For me its usually aftershave and a cheap watch to wear during the daytime whilst I'm away. Plus 3 or 4 magazines and a book (usually a autobiography) to read round the pool or at the beach :sun2

Beer if it is anytime between 11am and midnight! Otherwise I find airports are just a ripoff.

It's a bit weird but I started having a MaccyD's or BK at the airport about 5-6 years ago and it's become a habit....I don't eat them at all other than twice a year when going on hols :que

Other than that the usual mooch round the shops to get some aftershave for the holiday - got to have a new summery smell each year!

we usualy fly early morning so have our brekkie at the airport. We then have a wonder around the perfumes and normally buy one. Sometimes I also get a bottle of spirits. lastly, I buy a paperback and a couple of magazines. If I fancy some flipflops or some sandals I'll buy them too. As you say things are usually cheaper in the stores but it's part of the holiday ritual. Oh, I mustn't forget the one or two I get at the bar :cheers

Hi
We usually get early flight out, so always buy a breakfast eventhough the prices are dear, it passes a bit of time .I always have a wander around the shops like the clothes and jewellry shops, usually buy a necklace/ beads.
Buy magazines at WH Smith to read on the plane, then for some reason I take them to the apartment and they stay with us all week eventhough I have read them :que

Magazines and a paper for the plane, Clinique stuff (what I buy IS cheaper than stores), and YSL mascara.

When we go through to the departure lounge, we always go off and have a meal or a snack somewhere. After our meal my other half follows me around while I buy newspapers/magazines for the plane, one or two books for the holiday, perfume (1 to 3 bottles) and Rowntrees Fruit Pastilles. I don't have fruit pastilles often, but I do like to take them on holiday.

i'll usually have a look in WHSmiths for a book , probably an autobiography. also get some wine from duty free , NZ white tends to go down well!! will go for a drink in costa coffee, nowadays we generally go airside as late as possible, because i find it quite boring now, i manage a shop for a living, so i detest walking round shops on days off or holidays, and the missus works at the airport and can buy what she wants day to day, and it's not exactly interesting visiting your workplace when going on holiday. We do see a few people she knows and have a chat to pass away time, but to be honest i only get interested when we've reached our destination, i don't hate it or find it tedious, i'm happy and relaxed, but it's just not that exciting for me as it is for some others.

We like to fly from Blackpool and always have a beer and a sausage sandwich - any time! I don't know why they always taste better than when you are at home :think

And we also have travel sweeties, Wurthers and fruity ones. Not so much must haves but more holiday ritual! ;)

Bottle of water from boots and some chewing gum for my ears incase they pop..it really works
Maybe a bottle of perfume or lipstick
And ofcourse some choc - toffiffiees they always remind me of hoildays cos I only get them at the airport..
Maybe some brekkie cos we always go on an early flight, and ofcourse have a few glasses of wine whatever the time ... and I still have my inflight meal aswell, but not this year, we are jsut gunna have a bite to eat at the airport instead... begrudge paying for it..it should be in your holiday price..

If they pop does it produce bubbles from your ears? ;)
We tend to get to the airport and spend some time in the gamblers area with a couple of quid in the machines! Then maybe buy a paper. Usually we get a meal deal from boots and maybe a pint at the bar!

There is a Mac ds in Gatwick North but its not in departures, theres a selection of shops below check-in and its there, just take the lift or escalator down after u have checked in. :)

Perfume :D I like davidoff, and I have found it's cheaper to buy it duty free.

Me personally I hate shopping but my boys religously like to go in the duty free shop and buy a new plane for their collection (sad I know) and a bag of jelly babies for the journey ;-) .

This is not a must have but something has put the thought in my head today./ I normally fly from Manchester or northern airports, they don't have much in the way of designer shops. Am going from Heathrow tomorrow, found out there's a Links of London store and only went and had a look on their website today. If there is a chunk of money off their sweetie bracelet watches I'm not sure I will be able to resist!

Aaaargh.

When did I become a shopper?
