Resort was lovely, lots of building work but doesn't really bother you. Usual array of bars & restaruants to choose from, beach was nice, not quite as nice as Nissi Beach/Fig Tree bay but we preferred it as it was not that busy and the kids were safe there.

Protaras itself is our favourite place especially "Fig Tree Bay", the people are so friendly. Don't forget to visit "Cheers" pub for a great atmosphere.

Situated less than a 10 minute taxi drive from Protaras (the beautiful beach of Fig Tree Bay), the resort of Pernera is a small fishing town, with picturesque views out to sea. The town (inland) has a good selection of bars and restaurants, predominantly British.
Knights Pub and Windmill Bar offer the usual karokee and tribute acts together with all Sky sports coverage on large screens.

Protaras and Pernera are lovely, clean and well equipped resorts suitable for a wide age group. We found the best place to eat was opened in May this year by a British couple (Stewart & Emma)and it is called Majito Bar & Grill. The menu is varied, freshly cooked, home made and generous portions. The owners and staff alike are very friendly, helpful and will cater for all your dietery requirements, even poviding a take away service which is ideal for early morning airort transfers. The Steak House on the corner was also a good place to eat traditional Greek meals. Station pub is a place where many people tend to meet before or after going out for the evening.

Lots of special tribute nights all around the resort. The beaches are very clean and tidy, lots of water sports. If you get a chance enjoy a trip on "The Shirley Valentine" its a trip not to be missed. Will visit again.

The resort and beach was very clean.
The beach was across the road from the Anais Bay hotel and
there were ample sun beds and umbrellas to be found. There are a few bays within walking distance.
Ample restaurants and bars in Penera although we prefer the
ones playing cypriot music fas opposed to listening to
pop all night - both are there if you look.
We have been to this area of Cyprus 4 times now and
definitely prefer it to thye busier town ow Protaras.

Pernera is a lovely little resort approximately 15 minute walk out of Protaras - less commercialized than Protaras but with plenty of decent restaurants and entertainment if you want it although it is karoake, Elvis etc. Good beaches with lovely clear warm sea. If you don't want the entertainment you can while away your night having a meze in one of the many restaurants. Good restaurants are La Cultura De Gusta, Sizzlers (for steaks), The Fresh House, Jolly Waiter and The Onassis (which is an undiscovered gem to most of the tourists - small typical Cypriot taverna) on the road to Paralimni Paralimni is a 15/20 minute drive away as it Ayia Napa. Regular bus service costing about £1GBP which takes you to Paralamni, Protaras & Ayia Napa. Good resort for families, couples or retirees.
