Been to Rhodes - loved it!
Symi - trip from Rhodes - nice there
Santorinni - fell in love with it fantastic place can be crowded
Crete - been 3 times still not explored that much of it! stayed in Ag Nik on a £99 last min deal when i was 18 then in Rethnmon (not sure of spelling) about 6 years ago.

In a month im going on a cruise calling at Corfu, Katakolon, Athens and Santorinni - cant wait!

Kos (Kardemena) 1996 - Had a wonderful time 9/10
Crete (Ag Nik) 1997 - 6/10
Halkadiki (Hanioti) - 7/10
Crete (Reythmonon) - 5/10 Decided we don't like Crete, too big!!
Kos (kardamana) 2000 - 5/10 - Been spoilt by the many 'boom boom bars' and young drunk Brits. Still made the most of it though!
Zante (Alikes 3 times) - 8/10
Santorini (Perissa) - 10/10 - A truly wonderful island, picture post card stuff all the way!!
Lesvos (Anaxos) Sept 2005 - Yet to go!!!!

We loved Samos and give it 10 out of 10. It is truly an unspoilt island although it does have a very nice and almost new airport which makes a change for Greece.

Kefalonia scores 8 out of 10 - it is getting a little more touristy.

Zakynthos only scores 4 out of 10. It has been ruined by 'party animals'. The airport has to be the worst in Greece.

We stayed at the lovely little Ino Village Hotel on the outskirts of Samos Town - it had fantastic views down to the port and the sea.

Would go back like a shot but an accident last November has left me with a few mobility problems and the hotel was quite a distance to the town and down some very dodgy paths and steps!! When we do go back we will probably choose Pythagorio or Kokari because they are slightly flatter.

I hope you will hire a car (as we did) and explore the beautiful inland villages. The roads were fairly quiet when we were there (May 2004) so driving was not too much of a problem although Samos Town itself was quite busy with narrow streets.

I'm sure you will have a great time - we have friends out there at the moment for 3 weeks!!

Thank you Pippa, we will be hiring a car as it seems a shame to go there and not see the whole island. Don't worry about Samos Town, I've had plenty of warnings, so if I get stuck I will only have myself to blame! :lol:

ardwyn you have to hire a car as others have said the rest of the island is beautiful the only warning i would give is if your other half is as bad at map reading as mine do it yourself :lol:

Going back to kefalonia on 21st june 20th visit in 16 years not touristy at all where we go Lixouri but a lot of people find it dull
Corfu 3 times the last visit last year to Sidari definatly not for us.
Zante 2 visits both been enjoyable, Crete and Rhodes 1 visit each enjoyed Crete Rhodes too posureist for me Syros lovely but don't seem to be able to get there anymore, Alonisos once and never again Andros once loved it, Skiathos lovely if you are a beach person, Lesvos once a great holiday, Halkadiki once was not too bad Aegina enjoyed but if you are a beach person gets very crowded with lots of visitors Lefkas once again not too bad have visited Scoppalos but only for a day so cannot really comment love Greece and the people.

No one has mentioned Parga......................Great! still undiscovered by most brits( and certainly no "lads " ladettes" there! the rest of us that have found it will continue to! This year is visit 15 over 23 years. Have also visited Crete (Malia) Corfu Aegina Kos but would definitely say that Parga beats all!

Parga is still definitely the place to go. I still haven`t found a place like it yet. I am just hoping that it never gets too spoilt.

Going to Skiathos soon....Loved Amoudi and Lourdas great for a relaxing slow pace sun filled holiday.
