Hi Everyone!
We have been to this resort 3 times and are returning for our 4th time this January. We have been to other countries and visited other resorts but we keep going back to the Casa Marina Beach/Reef.
Hotel Cleanliness:
Very clean for a 3 1/2*. The rooms were cleaned every day by the friendly maid service. The beds, at times, were something to be desired but all in all, we were very happy.
Hotel Food:
I can start by saying that we didn't starve. There was always a wide variety of different dishes to try. Tons of fresh fruit and salad. Lots of pasta. I did find somethings rather greasy but for the most part, we have no complaints!
Hotel Location:
Your right on the beach! Who could ask for more? The small town of Sosua was right out the front door of the reception area. Internet and the Codetel company (telephone) was about a 2 min walk from the resort. Bank machines are a 5 min walk from the resort as well. If
I'm not mistaken, Scotia Bank is one of the banks that is available. Mel Tours was the tour company we booked all of our tours through, even though the resort rep and the hotel want you to book through them, you will not be disapointed with Mel's Tours. Mel's tours is much cheaper then the resort prices too.
We have done the Jungle Tour, Water Fall tour (3 times), Bacardi Island, and many others. Cabarete is only a 20 min bus ride away. We travelled most of the time on the bus and only took a taxi once as we wanted to experience the true Dominican life.
Just a note, when you go to Sosua public beach, the vendors there selling all the trinkets that you might want to purchase to bring home but...if you go to Cabarete, there is a Liquidation store (sort of in the middle of the small town) on the right hand side, that sells everything and for probably the lowest price you will find anywhere.
You are also better off buying your rum and vanilla at the local liquor store which is only about a 10 block walk from the Casa Marina Reef.
Hotel Staff:
The staff are always singing and dancing and laughing. They were all very friendly and always ready to help with anything.
Entertainment:
The evening shows are wonderful. Alot of time and effort has been put into each show. Since we've been there several times, we have seen all of the evening shows. I hope this year, we'll see something different.
Would we visit this Hotel again:
Of course...as I mentioned earlier, it's been the best resort I/we have ever stayed in!

Hotel was great it was clean and the restaurants served nice food.
The pool was clean and the beach is only a stroll away. This holiday is ideal for people who want to relax for a week or two its not party central but we made some friends there so we had our own parties.
We had fun in Hemingway's which is close to the jack tar village its an American type diner/pub the staff are friendly and the drinks were a reasonable price.
We did karaoke with the lads and girls we met it was a good night. This is a good hotel and great value for money.

We really loved this hotel and destination, rooms are clean grounds are clean food is good, entertainment on every night its a 5 minute walk into Sosua, though you will get hassled by locals to try and get you in to there bars etc.
They advertise reef and beach as separate hotels but when you are there the grounds merge into one and you just walk into any of the restraunts, the mexican is fantastic, buffet restraunts have a huge choice I took a flask as theres no fridge in rooms and you really need it for cold water etc to keep in your room.
We met some great people there everyone so friendly.
