It certainly has made us switch destinations
We were going to Goa in November for our anniversary (on 18th). Unfortunately we don't get back from Bali until 15th October. This would normally have been sufficient time to post off our passports for visas to HCI London.
As we have little time (4 weeks) and live on the South Coast, a journey to London in person is not an realistic option as we both also work locally.
Therefore we have opted for Bangkok and Chiang Mai in November, (Janet fancied an anniversay dinner on the Chao Phraya - so no major problem).
We are still considering India for February / March next year. We cannot make up our minds whether to get visas through an agent - it would appear that there is also a shortage of these!
Whilst we both enjoyed our last trip to Goa in Feb / March this year, we are not sure that going to India is worth the messing about.
If the Indian Govenment, represented by the HCI, are determined to make things difficult I won't lose any sleep - probably just go elsewhere...
