You know what I have noticed looking through all various reviews on food in several countries? Its impossible to please everyone! :?Some complain its not like Britain (ie chips burgers) and others complain if theres no traditional food of the country!! In my opinion the hotels just can t win!

Hello Everyone, sorry for 'invading' your forum from the Costa Blanca, but its gone all quiet over there and I just came across this very interesting thread. I totally agree with all of you. What is the point of going abroad if all you are going to do is moan that its "not like it is back in England".......you are NOT in England!! You are in someone else's country and should accept that. If you don't like foreign food, why go on a foreign holiday? And as for complaining about TV Channels.....I've noticed that a great deal in the Hotel Reviews section, well what do you expect to get on a foriegn tv? Coronation Street? Londons Burning? You should be lucky there is a TV in your room - period, and that said, who wants a TV when you go on holiday? You might just as well stay at home at sit glued to the tube.

Most Hotels wherever you are, in whatever Country do go out of their way and try to make the UK guest feel at home, but they simply cannot provide you with what you are used to eating or watching or doing back in the UK.
Surely, you go abroad to sample 'a slice of foreign cake'. But you cannot have that cake AND eat it!

Gazza I more or less agree with you, but for sure you will not get local food in a hotel not traditional food at least, you will get chips and burgers, rent a villa or apartment hire a car and get out and about to sample the great food of Cyprus that can be found in abundance, keep the burger and chips etc (Chinese&Indians) until you get back to the mill in the UK..above all sample the food of the country you visit, you may not come by this way again...
