Yeah yeah David, Someone here like's deleting valid post's, Suggestion here is find out who?, Why are others here allowed to post temperatures of resorts and they are allowed to do so without moderators asking questions or getting involved and or asking the poster to repeat exactly what was said on a previous post!If you want an example just ask here.

I don't know about any valid posts being deleted. A trivial exchange between you and another member was removed, as it was better suited to PM. Offensive remarks which you made about another member's standard of English were also removed.

A number of members raised concerns about the accuracy of some of the temperatures which you were quoting. That's why I asked you to state the source of those readings in each post, to try and help members decide if it was a source which they wanted to trust, or if they might prefer to consult or compare other sources. I have also asked other members to state the source of any temperatures which they might quote.

Thats fine as each and every post that I see now that has no foundation I will report to you to remove or ask them to explain where they get their source of information from. :cheers

rwb46 ... just before you posted, I had been checking 'real time' temperatures for Benidorm on various weather stations. Most indicated a temperature of 21c or 22c, but one was as low as 14c and one as high as 27c. To have such varying real time temperatures, some if not all of those weather stations are presumably inaccurate. I'm not suggesting for a moment that your 26c reading or source is incorrect, but I think this just shows how unreliable weather data can be, hence my preference to see the source of the data included in the post. Some weather stations, although stating data for Benidorm, are actually taking their readings from Alicante Airport because they don't have a station in Benidorm. Some may mention that fact further down the page in small print, others may choose to omit it.

Members who have used this forum for several years will also be aware that some weather stations may show real time reports of rain or fog in Benidorm, while live webcam views show wall to wall sunshine and busy beaches. That's why webcam links were merged with this weather topic, so that users could verify the actual situation for themselves. Weather stations may lie, but cameras rarely do. If some weather stations report real time conditions so erratically, what chance is there of accurate forecasts for the next day or next week ?

As for the digital street plays, several members have mentioned over the years how unreliable they are. Some holidaymakers walk around the resort spotting those displays and understandably think that temperatures are reliable and fluctuating accurately as the day goes on. But if they could see several of those displays at the same time, their impression of accuracy or reliability may be different. I have a video clip filmed from the rooftop of a Benidorm hotel, where I was able to zoom into 3 digital street displays at the same time. The readings on them are 9c, 17c and 28c. Obviously two of them are wrong, most likely all three of them are wrong.

So any weather data posted on these pages in good faith by members can only be as reliable as the source, and that is where the doubt and confusion often lies. Many members will have a preferred weather station which they will swear by, others will have some which they swear at. That's life !!

At the end of the day David I reported what I had seen at a weather station in Benidorm, No matter what others think of it or how accurate it really was is unimportant at least this was done in resort, The info is passed and that is that, I full well know all temperatures are taken from Airports perhaps 60 miles from a particular city which really cant be accurate for that city 60 miles away, End of my weather reports now anyway as I just dont want the hassle from others.

The weather will still be good, we're going for two weeks then.
Been several times early October and apart from 2007, always had good weather.
The first time we went at that time of year I was very surprised how lovely the weather was.
I usually take a brolly to be on the safe side and a light jacket for the evening.

Have a good time.

I was wondering...... is it warm enough now on an evening not to have to wear a jacket?

Sue :)

Hiya, yes I would say it is warm enough now to go jacket-less at night!!! It's a steamy 27 in the day (Benidorm street temperature thingys), (but as it's in the shade you can always add a few onto that!!), and about 15 at night (guesswork!!)

I returned yesterday Sue and I can guarantee that you don't need a jacket at night; well, haven't for the last fortnight. Even my wife has had bare shoulders at night and I can assure you that that doesn't happen very often! The sun and temps during the day have been fabulous.

Thanks for that Eddie, one less thing to pack then. :)

I've managed to get the kitchen sink in but might have to leave the taps behind. :rofl You'd think we were going for a month. :yikes
