shirleyh,
hurry up then and make a decision we leave in just over 2 weeks....
Actually, was thinking about this in bed last night I might just wear my linens up to the Gatwick hotel and wear three quarter casual trousers on the plane. No doubt, I'll change my mind again
always carry something to layer. We got two seats at emergency exit which I thought was great for the extra legroom, but it was freezing. I have never been so cold on a plane and of course was wearing lightweight clothes. Fortunately I had put a shirt in my bag as a precaution but it wasn't warm enough & my sockless feet were like 2 blocks of ice by end of 4 & half hour flight
I did mention to stewardess but no change & no blankets are carried on short-haul flights now.
After our return flight from Turkey last Friday, I'd say I did mention to stewardess but no change & no blankets are carried on short-haul flights now.
Toastedmallow - we have been on flights where we have frozen, and on some where we roasted. You can never tell. I'll be wearing some lightweight denims which can be rolled up & a t shirt, on the way back I'll be wearing the same but with a cardigan. I wear sandals on my feet, but they'll be coming off this year when I'll have to wear my "sexy" flight socks for our flight to the Dominican Republic. It'll give some people a right laugh when I have to go to the toilet, with fawn socks & sandals - typical Brits abroad I'd say
At least the socks are now available in beige. When I first started to wear them a few years ago I could only get them in black, they really made a fashion statement when worn with sandals.
Mine are like a ribbed beige Judith, so when you take them off you have delightful furrows on your legs for ages afterwards
Comfortable clothes for me so usually jeans, t-shirt and trainers (or sandals if the weather permits). I haven't been abroad for a number of years so usually travel by train to any holiday destinations.
Shorts for meI know when I get to turkey it will be boiling hot, temp at night has been 82f at the lowest.
what a great thread so nice to know there are crazy people like me i've been planning for ages what to wear to the airport and i've decided on black 3/4 combats a white t shirt and a black short sleeved cardi and white flip flops plus a white hand bag and there all new even the underwear.
That sounds like what I would wear excluding the white t-shirt I always spill something down me
Well I've changed my mind yet again. I've decided to wear a dress for the first time ever I'll top it with a cropped cardi and flip flop type sandals. It will look really cool once I put on my flight socks
I plan my return journey clothing as well always has to be something white so my tan looks good. Im one of those that sits in the airport on the way home moaning because everyone elses tan looks better than mine. Its not until you get home and see everyone else that I realise my tan does look good afterall and it was worth wearing the white top
Sarah
I always wear my heaviest clothes to travel in. This year I'm opting for jeans, a vest top and a long open blouse with an elastic belt. that way I can wear my black evening shoes, which weigh a ton
Just packed my case, only the toilitries, iron, ec to go in my boyfriends case, I have 2 outfits at the ready to travel in tomorrow night. cant decide which one..decisions decisions!! oh I am excited now!!
I bet. I am sure you wll look good as you have obviously put in a bit of thought into it!
thanks suzy for all your help we will, but just looked and its rain for malaga mon, tues, and wed..not happy..xxx
I also often travel from Newcastle to London ( Gatwick flight next week ) I get free rail travel as i work on them and book the Sofitel at Gatwick ( great staff discount through superbreaks and still its cheaper than a newcastle flight ) So i often need an outfit to get to London and another for the flight the next day.
Its all part of the holiday for me. I just love to travel and i love to people watch so if im watching them im sure someone is watching me so i like to look my best lol x
Got nice denim shorts, new sort of turqouisey dressy t.shirt, silver flipflops to match my silver bag, turquoise+silver jewellery, turquoise+silver hair clasps, silver nail polish.......... or perhaps turquoisey nail polish, decisions, decisions
It will also compliment your sun tan on your return but don't think about that yet!!!!!
you are right!! yes it will contrast nicely with my silver flippies!! What was I thinking, silver flippies AND silver nail polish!! Wish I had nice feet and nice toe nails though
