I'll be in Poznan for 5 days at the beginning of January and am wondering about the currency and how much to bring.
Is it easy to exchange zloty(?) into sterling if I have money left over at the end of my trip? Or am I better to bring a small amount of cash & use CC. Is Visa OK?
Are there many ATMS to make withdrawals?
Don't really know what to expect so any advice would be appreciated about anything!
Will it be freezing? Are Polish buildings reasonably warm indoors as I'll be spending time in meetings?
We were in Krakow in September and our bank told my husband that they would exchange larger notes (20 Zl and bigger) if we brought them back. We used our Mastercard without any problems while we were there and I'm sure Visa would be the same. We saw ATMs around the city, probably not as many as we are used to here but they were there.
We were in Krakow between Christmas and New Year, last year (my report and photos are on here somewhere if you search) and it was very cold, we had more than a foot of snow fall while we were there. All the buildings, hotels and restaurants we went it were lovely and warm and the snow didn't seem to impact traffic. They are used to the cold and seem to cope very well, just take warm clothes and boots to keep yourself warm and dry if you go out.
Maybe best to bring lots of spare cash in case I can't use my visa. And obviously bring loads of layers. Looking forward to this new experience. From what I've read on the boards everyone is very positive about Poland.
