Cleanliness: Spot on, everything was clean they are working 24/7. I would give the maids a pay rise!
Food: brilliant. the kids corner was fantastic too! The food was yummy!
Location: stunning especially the view of the sea from the balcony. Elenite is a wonderful place to visit
Staff: kind and friendly and always there to help
Entertainment: great. The kids mini disco was fun. Our daughter(8) and son(4) had a great time
Overall we had an amazing time and are thinking of booking hotel royal park next year but if not we will definitely go back

Hotel staff worked hard to clear debri. General cleanliness good, basement toilets wet and smelly.
As I had 2 sixteen year olds in party loved location, felt safe and spacious enough for them to have adequate freedom.
Hotel staff hardworking but miserable. Long queues for pizzas snacks frequently beer ran out at pool bar.breakfast was only meal enjoyed by my family. 3 other restraunts needed reservations made between 10am and 11am queued on 3 occasions but people in front booking for large parties,so to no avail. A map would of been helpful to visualise facilities avalable.
Unable to comment on entertainment as I couldn't find it. First Choice notice board said entertainment tonight here never found here yet.
Good for families with young children. First choice will be my last choice in future.
Trips reps nite out unorganised and boring not good value for money. Missed jeep safari due to rep putting wrong collection time on ticket!!!!!!!! At least we got a refund.
Aqua park at front opened although not finished you have to pay 5 levs for a sun bed. Weather very unpredictable a bit like first choice reps and entertainment team.
I wouldn't return to Bulgaria.

The Hotel was beautiful.
The staff were friendly, but, should learn a little bit of English.
The location of the Hotel was really private, which was nice.
The food was ok. I think they coped really well, considering the amount of people there. My youngest daughter struggled a bit, but, loved the free ice creams!!
For a lovely, cheap(English) meal go to Paco's. It's 2 mins from the taxi rank. Thank you Graeme and Marie. You can also get good selection of different drinks there.
As for the Entertainment...It was good for the kids, but, not much to do for adults except to drink. I took 2 16yr olds with me and they loved it. They made friends with loads of people including a lot of the staff.
We took our own cutlery because of these reviews and did not use them once as there was more cutlery in the dining hall than you knew what to do with!!!
OK, so the plates and cups were chipped.

Rooms were clean but toilets in basement and reception were hot smelly and slippery, the only time they put a sign on the floor, I fell over it, to much all inclusive I guess.
Location is perfect, but do try Sunny Beach, more like 18 to 30s club land and by the way don't take much money down there with you coz it will probably get nicked.
Entertainment good something to do all day if you wanted to,you were never hassled to join in, at the end of the day you get what you pay for and this was great value for money.

The restaurant was nice and food was good with a wide range of things to choose from. We did wait for a table on a few occasions but we were trying to seat 9 people so we expected that. I have no complaints about the food at all, we did take our own Heinz ketchup for the kids which made meal times go smoother. They had a small table for kids food which consisted of chips, burgers, fish fingers for all the fussy eating kids (like my own). During the day you can get pizza, hotdogs, kebabs and chicken from the poolside bars. The only thing I wish I had done is take a travel kettle, tea and coffee as they only serve this in the restaurant at breakfast, although you can get this day and night at the poolside bars and reception bar but be prepared to wait a while for your drinks in the evening at the reception bar as it gets very busy.
Hotel staff were very nice and pleasant and would always say hello.
I didn't go much on the First Choice reps to be honest. Wesley is a nice lad and very helpful and the kids reps were ok. Our kids enjoyed the kids club which they held in the clubroom downstairs but didn't really get involved in the outside activities with them. I wouldn't recommend the Saturday night live show that the First Choice reps do. You pay for this (quite expensive for the 9 of us) and you travel to Sunny Beach, and to be honest it was a waste of money. we were promised front row seats for the kids and ended up at the back (whilst there were mainly adults at the front with no kids) kids got quite upset cos they couldn't see but they all fell asleep anyway. The show went on for too long and got very boring.
I also want to mention the late room check out as we got very annoyed about this, because we had a very late flight home (3am) we payed to have a late checkout room as we had 5 kids between us and they could have had a little sleep before we left. In the brochure it states that you checkout on departure, well this isn't the case. You have to checkout by 6pm, which left us hanging around for 6 hours with our luggage and 5 tired children. I did complain about this to the First Choice reps and apparently this a complaint they get almost weekly. They are aware of this in the UK but obviously choose not to mention it. This is no fault of the hotels it is down to First Choice.
If you are a family with children and want a lively holiday with plenty to do this is the place for you, I wouldn't recommend if you want a very quiet holiday.
We would definitely visit this hotel again, we had a fantastic time.

Don't know about anyone else, but we go on holiday in the mindset that we've worked all year to enjoy ourselves, and just the novelty of someone else doing all the hard work, cooking, cleaning, etc, is enough to keep us happy, so, you can imagine, we were over the moon at this place.
The hotel itself and the grounds are extremely impressive, there are maps in reception, but we found no need, 15 minutes walk between Royal Park and Royal Bay easily gets you your bearings.
There are shops on site selling everything from lilos to watches - if you want to get a tattoo done try Nusho's, opposite the coffee shop, hubby and myself got one done each, excellent tattooist and very cheap. There's also an Internet room and kindergarten. We didn't really find much difference in price between here and Sunny Beach to be honest, so did most of our shopping here.
Our rooms were on the second floor, right above the upper floor of the lobby bar, and we had a wonderful sea view. Well equipped and very spacious, fridge, TV, two double beds pushed together, sofa bed, desk and chair. Bathroom well equipped with bath and power shower. We didn't have a waist level divider between our room and those next to us, which was perfect!
Food seems to be a massive bone of contention, and I can honestly say that we had no problems at all - after reading these reviews I was a little apprehensive about this, and took all sorts of medicines, all of which came back unopened, neither of us had any problems with "dicky" tummies, nobody we spoke to had problems and we certainly didn't hear anyone in adjacent rooms being ill.
One thing we did notice, that has been mentioned before, was children poking at food, or worse, sampling food, sticking their fingers into cakes and deciding they didn't like it, etc!!!!!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served in the main hall, excellent quality with lots of choice.
Breakfast consisted of fresh omelette's, cereals, porridge, large selection of meats, salads and cheeses, mountains of fruit, three types of bread roll, two types of bread, two egg dishes, bacon, gammon, grilled luncheon meat and beans.
Lunch and dinner: Two soups, three or four meat dishes, potatoes (usually chips), pasta and rice, as well as the mountains of fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese, salads, bread and cakes (you've got to try them, they're gorgeous!!!). There was also someone preparing fresh meals outside on the veranda. It would have been nice to have had tea and coffee in the main hall, but I guess I'm showing my age there, and having a nice glass of wine, or larger, certainly didn't kill us!!!!! There was a table set up especially for children, chicken nuggets, burgers, meat and cheese selection, etc, as well as an ice cream stand, which was right next to it.
Snacks are available all around the resort, chicken kebabs, pizzas, chicken sandwiches, roast chicken and hot dogs, as well as chocolate and plain biscuits and Turkish delight, these are available from mid morning - 5. Yes there is a two item limit, and thank heavens for that, I've never seen so much waste in my entire life, groups of five or six people would join a queue, get the maximum amount and leave most of what they'd just queued up for, complaining heartily the whole time, same in the canteen, good job the waiting staff and cleaners were so efficient. Remember, the main hall opens at 6.00 - 9.00, so that's only an hour to wait..there's nothing to stop you taking food back to your room, be it snacks or food from the main hall, which provided plastic plates for this purpose....or at least I hope it was!!!!
Overheard a conversation at a nearby table, as us women do, a group of young people had got "absolutely blitzed" and gone out skinny dipping in the early hours of the morning (thanks for waking us up btw!), and they were complaining about the food at breakfast the following morning......no mention of the fact that they were all suffering from serious hangovers, due to the excessive amount of alcohol drunk the night before!
There were some queues at peak times, but we adjusted our eating times accordingly, eat a little later, or earlier, and the place if practically empty. Few cups, plates etc with chips in, no big deal. Didn't once have a problem with cutlery. There were also two microwaves provided, just in case food wasn't quite hot enough, we didn't use either, found the food to be more than hot enough.
There are several restaurants you have to book on the day of dining, we tried the Talyan and Sunshine, enjoyed both of them but only ate there once just to try them out.
Drinks: Anything you could think of you could get there, vodka, whiskey, brandy, etc, as well as cordial, pops, water and tea and coffee, beware of the measures for spirits - all bar staff pour spirits exactly how you want them. Didn't find the lager to be watered down, but not being a big lager drinker it didn't take me much!
Went for a massage at the Victoria Spa, there are also several massage huts along the beach - if you're not too keen on taking your clothes off stick to the beach huts!!!!!!! Lovely experience though, definitely recommend the Turkish bath and aromatherapy massage, and very cheap.
Staff were extremely friendly and hard working, as in all cases you get back what you give, a smile and basic good manners go a long, long way....was shocked and dismayed at the complete lack of either, with people seemingly determined to complain about anything and everything, from morning to night, how the reception staff and First Choice rep kept a smile on their faces I'll never know....one lady, on our last day, spent nearly half an hour raging at the First Choice rep because there had been a power cut for a few hours, in the end she stormed off - what a waste of energy!!! Can't think of a single complaint about any of the staff, from cleaners to bar workers.
There was always something going on, can't quite understand the previous review about entertainment being non existent, from 10 pm to midnight there, kids seemed to absolutely love it. Mornings started with aerobics, water gymnastics, etc, quizzes, water polo, bowls, volley ball around dinner time and later on there were shows, mini disco, bingo (of course), beach parties.... There were also nightly shows in the Animation Hall, which had a bucking bronco thing outside for kids and adults alike. There were also inflatables on the beach for kids to play around on. There was a night club, Irish Bar, coffee shop and a sports bar, although the latter wasn't included in the AI package.
We went into Sunny Beach a few times, didn't bother with buses, never seen so many people crammed into such a small space!, there's a bus stop and taxi stand right outside the hotel, standard price seems to be 20 lev from RP to SB, 25 lev return, couldn't work out why, but hell, what's 5 lev! Loads of places to eat and drink, shops selling fake, and genuine, clothing and accessories, photo shops (retro seems to be in there!), 3d cinemas, house of horrors, etc....good experience, but, as stated, didn't find much difference on prices.
Did a visit to Nessebar, 20 lev each return from the pier, again, similar prices to resort, although the village itself is really worth a visit, can be very busy and there were quite a few gypsies about, either trying to sell stuff or begging.
The only negative thing I could say about this resort isn't in relation to the resort itself, but about the people, not the Germans or Russians, who we had no problem with, but some of the Brits. From morning through to night people were whinging and complaining about anything and everything, literally shouting and screaming at staff for, what seemed to us, petty and silly reasons. Basic good manners seemed to have been left at the door, as stated earlier, the staff here worked unbelievably hard, for what, to us, is a pittance, one of the bar workers earned about

The rooms are a different matter. The cleaner looking after the rooms were lazy, not enough towel or no towels or just hand towels. Bathroom floor was cleaned only twice and I have my doubts if it was hovered. There was cigarette ash and fag ends under the beds and also a jigsaw puzzle!( And I did tip them three times, waste of money )
The bar staff were friendly. The food was ok chicken was under cooked a lot of the time so be careful of that.
Entertainment was just like a caravan park bloody rubbish infact the place is like Butlins in Bulgaria. Drunken teenagers everywhere, children as young as 13 get served alcohol.
My wife and I went on the Bulgarian night trip which was ok. We also went on the sunset cruise which was rubbish, 3 cup of cheap fizzy plonk and a bowl of peanuts and this was termed as a romantic cruise

Only gripe I have really is the maid service. Rooms are carpeted and ours was not hoovered in the two weeks we were there-it wasn't dusted, neither was the bathroom floor or mirror cleaned. I think they assume that once you leave your room in the morning, you aren't coming back till 6.00pm-it took them that long to do the little they actually did which was only changing the towels!
Didnt't really get involved with the kids club-did our own thing really, trips to Sunny Beach three times.
We wouldn't go back but only because there is not a lot to do outside the resort-our fault for not reading up on the area before booking.

When we woke up, we decided to get our bearings to location of the different facilities the hotel had to offer, and were invited to a Welcome Meeting in the Animation Hall. To our surprise, we met a very dear friend in Deano, who was also an entertainer at the Pegasus Tropical Holiday Village in Sarigerme, Turkey last year, along with Emma Tactical, and Wayne - hi guys!! We knew instantly that we were going to have tremendous fun with them all - they were great!
There were cleaners everywhere - but not enough bar staff! Approximately, 10 cleaners were cleaning up around the pool daily, but there was often only one bartender to serve drinks - doesn't really make sense!
Our maid, Ivelina, was wonderful - she spoke a little english, and we would always exchange pleasantries, when we met.
Being 7 floors up, we were often frustrated by the lifts, which seemed to have a mind of their own - if we pressed the button to go down, the lifts would either miss us totally, by going to the 8th floor, or only going up as far as the 6th, then back down again - arrgghh! One lift even shuddered violently around the 3rd floor, on its way down, leaving our hearts in our mouths.
Now to the food and catering - well, what can I say! Big disappointment with the hot meals on offer - some, I think were not proper dishes, but ones thrown together, from the menu the day before. Breakfast time was a problem for all of us - my daughter is a very finniky eater, and often preferred to queue for ages for just one pancake, rather than sample anything hot. I never had any cereal, but she said that the milk tasted funny. Lunch was sometimes 'hit and miss' - sometimes the menu was good, othertimes bad. When we ventured down for dinner in the evenings, we often had a laugh with what would be there to greet us. We all had a bout of 'dicky tums' - might have been due to the food or a stomach bug, but we spoke to a few people who had similar problems.
A very dodgy duo (Chas 'n Dave, we called them!) would serenade us in the evening - man on keyboard, blonde woman singer! Watch out for the repeat of "A kind of Hush" night after night - don't forget to join in with the 'la la la's'!
The First Choice entertainers were absolutely brilliant - Deano, Emma, Nathan, Natasha, Tara, Wayne and Carrie. They performed some brilliant shows, including Grease, and Skool of Rock (performed the night before we went home). Deano surprised us with his singing, and we were well impressed with his performance.
Overall, we made the best of a bad situation during our holiday - the entertainments team saved the day!
We booked two day trips - the family lazy day cruise and the donkey safari. Don't bother with either! A waste of money! Both the trips offered lunch, but the quality of the food made the meals back at Royal Park look like cordon bleu. Didn't try the Sunshine Restaurant or the Barbeque Restaurant, so can't comment on those.
Getting sun loungers in the morning was a nightmare - I often resorted to getting up at 6am every day to reserve ours - you had to! Otherwise, you had to share the grass areas with bugs of all sorts, or pay 5 levs each for lounger / parasoll over the water park. There, you had to pay for your drinks, but we only stayed there for one whole day, when we first arrived.
We wouldn't go back there again, because we weren't entirely satisfied with holiday overall, but if you are going, then make the best of your time there, taking note of the above comments.
