I stayed in Ixia 2 years ago. I don't know your accommodation but Ixia was just perfect for us. The beach is stony however and you need shoes to get into the sea. After a few yards it is sandy and pleasant to swim in. There is plenty going on in and around the resort. Rhodes town was just a taxi ride away. We stayed near there a couple of years ago and it looked Bootiful.
Take care when you cross the race track, sorry, road.
It's only a narrow beach and large pebbles or small stones.
Plenty of places to visit, but head down to Lindos or Prassonisi for sandy beaches.
Parky
