Wow, what a hotel. we went on our Honeymoon and had a fantastic time.

The hotel was superb and after many trips to Cyprus this was the best.

Booked to return next year and would recomend to anyone wanting a good quality and friendly hotel.

An excellent place to stay - everything new and clean. We had a 4th floor room in standalone block with a lovely sea view. Floors in other block overlooking pool where our relations stayed were carpeted. Lift in our block a bit dodgy - my husband was stuck in it for 30 minutes one evening! Plenty of sunbeds - had to reserve them by about 9. 30 if wanted grass overlooking beach which was idyllic but beds were available by pool until 11am. The kids made lots of friends and loved the pool. Most hotel staff were very helpful and friendly especially cleaners and waiters/waitresses but 1 or 2 of the male management were slightly officious! Entertainment good for kids and I liked the aquacise but did not enjoy listening to reps singing - one night turned up for a quiz but was cancelled without being announced and had to endure a terrible karoke with Matt and Tammy. Air conditioning is charged separately for each room and we found the children were cold so management gave us a refund on 1 room - my husband and I found air conditioning essential for our room.Would recommend these apartments.

This year we went with friends but as my family were there last year we saw the Rising Star being built so we decided to book up to go this year and invited 3 of our friends. When we got there we were not disappointed at all the accommodation was fantastic, we stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was at the front of the building overlooking the fields but we have had this view before and we didn

We were a bit worried when we booked this holiday last year as the apts had not been built. We could'nt believe our luck when we got there. We had an apartment overlooking the pool and Fig Tree Bay. The view was brilliant. The apartment was very clean and although not very big was more than adequate for a family of 4. The location is perfect, not too far away from the main centre but far away enough to enjoy peace and quiet. The food at the pool bar is really good and reasonably priced. The BBQ and Cypriot Nights are excellent value for money. The staff were all really friendly, some bar staff were a little abrupt with the kids but I think this was more a language problem than anything else. The entertainment staff worked extremely hard (although I have to say the football cards got a bit tiresome everyday). The kids loved the disco and all the different songs played / danced to every night - especially 'cartoon heroes'. The singing fridges were no big deal they did not bother us at all. The sunbeds were plentiful but the best positioned ones were always reserved - one evening at 12.00!!! Although have to say a couple of days after this the management removed all towels reserving sunbeds before 9am. The outdoor pool was perfect, but please beware of the indoor pool - a few kids had ear infections (including my son) after using this pool.

This was our 4th time back to Protaras, and couldnt have been more delighted with the Rising Star. The hotel reception staff were very helpful although I felt the bar staff were sometimes a little abrupt with my two teenagers.

I dont think you could find a better location anywhere in Protaras, our room was on the 4th floor overlooking the pool and of course Fig Tree Bay. Views were excellent both day and night.

The entertainment staff tried really hard and the little ones thought it was great, my teenagers and there friends joined in with the water polo and pool competitions.

The hotel is situated in the heart of Protaras, so I felt quite at ease with my 15 yrs olds having a bit of freedom, they would wander off and look round the shops and other hotels.

The rising star apartments are set in a perfect location overlooking fig Tree Bay. The hotel has been finished to a very high standard. The outside bar was a very relaxing place to sip a cocktail and watch the sunset.Entertainment was provided every night, however there are a number of bars close by. This is an exellent hotel and I would love to go again

it was an exellant hotel, the singing fridge was very funny, the entertainers Neil,Matt,Ally and Tammy were very friendy so were the bar staff, the mini disco had new songs like Mimicman 2 and Purple People Eater which were both good. the pool was warm and relaxing but while we were there they had closed the bridge off,not too far down the road there is a mcdonalds and an italian.

at the hotel they do have a telly in reception which shows football matches an results. If you want the telly on in your room you have to pay around

We have just returned from the Rising Star - asked for a high room but were allocated to the 2nd floor, at the beginning we were diappointed that we had not got a pool view but as the holiday progressed we were glad as the pool view rooms got the sun all day and were unbearably hot.

We looked over a field of tomatoes, aubergines and peppers and a farmhouse effort where there was a lovely family with numerous children who spent all day laughting and playing football, volleyball and all manner of games - not a computer game or playstation in sight - they appeared to be really happy, we could also see the sea and could watch the boat trips coming and going.
The room was fantastic, two ring hob, oven, grill and 4 of everything, cups, plates, cutlery etc, toaster & hairdryer also provided.

All brand spanking new - so new in fact our oven had not been connected - reported this to reception and it was connected by the maintenance man within hours.

Beds are brand new comfy divans and the rooms were cleaned almost every day although not Sunday's. Our room had 2 armchairs, and a settee which folded down into an additional bed and a glass topped breakfast bar with 4 chairs.

Nice bathroom with bath & shower. Oh almost forgot about the singing fridge - novelty at the beginning but got on our nerves after about 2 days - we had taken some tape with us in our emergency kit so my husband taped up the button that activated the light within the fridge - silence, he then didn't know when I was going in for another glass of vino!!! Take some tape with you it's worth it.
Another tip take a tea towel - they don't provide one and it lets you dry the dishes right away rather than letting them drip dry.

Location is ideal right by the beach and the pool is spacious, plenty of sun loungers right down to the grassy area near the beach and never a rush to get one we managed right up to early afternoon most days.

Pool bar good - daily announcements where the local beer would be reduced by 30% for between 30 & 60 minutes in the afternoon. Entertainment fantastic only if you are or have a mental age of between 3 & 6 years old other than that it is a wash out - entertainment staff try hard but they just don't have it - kids loved it - you will know the Cartoon Heros theme tune off by heart and will also be able to complete the accompanying dance.
Listen out for Deano the entertainer he is a dead ringer for Frank Spencer when making announcements over the tannoy. Scratch cards get a bit boring after a while, sell 40 teams and you can win
