They say the main season for butterflies is mid June through to the end of September so you should be fine. It's actually quite a shady and scenic walk with or without the butterflies.

I think you're staying in Lindos? If so the easiest way of getting there is by hire car. You can take a bus into Rhodes Town and then back out to the butterflies but a car is much quicker and allows you to check out a bit more of the island.

thats great, thank you. We are planning to hire a car for probably a week so we'll plan to do that then.

The butterflies are well worth a visit just try and time it so you do not get caught up with the coach tours. :yikes

thank you! So when would be the best time of day? First thing or last I am guessing.

I am trying to remember our timing last year. Probably visited early afternoon in time to return to the accomodation for a couple of drinks before venturing out for evening meals.

So that would have put it at around 2pm-ish. Most coach trips appear to start around 9 in the morning, stop at the chosen attraction around 11. Herd them all back on again a couple of hours later and drop them off mid to late afternoon. :think
