Location
Loved the endless cocktails on the beach together with the seemingly endless sun.
Beach area can be a little crowded but even we didn't seem to mind this, and that a first as we do not like crowds.
Journey to and from the hotel from Punta Cana airport is tedious (2hrs+) So go via La Romana airport if possible.
One last comment take plenty of US Dollars as the hotel are more than reluctant to sell you them, in fact I bought some from another guest, so to get enough for the outrageous 20 Dollar Each departure tax, and Oh the 10 Dollar Each arrival tax. No they will not take their own currency (Peso).
Generally though a fantastic holiday.

The food selection is superb, something for everyone. There are a choice of themed eating place, from Seafood to Italian and through to buffet style eaterie which is The World Cafe. Each night has a theme for the buffet, such as Mexican, American etc. We love the variety and there are always ample selections of fresh fruit at every meal. Lovely. Service within the restaurants is second to none, more often than not when you have finished your drink another is on its way with a smile.
The location of the hotel is beautiful, personally I would prefer a slighty shorter ride from the airport after such a long flight as it is around 1 hour 40 to 1 hour 50 minutes long. But we are so taken with the hotel that we make the journey.
Hotel staff are always cheerful, a pleasure to be around and have a fantastic sense of humour!. Especially Pablo Picasso and Pikachu.
The entertainment staff are a real hoot and there are great activities to participate in such as Spanish lessons and towel swan making competitions.
We will return again next year.

We would possibly visit this hotel again as I think after the rennovations are completed any small problems will be ironed out and none of these things were enough to put us off anyway.

Weather was fab and a spot of rain was welcome.
we went with our 20month old and he loved it on the beach. I felt safe with him and he staff were so taken to him that they were like family in the end.
Dont miss out on Friday noght fish n chips and champagne on the pier for all the brits (and anyone really) and the managers dinner is always a hit with endless champagne to toast, with a few bottles given to take to your rom for other nights when you are struggling for what to drink at the excellent freshly made cocktails bar.
Asia restaurant isnt the best but after 2 weeks it is nice to have an empty restaurant and the food is def average-def reccomend you give it a go. The italian is def the best. Its so unusual in an all inc to have a beeper given to you while you stroll on the beach and get told when your table will be ready. So refreshing. The new big pool was just opening last dec when we went(u shud have been at that party! lol) so it was good to see it in full swing-massive and perfectly placed. THe grounds are kept well and all staff are mega friendly. Went to saona-well worh it and the safari truck was good on our first trip but def not for babies of ours age.
Rep always avail and doctor was excellent when our son got ill (not from food!) He even waved the charge as i had been seen by him for a bad tgroat the week before that i had brought with me. It was amazing to be given medicene that works instantly with the baby as opposed to what its like at home when u get told all the time "its not on his chest so just wait".
I would reccomend this to anyone and we have seen a good few weddings there now so setting up the big day for next december as the grounds are so nice!
dont miss out on the beach party and the fresh seafood, the lobster bar was good too and we once had a a romantic meal on the pier- u get ur own waiter and iits at sunset-soooo nice, half way through it rained so we were given the rest of our mael inside and told we could have another go tommorow which was so generous and perfect.
There is a secret jacuzzi which yiu shoiuld try find, its lovely at sunset and never anyone there cos they dont know about it.
Dont miss out on the best fillet steak which is served in the restaurant bar next to the entertainment and the pizza guy at the bar will make you anything-even fresh garlic pizza in the middle of the day when youv had a few too any rums with friends at the bar when youv had enough sun. The constant supply of hot nachos at all the bars with the lovely salsa and hot cheese was also a winner with a few beers mid afternoon.
Def the best hotel in the dom rep. cant rate itb enough.

The hotel was beautiful and clean.
The food was excellent, particularly in the world cafe buffet. We also had lobster one night which was delicious.
The staff were amazing. Tip them a few dollars here and there, they really deserve it. We loved Ramon and Johan at the pool bar.
The entertainment team were also brilliant. We had such a great time that we will definitely return as soon as we can. A couple of things to remember - Don't buy alcohol in the resort to bring home as they will take it from you at the airport. Buy it when you are through to departures. Also remember when you arrive they want a 10 dollar charge when you enter the country and 20 dollars when you leave. I don't know why but no one tells you this.

we were 3 adults 1 child age 8.
Flew from Manchester to the la Romera airport so fast transfer.
We got rooms in block 3 with king size beds which we asked for.
We found the hotel to be good.
We have stayed in worse and much better hotals but I enjoyed this holiday , did have a problem with check out said I had not paid for the safe which I had when iIgot the key, they wanted me to pay but because I had paid already I said no, so they took my word for it.
Enjoyed the snorkeling ,many many fish if you swin 200 metres from beach out and its still shallow, but from day 2 till day 9 the sea was not that clear due to the storm passing south of us, but when it cleared up it was great very very clean water. Fish took food from hand. Could not get out of the sea at times it was that good on days.
Drink was good, the fridge was great where they topped up , beer , juice, rum, coca cola, and bottled water each day. Food was good apart from the asia went there one night food was poor and while in there we saw a large frog , instead of puting it in a box they got a broom and killed it in front of us, guts everywhere. Was funny a little though the way they di it, something out of Faulty towers.
Did have a little stomach problems mostly last few days of holiday but did not spoil anything, which there is a good chance of getting anyway on long haul holidays..http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/tmp-pmv/2001/gastro_e.html. Also seemed to be lots of files around in the first week which were a pain.
Weather was mostly great did have some rain( once for most of the day other times just afternoon showers we found the weather best the last few days where it was sunny with little cloud, think temps were around 32c and sticky)
Kids seem to really enjoy this place ours did not want to leave.
Beach was good, better on the trip we did though. Sometimes not as good as other days depending on waves etc and if it had rained water was nice and blue.
Locals were ok with me, very friendy and waved a lot. Staff were also good.
We saw many fish , birds , butterflies, crabs , all around the hotel which was cool.
Shows at night were poor, the M Jackson show is rubbish you can hear the music but hardly the singer but his dancing is good. Could do with the people singing to improve and the sound system to improve. They really dont have the evening shows like they do in Europe but they try pretty they are just so no good at it.
We did a few trips the Salona island tour which was very good and the safari tour which was well worth the money. They took you to where Rambo was filmed, a house(shows the way they live but boy they seemed to have many animals for such a poor family), the beach and a large town good trip all round.
Bad point was you could not really go anywhere outside the resort by foot so you were mostly stuck in the hotel you could go to the small village but not much there( would have been better if you could have gone into some hotels nearby , but there were none within walking distance.
I would say this is a relaxing holiday which can get boring for some but not for others.
Also the shop is a rip off, if prices were cheaper it would be used a lot more,
