Group of 14 of us just returned from Rising Star. Apartments are really nice. Very clean. Everything brand new. Toaster and hairdryer's in rooms. (don't need to take plug adaptor's because they have 3 pin plugs like ours.
We had a room that didn't look out onto the pool but this was nice because we got the evening sun on our balcony. Sister had pool view and said that there balcony was too hot to sit on during the day and they didn't get the evening sun, so don't be disappointed if you arrive and have been allocated rooms overlooking the fields at the back.
Only minus point is that there wasn't much storage space for clothes in the 1 bedroomed apartment.
Pool area and bars lovely. Can't fault it. Had a really enjoyable stay. Booked again for next year!!!!

This hotel is by far the best I have ever stayed in!! The fridge is a bit of a pian, but not that bad!! We arrived during the night and went up to out room which was fantastic!! We were in room 404 (in the new block) which was huge with an enormous balcony!!! The staff of the hotel are great, made you feel at home!!! Entertainment was good too, you'll know the Cartoon Heroes song off by heart by the time you leave and the dance to go with it!!! The beach right by the Hotel was a little rocky, but they put sand on it towards the end of our saty!! Great for Scuba Diving!!! I would not hesitate to go back to the Rising Star and are looking to go again!! We had a taxi into Agia Napa which cost

The food was lovely, the rooms and actual hotel very clean, tidy and comfortable.
The entertainment was brilliant. Especially the mini disco - Kerrie, Judith and Maggie.

The rising star hotel is fantastic so good that we are going back in a weeks time, we had a fantastic holiday and can't wait to go again.

I had a 3 bed studio (2 beds, 1 sofa bed), with a pool\sea view, the room was OK for 2 but I would not of liked to sleep 3, there is no seperation between the kitchen and sleeping areas.
The apartment was clean, and all shiney and new, well equipped, everytime u opened the fridge it played a stupid song so you would not leave it open, the walls are thin so when one of your neighbours open there fridge you can hear that bloody song!
The pool area is nice, water was cold, pool bar fine.
The entertainment is run by airtours, i did not watch anything so the 3 is just a guess.
The rooms are not avaible for late check though.
The apartments are my travel exclusive, and for the price i don't think you can do any better really.

What great apartments, The four of us (all adults) stayed in a one bedroom apartment. Spectacular see views from most rooms, The apartments were cleaned 6 days out of 7. The fridges do sing, but I couldn't here the next doors fridge. Can always turn it off at the switch before opening but don't forget to turn it back on. Excellent pool 1.5 mtrs at deep end with shallow walk in at the other, separate toddlers pool, and jacuzzi. Also indoor pool and gym (but at cost) daytime and evening entertainment from Airtours reps. poolside bar does excellent food and not expensive, nothing was too much for the staff to help. Didn't eat in the restaurant in the evenings but the menu did look good. The location is excellent within 50 yards of pool across a piece of grass and your on the beach. I would recommend these apartments and their location to anybody of any age. I want to go back. Met some great people.

Hotel is brand new and opened in March 2004. The Hotel is exclusive the the MyTravel Group so you will have to travel with Direct Holidays/Airtours or Panorama. Most rooms have sea view and all rooms are very clean and everything is new as the Hotel has just opened. The pool is nice also. The day time entertainment is Airtours kids entertainers which I found a bit annoying at times as the shout over the mike non stop all day. But dont let that put you off the beach is 10 seconds walk. Watch out for the singing fridges !!!!

Everyone has basically said it about these new apartments. They are very good- clean, helpful staff and in an excellent location.
However, I was misled with the exact location, the brochure says "situated along Fig Tree Bay", which they aren't. Although not very far away. For those who know Protaras they are situated on the beach past the Vrissiana Beach Hotel and Constantine the Great(can't quite remember the exact name of that one).
The beach which is on your doorstep is rocky and you have to walk along to the better part. If you are on the main drag, you turn down towards the beach just before MacDonalds.
The rooms mostly have a sea view, old and new block. The bonus which may be there for some of you sun worshippers(Like me) is that if you get a room without the view of the pool/beach then you will have a nice sunny balcony to sit on at night with a bottle of the local. I would have preferred one of those rooms.
The My Travel entertainment is very family orientated - I don't think I would have enjoyed it so much in high season.
We were in the renovated block which was fine, one scary point was a light switch situated inside the bath/shower area. I would have been asking questions about it had we had any children with us.
All in all, good value for money and yes the Singing Fridge drove me mad.

I would agree with the comments above, apart from the entertainment. It may have been good but it did get a bit annoying sometimes when over the loudspeaker they kept plugging the restaurant and theme nights.
Also how many times do you need to announce french bowls on the beach in a camp voice!
Also they had football scratch cards and they would announce that they only needed 3 more people to finish it - so 3 more people would jump up in order to finish it and shut them up - and lo and behold 30 minutes later they would bring out another bloody scratch card!
However not to be all negative everything else was fantastic and deserves the full 5 stars - even the food - although we went SC we often ate lunch at the restaurant and each time it was excellent.

Rising Star was excellent. Immaculately presented, in good location. However, the location in the brochure is misleading as it indicates that it is next to Capo Bay Hotel.
Hotel staff were generally great but I marked them a little lower as they appeared totally disinterested in our request to keep the room til late afternoon. With two children under 2 and a 4 yr old, this would have been a big bonus for us.
Our kids thought the entertainment was great - and it was.....for kids!
I would stay here again in a flash. If I can work out how to do it, I will post some pictures.
One more thing. Our room was on the far side (away from pool and fig tree bay). I would take this side over the other. Good late pm sunshine and very quiet with views to sea and across melon fields.
