Definitely the Waterworld waterpark http://www.waterworldwaterpark.com it's a fabulous day out and not far from where you are.

Totally agree with Kezzabelle, well worth a visit or two..
Just back and foolishly decided to take my 7 year old grandaughter to the water-park........., ( will I never learn to act my age )
Anyway........., what a great time we had, but a word of caution to families with more than one child. It's excellent but not cheap!
Our cost was: entrance (2 adults, 1 child), = 40 cyp, plus 3cyp for a locker, plus 15cyp for food, nothing fancy just fish and chips and juice.
Makes a total of £69.00. I had intended taking her a couple of times but never thought it was going to be so expensive, oh, and we had our own car for transport.
As I said, it was fantastic but quite a bit out of the holiday budget.
Cheers,
Jinty
It sounds a lot, but it is a brill day out and compared to prices in England for a theme park or a day at the zoo, i dont think it is bad value for money.
ask for water park coupons in the hotel lobby, usually they have like 2 pounds off...
we take a day out there every year and never bore with it
Didn't mean to start a debate and I did say it was a fantastic day out, only pointing out the up-to-date cost involved
Cheers,
Jinty
So what is the current entrance price for adults & kids? Any specific ages for the kids prices?
Also be aware that they're being very strict this year on any glass bottles and any alcohol being brought in, they're searching large bags for these items.
Thanks Miss Chief. Is it the same price for adults and kids?
It's well worth the money though as you can have an absolute full day there and there's plenty to go on without getting bored. Kids love the place and it's very secure so no worries of them getting out if you let them go off alone. There are plenty of lifeguards at every ride and throughout the park, they watch very carefully and are strict but without being overbearing. I love the fact that when the wave machine comes on in the main pool every half hour (denoted by a hooter going off) the lifeguards surround the pool on all sides and also a few get in the water to ensure everyone's safety. Believe me it's a pretty strong wave machine Great fun.
They do have height restrictions on all the rides aside from the Lazy River. Also be aware that several rides require 2 or 3 people per inflatable and they're very strict on that too. I've seen a lot of kids try to get on alone or in pairs when the ride demands 3 and when they arrive at the top of the ride they're made to stand to one side until a full inflatable with 2/3 can go.
Loads of sunbeds throughout the park all with shade and plenty of places to eat. Unlike UK parks they don't inflate the food prices just because they have a captive audience, as they wont let you take your own food in then I think they're being fair on the pricing of the food and there's a wide choice to choose from.
If your planning on going during the height of summer my top tips are :
Get there early 10am ish
Take some bottles of water (not glass bottles though)
Plenty of sunscreen & slap it on regularly (I've had some of my best tans from the park, but seen plenty of burnt adults & kids alike )
Take flip flops or better still aqua shoes - The concrete ground around the park gets absolutely red hot....too hot to walk on. You can leave shoes at the bottom of every ride and then collect when you get off or as we've found invest in proper aqua/pool shoes that you can keep on all the time including on the rides. It will save all the hassle and protect your poor feet
Included in your entrance fee is a free 8x10in photograph which they don't widely advertise for some reason. But when you enter the park the main toilets and lockers are set near the gate, there's a Kodak kisok there and they should have the times up for the "next" photo session, if not ask when it is. Come back during the alloted time and get your photo taken and then you go back around 4pm to collect it free of charge
The local public bus (Eman) runs right along the coast front from Protaras and beyond and all through Ayia Napa every half hour and it's last stop is the Waterpark, so pick it up en route and save the taxi fare.
There is a good Go Kart track attached to the side of the main entrance to the park and it was £8CYP for 20 mins on the track this finishes the day of great
Enjoy and trust me you wont be disappointed, it's a great day out for the money.
How far is this away from Protaras?? We are staying at the Cavo Maris - I would love to take my oldest son there.
Also, height restrictions - does anyone know what the height is???
You could do in a car in 10 minutes using the dual carriageway & come off at the Macronissos Beach exit. Or as I said there's the Eman public bus which stops in Protaras, it would take about 40 minutes on the bus. A taxi would take about 10 minutes and cost around £12-15 CYP.
The height restrictions differ on every ride so there's no hard and fast rule, having said that I've seen tiny kids of possibly 6 or 7 allowed on just about everything including the Kamakaze ride
Has anyone else tryed the one in protaras before? like i said its not that amazing but its a nice day out!

There's absolutely no comparison between Protaras water park and Ayia Napa Waterworld. Everythings bigger and better as they would say in the USA
If you go back through this thread there was talk last year I think of the Protaras park being closed for a while due to the unclean water giving people infections I'm sure it's sorted now but I think the park is mainly aimed at very small children as oppose to adults and teenagers.
You'll love Waterworld
Can you take your own food/drink in cool boxes with you into the waterpark?
You wont get past the entrance with a cool box/bag in tow and they do search large bags too. You can take plastic bottles in but no glass and no alcohol.......they're pretty strict to be honest.
But as said before the prices for food & drink are not hugely inflated so it's not really a problem.
Does anyone know if they have any height restrictions on the waterslides at Waterworld , the reason i ask is my son who is 10 and a fantastic swimmer since he was 4 is quite small for his age (135cm) and if he is too small to go on all the slides then we may not visit the waterpark when we go to Cyprus in October. We have recently been in SE Spain and we travelled up to Aqualandia in Benidorm and he was alllowed on all of the slides there ,they have a 130 cm limit.I have emailed the waterpark direct but have not recieved a reply as of yet.
Thanks
Ian

Given that the Kamikaze is probably one of the scariest and highest slides there then I don't think you'll have an issue.
we had so much fun getting wet and wild
it was £17cyp per person to get in and £9cyp for children under 3's were free
we got £2cyp off vouchers per person from the taxi driver who took us
you can get a pizza meal for £5cyp which includes a salad fries and a large drink
taxi from protaras was £17cyp return
