Past reviews are very confusing as there are two parts to this Hotel. We stayed in the renovated Kristal Gardens which is attached to a very run-down original building. Guests must make sure which building they are in. The new part of the hotel is rated 3 star and is aiming for 4 star status when the second half of the hotel is renovated for next season. The hotel was lovely, very clean with a pool and tv in rooms, but there was no proper entertainment programme as they are not yet fully prepared. The food was not exciting but you could always find something to eat, this however would appear to be the same throughout Bulgaria no matter what the hotel rating, it is very much like early Spain, but if you visit early in a country's development what do you expect. The situation is ideal and the bar across the road in the other hotel went quiet after 12.00, the double glazing in the hotel cut out most of the sound.
My one and only complaint was with the music (and it is a minor complaint) but the pool bar and the foyer bar played dance type (boom, boom bass)music continually and not enough variety to cater for everyone.
Oops I forgot, you have to pay extra for beds at pool side so remember to add on. This hotel is more expensive that a lot and you will be charged even if you sit down at 4.00 pm. 5 leva per bed plus 2 for umbrella, for a couple approx.

Hi we stayed at hotel krystal and had no problems, hotel was basic but clean, staff were friendly, breakfast was good.

Allocation on arrival what do people expect? you get a cheap hol, at least you got clean sheets and towels, this hotel is being demolished so it wont be in the 2005 brochure.

I myself and family enjoyed our stay, because at the end of the day you only sleep in the room.

I have nothing to moan about.

On arrival we were just in time to get a safety deposit box, which is highly recommended to get!

Struggled with suitcases up the stairs as there was no lifts. When we entered the room we got a bit of a shock as we didn't know that it was so basic. But after the initial shock we tried to make the best of it and enjoyed our time at Sunny Beach.

Cleaning staff were friendly and kept the rooms to a good standard of cleanliness.

Food was rubbish.

On arrival i commented to my girlfreind & the freinds we had travelled with about possibly trying to move to
another hotel . Becuase of previosly mentioned reveiws reasons (ie) noise and no air conditioning etc. And yes the bar outside had plastic chairs , but the politness of the barstaff , and the comradarie of the other guests more than made up for this. The hotel is rated 2* (hence it is cheaper) if you want all the mod cons then pay that bit more . The hotel was clean and hotel staff polite and freindly . On the noise issue , if you want early queit nights then maybe this is not for you . To finish off the qaulity of food & drink & service
and entertainment throughout our 2 week stay was outstanding and very good value ( I personaly enjoyed my stay and would go again ). On a basis of finance if i could afford plusher facilities , then i would go 3* or higher ) but if not then Hotel Krystal Here I Come:)

We booked via Teletext on an AOA basis - never again! We were on the ground floor opposite 2 x 24 hour bars and a block away from an all night disco. The noise was horrendous - 3 hours sleep the first night (and me in tears), about 4 - 5 hours sleep the next - after complaining to the night receptionist about the noise - she appeared too busy playing solitaire on the computer to really want to bother and only 1 1/2 hours sleep the third night (plus more tears from me) - we had decided to cut short our holiday because of the noise. The brochure states that the hotel was recently renovated - I reckon at the start of the communist era was the last time that hotel was touched!

I cannot believe that there is no comment on this so-called hotel.we went on aoa and it was the first and last time for us, I believe Balkan holidays put all the aoa in this dump so you will ask to be upgraded and make more money out of you. The building alone was disgusting, probably been built in the 1950,s and never seen modernisation since then, the front was overgrown with weeds and mud, with a few scruffy plastic tables and chairs, probably the last new thing this hotel has seen. Outside the front is two 24hour bars only feet from peoples bedrooms,I lost count of the people who we spoke to who were getting little or no sleep because of this, some elderly and others with small children, all the tour rep was telling them was that there was no other accomodation available and basically because they came aoa they would have to put up with it. People were even getting early flights home because of the lack of sleep.the rooms were very basic and falling to bits, but the maids did keep them spotless. I would go back to sunny beach, but not this hotel.
