Vegetarian Food

San Antonio has hundreds of cafes and restaurants many of which serve chips with everything fast food for a mainly british clientel. there are still many gems which serve really good spanish food at extremely reasonable prices.

amongst these you'll find lots of vegetarian choice as much of the spanish diet is built around salads, pulses and fresh veg. try the rincon de pepe tapas bar in the centre of san an (it's signposted) for a whopping selection of haot and cold veggy fare.

Just be a little bit careful, Spanish people sometimes do not class ham as meat, and more rarely this also sometimes applied to fish and chicken.

My wife is veggie and she has a few times been caught out, she asked for a Vegetraian Omlettee (asked in Spainish) and it arrived with ham in it, she thought it was a mistake, but the waiter was very confused, kept saying but it is a vegetraian ommlette - he was alright with it, in the end and made a fresh ommlette, don't think he ever fully understood why.

I have never been able to get my head around it, but thats the way it is.
