Location
You have to Que about 30 minutes for breakfast lunch and tea, nothing for kids to eat, very noisy at night, and we went in may I would hate to think what July/August would be like, they have a water park there which is great, but you have to pay for the sunbeds food and drinks there, and you can't take anything from the hotel with you as the security staff take it off you, if you have booked then very best of luck to you.

The hotel on first impressions was fantastic, as we arrived in the early ours of the morning. We had a family room facing the beach, which was lovely. Bad point was the sofa bed that my boys had to share, very uncomfortable and not big enough for 2, no matress, just board underneath, my 18 yrs old still has a bad back.
Patio door didnt shut properly, had to lift it up to lock it, fridge didnt work, the socket on the wall was shot, one wardrobe for all 4 of us, the kids lived out of their suitcases, and no drawers at all only for small makeup items. Safety deposit box was in the wardrobe attatched to some shelving was removable, (this costs 25 lev)and not refundable. Shower fixing was coming off the wall, and had a leak on the floor, but couldnt work out where it was coming from.
Hotel food was ok, sometimes not very hot, the rolls were mostly stale, but apart from that good selection. Hotel location, very close to the beach, and that was beutiful, but there was nothing near the hotel, you can catch a bus that goes on the hour but comes back every 2 hours.
Hotel staff I found were very nice, they speak only a bit of english but enough to get by, lets face it we are in their country. Cleaners are on the go all the time.
Entertainment, nothing for my liking or my kids. You had to be 6 or 7 yrs old in the day time or some one that likes putting some ones pants on your head in the evening..........that wasnt for me.
I would go back to Bulgaria, but not to this hotel. Oh and I forgot to say that the Bulgarian Playboy girls were doing a photoe shoot all week at the hotel and apparently do this every year at the hotel, nice one ladies, they get served first all the time at the bar.

Not everything that was advertised was available, one of the restaurants was closed,(Talyana) No BBQ's & no boat trips from jetty.
Food Ok, but quite repetative. (tasted better than it looked) plenty of pasta, chips, salads if you didn't fancy the Chicken, veal or pork (my daughters used to make themselves cheese on toast) There are 2 other restaurants available under the A.I.
1)The Sozopol, you have to book between 10 & 11 am of the day you wish to go (up the steps in front of the Galaxy nightclub, turn right into reception & see the person sat there to book (Bulgarian a la carte food) & it was nice to sit a have waiter service.
2) Sunshine restaurant- same re booking- walk into the villas up behind the waterpark & eventually you will find it (Dont follow signposts -they are wrong!)
There is also a coffee shop in middle of complex
(? phillodopollis)where you can get all your drinks, biscuits & ice-cream in cones during the day.
There are 2 animation teams, 7 1st choice entertainers, Nathan Luke, Carrie, Hannah very lively, great with the kids. The 'village' entertainment team also great, they put on some brilliant shows. Waterpark & beach great, saw dolphins several times. 2 other pools availabe within village.
Lazy day boat trip was very good,(but pricey(

The food, the reason I have given this a 4 is that in the 100 odd meals that myself and my family ate over the week we stopped there; only 2 meals were of a bad standard, one where the chicken hadn't been cooked and 2 the rice was cold and soggy. All other meals were of a good quality.
The accomodation, now we have 2 girls (15 & 9) and me and my partner and we were allocated a single roomed accomodation, this was no-where near big enough for a family of our size, the twin beds were fine however the bed settee was definatly more suited to a family with 2 young kids under 7 also the bed sette was majorily uncomftable.
Now the good points, from the moment you first see this hotel you think omg its lovely. You arrive to friendly staff helpfull bell boys and cleanliness.
Yes there are cleaners everywhere but there are also over 2000 guests so without these cleaners cleaning the place would look like a tip.
The food choices were good, you had a selection of about 6 main courses with veg, (always had the choice of chips) a top quality salad bar and a most excellent choice of sweets, however a note of caution, the food is good quality but can sometimes seem a little cold, (but remember its not like home where its straight from the oven to your plate) but if you so wish there is a microwave to use, but we never did and had no complaints.
The on site choices of things to do are wonderfull such that even about 3 horus before departure we didnt realise that somethings on site we didn't notice.....
The swiming pool was always clean if not a little cold at first, the beach was spotless and lovely and warm... the first choice reps on our week were everywhere so if you had an issue you could always get hold of them.. (such was the case that even when i went for a tattoo there was a rep sat in the shop waiting himself..!!!)
The whole family had a great holiday and would definatly recomment visiting this place before the whole of bulgaria becomes like Spain .

1. Location- Hotel in situated in its own grounds about 10km from Sunny Beach. For us, this was perfect as any time we travelled to Sunny Beach, we just seemed to be on "yu-gi-oh" card hunt, which becomes quite annoying after a couple of visits. Elenite very quiet compared with Sunny Beach where we were constantly watching the kids. Our boys, aged 8 & 10 had a bit of freedom in Elenite and were allowed to the shops on their own. Since the resort is so small and self-contained, there wasn`t a problem with them loosing their way. One little central "walkway" took you from The Royal Park to The Royal Bay. Several little shops and stalls located on the way selling everything from newspapers to toys to souvenirs. However, electric scooters were available for hire and you were sometimes likely to be run-over by a seven year old who couldn`t quite get the hang of the brakes. Didn`t manage to get a glimpse of the famous deer even though we spent two weeks there.
2-Cleanliness. Didn`t have a problem there on the whole. Plenty of cleaners around, sweeping and mopping all day long. A real pity that some attention wasn`t paid to any of the public area toilets. To be honest they were disgusting and rather than use them we used to take the lift up to the 7th floor and use our own bathroom. Our room was kept clean by our friendly maid who came every morning and cleaned our bathroom, gave us fresh towels and vacuumed. She even re-made all our beds even though we had already made them before leaving the room for breakfast. No complaints there.
The pool at The Royal Bay wasn`t quite as clean as it could`ve been at times but all the other pools looked spotless and the pool areas were constantly been swept and cleaned. Pools only open from 10am to 5.30pm which was a bit of a shame, especially if you had been off somewhere for the day and fancied a swim when you returned. 5.30 in the afternoon was still pretty warm and they could`ve waited till maybe 7pm before starting their chemical treatments.
3-Hotel Staff- Apart from the lady who used to come and clean our room, the lady at the bar in the village, and a couple of others we found that unless you spoke German, they couldn`t have cared less about you. As far as we were concerned, they already had our money, so why go out of their way to please? We found some of the staff extremely rude and smiling was obviously something they had yet to learn. People outside the resort we found to be extremely friendly, but then again, they didn`t have your money yet, did they? Never enough staff at the lobby bar, husband stomped away from there on several occasions due to being ignored. Not barman's fault he can`t be expected to serve everybody, stock the bar, wash the glasses etc. all on his own. Put a few of the lazy toilet attendants in there with him.
Lets tell you about the "Irish Bar" that you have to pay in. They show all the usual Sky Sports matches there. From an Irish point of view, it gives Irish Bars a really bad name. Barmen ignorant while thinking they are something truly special. Husband went in with a 50lev note and was told by the barman that he couldn`t change anything that big(25Euro) in a very abrupt manner. Barman told my husband to go outside and get change. With that Marty proceeded to turn and walk out, leaving his pint behind, when Mr. Barman (Harry Houdini) magically conjured up change from the till, some of it being in coins. Marty went to pay for his second pint with the change that Harry had given him following the purchase of pint number 1. This time Marty was told that he couldn`t pay for his pint with coins! You figure! From that day on, it was down to Sunny Beach for the matches where the pints are only half the price anyway.
4. Hotel Food-Breakfast-everything you could possibly want. Eggs, Boiled, fried, poached, scrambled with ham or cheese, bacon, ham, some sort of sausage, French toast, cereals, pastries, croissants, endless amounts of meats and salads, porridge, jams, chocolate spreads, name it, they probably had it! Cannot fault them there. Lunch - several places to eat. Pizza, kebabs, chicken, rolls and hot dogs located throughout the resort. Main restaurant had a good selection also but we preferred to leave that particular treat until evening. Dinner- Ate at the Sunshine once, however we weren`t German so even trying to get a second drink was a real ordeal, even though the table next to us just had to click their fingers and the waitress was over delivering more of this and that. They must`ve gone through the entire menu. I `don`t need to tell you their nationality! Food O.K. Ate at the Talyana one evening. B.B.Q. food quite nice, but not really suited to kids. A lot of salad and veg. Didn`t bother with the third a la carte. Main restaurant always had a reasonably good choice, you would have to be extremely fussy not to find something that suited. Trouble was, it was almost always luke warm, especially the chips for some reason. Overall, nobody starved. Desserts lovely and plenty of ice cream for the kids.
5-Entertainment-Sorry about this, Butlins in the Sun. If I hear The Mimic Man again in this lifetime, it will be too soon. Outdoor stage completely for children. If you like that type of thing good for you. My kids hated it.
Animation Hall yucky! Dropped in one evening for about 5 minutes. That was enough of that! Smelly, smoky, just looks horrible. Looks even worse during the day. Stage show on there most nights, usual holiday stuff. Zero atmosphere. Didn`t bother with any of it so cannot really comment. Went to Sunny Beach some evenings, kids happy playing pool or air hockey when we stayed in the resort.
To sum up, I wouldn`t return to Elenite again. The world`s just too big a place! Been there, done that, saw what I needed to within the first couple of hours. Two weeks was far too long but thats just my opinion. If you are the type that just likes relaxing by the pool or on the beach, having all your food available day and night and just a quiet drink in the evening then this is just the place for you.

After going to our rooms was well happy. They were quite spacious and very clean. Although our lads were three to a room one had to draw the short straw for the sofa bed. Ha-ha. Went down for a much needed breakfast and that

On arrival at the hotel in the late early hours of the morning I was amazed to be given a bag which contained a bottle of water 1 piece of fruit and a croissant, no tea or coffee facilities available!
The girls behind reception were very smartly dressed though and polite, and I must say the hotel itself was very clean. I am not a fussy eater when it comes to food but was disappointed that it was not hot enough throughout our stay unless the manager was around then everything changed.
In regards to the staff some were more friendly than others but only having 1 person behind the bar in the evening was chaotic. The First Choice entertainment team did their very best to keep everyone happy considering there are only a few of them compared to the amount of guests staying at the resort.

There was 2 adults and 3 kids in our party the only thing that let the hotel down was the fact that there was not much variety of food for the children, apart from that everything else was ok and we've just booked up for next year.

Cleaning staff smiled but very few spoke English, they cleaned every where all the time but often with very dirty mops. Toilets were disgusting & smelly.
The food was ok & a lot to chose from, we were never ill. My 8 year old son has a food phobia & eats very little, but he made friends with the chef, who was English & every night he made him a bowl of fresh hot pasta, which was great. Before you get your food please get the cutlery first otherwise your spend your time hunting for some. Dont leave your food unattended or turn away because they whip it away before you can say anything.
The deer!!!! looks nice & friendly, bless, but be aware it does attack & chase you, when he's in a bad mood apparently, so we were told! Not sure how you tell a deer is in a bad mood! no one tells you this not even the reps, so be very careful.
The beach is wonderful & an arm reach away. We went on a banana boat ride - never again, it was terrifying, my 8 year old had nightmares because he thought he was going to die. It turned over on its way back & the current/tide is very strong, even with life jackets your pulled under slightly, the driver on the boat just looked at us, my son was screaming, if it wasnt for my husband I dont know what would have happened, my 11 year old was fine, he was close to the boat & managed to get in, but my 8 year old & me were getting further away, complained but to no avail. My son still mentions it now & wont even go on a boat when we're abroad.
Entertainment is ok if you like Butlins. Same sort of thing, Grease nights & Mr Macho of Sunny beach etc oh & a few mosqitoes, didn't get me, but loved my husband, does get a bit chilly at night so wrap up.
The location of the hotel is great - very quite & everything there, icecream, pizzas, drinks all day.
Took a bus ride - now that was an experience, they cram so many people on, you cant breath, people hang on everywhere, they even left the doors open because they couldnt shut them because there was so many people on it. Very fast drivers !!!
Went to aqua park, that was great my boys loved it. Spent all day there & met loads of people. Would recommend this park to visit especially if you have kids.
Weather was fab - even when it stormed it was hot. Pool side ok, pool a little small & freezing, but we enjoyed it.
