Hi All
Just back from our 7th holiday at Zoraida complex and a wonderful time was had by all. Weather hot but comfortable - not as hot as we expected it to be - and the flies?? - hardly any around - bothered by them on the odd day - but a fly swatter is very satisfying way of dealing with them!
Very disappointed to hear that Thomson Group are no longer going to Almeria.
We have used Portland Direct for past 5 years with NO problems Looks like we shall have to hunt around again to book our 'chill out' holiday for next year
Why oh why do we Brits moan so much when we holiday in a foreign country. I get so fed up when I hear moans and groans about:
- the weather - the food - the flies - the Spanish! - the entertainment etc etc. THEY ARE IN SPAIN for goodness sake. What do they expect
I shall be posting a report on the hotel in holiday reviews.
Only 'moan' I have is that the resort is expanding - lots of new developments, mainly at the golf course end of urbanisation. Sincerely hope they know when to STOP building before Roquetas becomes spoilt.
Happy holidays everyone
Hi Glad to hear you had a nice time. Me and my family are going to experience the wonders of Almeria next year for the first time and are very excited to hear about other people's opinions of the area. We are staying in the Mojacar area on the marina de la torre golf complex, is that the one you mentioned about the development in your post?
We stayed in Roquetas de Mar - Mojacar is about 1 hours drive away.
We did go to Mojacar for a day and it looks very nice. You should check out the previous postings and look at the Beachcomer site also.
We love Almeria - very Spanish so don't expect the usual 'Costa' bars, pubs, footie, lager louts etc.
Hope you have a great holiday
Regards
Sue
Direct Holidays are offering holidays at the Zoraida Park/Gardens during 2006 and at pretty good prices too.
Ayjay
I will have a look at Direct Holidays. Also heard that Thomas Cook will still be going there for 2006 season.
Regards
Sue
cheers
We were at the Zoraida Park last September and enjoyed our holiday there so much that we're going back again this September. But the rooms don't come with kettles or hairdryers so if you want them you'll have to bring your own.
Hope you have as good a time as we did.
