Well, our flights are booked for early September!! :cheers
No really good deals around. B.A. have premium at around £880, didn't like their flight times coming home though so booked with Virgin and paid £891 including a few miles for Premium. Managed to get upper deck flying home too.
Now it's just that 6 month+ wait for a decent hotel deal!! :D
Excited already though

TeeCee you can't be so excited you can't sleep at 3am? :rofl

I'm not happy at all...should have booked on Friday night at £430 each, but now it's gone up to £495 so I have to wait patiently in hope that it will go back down!

Looking at early Sept too - 5-18th. We might only get one holiday this year if we move house, so decided we should do a 13 night one rather than the usual 10 or 11. There are some ok hotel deals out already, of course depending on what you're after. Are you still keen on Signature? I have seen deals for Orleans ($30 per night for some nights when I log in), and also Luxor is $38.50 I think for a good few of my nights. So the lower end deals are definitely there. Just need to decide what we will spend on hotels too though. If we have to go on a budget I'd happily just stay at the Orleans say if it means I still get to Vegas.

TeeCee posted at 2.10am not 3am. Have you changed the DST in your profile Lesley?

you're not far wrong!
I work a mixture of days and nights so often stay up really late on my days off.

I fancied City Centre if I could find a deal but to be honest, looking at the pool areas of Vdara and Aria, they don't look great for shade ie: no umbrellas available. Signature is probably our preferred option, just because it is EVERYTHING we want from a hotel in Vegas.....but it's so damned expensive, I may try VRBO this year for the first time.

Interesting to see some of the deals for MGM Grand, if you were looking to go last week in Sept. and first week in Oct this year, you could have booked 14 nights at an average of just £48 a night last week, that is excellent and better than any deal I saw for MGM last year for Sept. Typically, the prices are around $111-$132 for a week of my stay :(

If I see any deals on the City Center or Signature I'll post them in the Vegas Hotels thread. I'm sure I saw a deal for the Sig recently at $79/99 and there have been various Aria offers, but all for the next couple of months.

Well my flight price has dropped back to £453 each. Now for the dilemma.....do we go Fri 3rd to Sat 18th, or Sun 5 to Sat 18th. It's a bit tempting to just take the extra day off work (the friday) and do 15 nights instead of 13. What do you guys think. I'm sure I'm asking the right folks considering some people's length of trips on here :rofl

No question, go with the Friday departure.

Lesley,

I was planning to go on the 2nd Sept. but then noticed it's Labor Day Weekend, prices will likely be high and Vegas very busy that weekend. Hence I pushed back a bit and went for the 7th. Just something to consider ;)
Oh.....15 nights......lovely Jubbly :D

I would go with the Friday, but Friday 10th rather than the 3rd to miss Labor Day.

I would make 100% certain that the flights are available for the Sunday departure if you do decide on that as there are a lot less flights at the weekend and we had flights on a Saturday cancelled on us months after we booked them.

Also remember that the 2 extras days are Friday and Saturday so the most expensive nights in Vegas.

That said, I would still definitely go on a Friday rather than a Sunday.

Been Labor day before, and with the economy the way it is I doubt it will be too busy. Of course those 2 nights are still weekend and labor day weekend, so bit more pricey for hotel. I can get the Orleans for about $80 per night those nights.

Still not decided...

Lesley - where did you get those dollars from ? That's a much better rate than I've seen. I am off to Vegas as part of my honeymoon in April. We are staying at the Bellagio for 2 nights. It is our first time. I'm not too bothered for casino's but quite fancied a helicopter flight over the Nevada Desert and Grand Canyon and all that. I've looked for prices on the net but someone has told me it is much cheaper to book it when over there. Only thing is, does it get booked up as we're only there for 2 nights anyway. Plus do people know if it is actuall cheaper over there to book?

to new member joey tribiani, if you go to crown currency exchange website depending on what time in April you are going and you have to order minimum of £300 you could get 1.70 dollars to the pound. Hope this helps Mallin1321

to jt, you will love the bellagiio, if you have never seen it before it is amazing, we have been several times and i could just leave my husband there for hours and he would be quite happy, take all your camera gear you can and if poss go up the paris tower its a long wait but worth it,especially when they do a fountain show and you are looking down on it. Never been up in a helicopter but there are plenty available on the strip, they are very popular but don't think you will have a problem.. It took us 30 years to go to vegas and we have been every year since, if we could live there, we would.

Hello,

i was just wondering do you need a credit card to check in to a hotel in vegas? what happens if you dont have one? thanks

I think they prefer one. I do know that if you check in with a debit card, they put a large hold on the card.
