NO I am still going, but I must admit that hubby is a bit dubious about booking for next year!

Yes - already have visas. Will not put me off as I always get mine from London in person.

Hi all
NO :(not for the 2 holidays we have already booked but we probably will change our destination next year it will depend how easy or hard our visa is to get

Just posted mine to beat teh 10/9 deadline with Birmingham and travelling Jan for 5th visit. Unlikely to visit again unless I can get a postal visa at a reasonable cost. 2 Passports 1 £60 postal order 2 special delivery envelopes £74.75, using the normal service. I am not prepared to pay any more, when I can visit other countries for lot less money (visa cost) and hassle (to get visa).

NO - It would take a lot more than this visa fiasco to stop us going

Most definately Not I am going come what may, and have a lovely day out in London to look forward to too! :hyper :rofl

No, because I have already paid for my holiday, so I have to get a visa whatever it costs, but will seriously consider my next holiday.
I love Goa but the hassle of the visa is just not worth it. If I lived near a surgery or one of the consulates it wouldn't be a problem, but as I live in Wales I will have to use one of the visa agencies and pay whatever they charge on top of usual fees. Methinks they will all jump on the band wagon and the charges will just go up!

No as my o.h. is 50 in December and I promised him a birthday dinner at his favourite restaurant.

We keep telling ourselves that with all this visa faff we probably wont be going back again, but we will see how the visa situation progresses.

no,i managed to get our visa's from Birmingham and as we live in west wales i hope they sort the situation out for next year as it will mean a long journey or use the travel agents they recommend

It certainly has made us switch destinations

We were going to Goa in November for our anniversary (on 18th). Unfortunately we don't get back from Bali until 15th October. This would normally have been sufficient time to post off our passports for visas to HCI London.

As we have little time (4 weeks) and live on the South Coast, a journey to London in person is not an realistic option as we both also work locally.

Therefore we have opted for Bangkok and Chiang Mai in November, (Janet fancied an anniversay dinner on the Chao Phraya - so no major problem).

We are still considering India for February / March next year. We cannot make up our minds whether to get visas through an agent - it would appear that there is also a shortage of these!

Whilst we both enjoyed our last trip to Goa in Feb / March this year, we are not sure that going to India is worth the messing about.

If the Indian Govenment, represented by the HCI, are determined to make things difficult I won't lose any sleep - probably just go elsewhere...

(rant over  )

no- we are not changing our plans - its too late anyway!
Its a pity guests can not vote as we have a lot viewing the forum just now. I have a feeling that we would have a lot of yeses from them, especially if they are not yet Goa addicts.

won't chage our plans now, so NO.
but will consider very carefully whether we go again if this situation continues.

Undecided

But as I am not due to go until March 2008, I will see how things develop in the next few months.
