rent it to people who will appreciate that. Also you will find you will probably get quite a lot of enquiries but most of them don't turn into bookings. We have found that a lot of these as well are from people who know Turunc. If people are just looking for any old holiday in Turkey, and don't know the resorts, they will nearly always be able to get a cheap package, if they are not bothered about standards of accommodation. I think it has probably helped us that our website has the name Turunc in its name, which means people searching specifically for Turunc on the Internet come across it. I think it has also helped to be able to put a link on this forum to our website. Your apartment is probably in a very similar position, and type of complex, but is obviously bigger than ours, so your rental rates would be higher, but we charge from £150 - £250 per week, between May and October. I would say to anyone else reading this, it would not be sensible to buy your property, if you are relying on funding it through rentals, because you are very unlikely to be able to do so.
