Just booked a 4 night break on the Isle of Wight for late August. Paid for courtosy of Tesco vouchers.

Have many lovely memories of the Isle of Wight. We used to stay in a seafront hotel in Shanklin during the mid 90's when our son was younger. Always travelled in August and always had great weather.

Last time I was in the IOW I must have been 5! (so 50 years ago) I recall we were stll using steam trains in those days. We went to Shanklin. I can't remember much about the place.
This time we have 4 nights at Warners Bembridge. It is the Father in law's 80th and they like the place so we are taking them for a break. We shall have the car so hiopefully will see a few places while we are there.

Off to Krakow on Saturday for four nights, just checked the weather and it's looking rather nice 
Well this time tomorrow I will be having a lovely glass of wine in the airport while waiting for my flight , so excited now

The more dark, cloudy, cold days we're getting, the more I'm looking forward to my holiday in August.
It's 2.40pm on a May afternoon and I'm sitting indoors with the lights on and only dark clouds to be seen throught he windows. Wouldn't mind if it was a one off, but it's been the norm for longer than I care to remember.

I haven't been to the Isle of Wight since I was a kid but I've always meant to go back. We had relatives in Portsmouth so used to go over for the day.
I'm off to the West Country on Friday for a few days. Firstly to Pinhoe in Devon for a nice long lunch with an Indian friend I was at college with donkeys' years ago and then on to Crewkerne in Somerset for my cousin's golden wedding celebrations until Monday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for decent weather.

now this is weird i use to visit the brickworks at Pinhoe and although a long way from kent i supplied most of the building materials for what was then the new primary school in Crewkerne 
29 days to a short break in Cheltenham
only 7 weeks till I go to Turkey for the first time, getting excited now and can not wait will be 21 days in the sun

Fact is stranger than fiction Wizard. My friend in Pinhoe lives with her son (a heart specialist) and d.i.l. (a paediatrician) and I saw them last at her husband's 70th birthday some years ago.
26 days for me - seems a long time away
Only 4 days before I go away but I am not getting exited as the weather forecasts are showing rain for a few days.
