Just returned from here, travelled with my parents.
Hotel extremely clean, we had a one bedroom apartment on the 4th floor with was clean and spacious. We were overlooking some crop fields but still had a side sea view.
This side of the hotel was cool in the evenings so nice to sit out after being in the sun all day. Well equipped for self-catering, although we ate out every night. Hair dryers in all rooms.
We were over the area where the bins are collected but after a few nights didn't really bother us, we just closed the window! Didn't use air-condioning or TV which have to be paid for.
Only ate in the hotel ones or twice, food reasonably priced and quality good. Staff were really friendly, got on particulary well with Mike and George on the balcony bar in the evenings. All staff spoke excellent English.
Plenty of sunbeds, we were going down to the pool area about 10.30 and still beds available in certain areas. Location of hotel perfect, just off the beach, some clear waters right on the edge of the hotel for snorkelling. Close to some excellent restaurants and supermarkets, items here not overpriced and a good choice available. Entertainment team very friendly,all British with Ben, Julie and Becca who had just arrived keeping us busy both day and night.
Entertainment in the day was good, can't comment on the evening entertainment as we went out everynight. The Rising Star Pub is just 2 minutes walk away, with Jimmy and the hotels entertainment team hosting there. Again Staff here very friendly, especially Kamilla. Kareoke every night, which could get a bit tedious, but also played Bingo and also try not to miss the Cypriot dancers and in International dancing nights, excellent entertainment.
Booked again for next June.

Stayed in a studio apartment with a friend,approx 25 of us were dotted around the complex.
View over pool and beaches were brilliant.Clean apartment,no singing fridge though! Sunrise from the 3rd floor balcony (that overlooks the pool)is wonderful.
Very short walk to the main road where the main entertainment is. Staff very friendly,especially George and Michael Schumacher from the top bar,Costi and cousin Adi from the pool bar.
Receptionists are also very accommodating and speak good english!!Will definately be going back.

We were sc but upgraded to half board for 6days and we found the food and service excellent.
The hotel staff, Solita,Costa and his cousin were so helpful. The entertainment staff becka, ben and julie really did their best with all the kids.
Usually my children will not go in kids clubs but they followed them all over. The reception staff were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The cleaning staff were like little ants all over the hotel scrubbing walls and floors. The location of the hotel is excellant it is right on the beach and you just walk out the back and you were on a lovely quiet strip of restaurants and shops.

The rooms were a very good size and were very clean.
We had travelled self catering, but the food in the hotel was very nice.
The location of the hotel was very good and only a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants.
The entertainment was entertaining.
I would definitely visit again.

We have just returned from Cyprus after staying at the Rising Star Apartments in Protaras.
A++++ and would definitley reccomend them to any of my friends wanting a well priced self catering holiday. The apartments were extremley clean and the maids were in every other day to clean, make the bed and replace the towels.
Cooking facilities were good and there were plenty of utensils etc.
The food at the hotel was good as was the hotel owned Yianna Marie restaurant.
Only a short walk from the beach and the resort centre.
Will more than likely return soon.

Stayed in an apartment in the new block. Room was spacious with large living room and decent balcony.
Excellent locations in terms of being right on the beach as well as a lovely pool. Staff friendly.
Did not get involved with the entertainment but did order lunch which was ok.
However the noise in this hotel is an issue - a number of other holiday makers were also complaining. Bins being emptied outside room at 4 am. You can hear everything from other rooms and also seemed to be sitting on top of a generator - unable to gain a move as hotel full so beware and bring your ear plugs .

This was our first visit to cyprus and we were very impressed by the standards of the rising star, the hotel is a 3a however we feel it should be a 5a.
Hotel very clean and tidy excellent decor. Food was to a very high standard lots of choice and variety, on a tuesday they do an excellent greek night also on a Saturday they have a bbq night with a fire show which is fantastic.
Brillant location right on the beach also has a very good beach bar called the yianna marie. Supermarket and rising sun pub within a five minute walk from hotel location couldnt be any better.
Found the staff to be very fiendly and helpful at all times they even tought me a few greek words! the entertainment team was fantastic, Julie, Ben and Karen. We will return to this hotel again 100%.

This was our second visit to the Rising Star and again we were very impressed by everything.

Just arrived abck from a week in the Rising star apartments, the location was fantastic, a really well stocked supermarket across the road, and the restaurant Yianna Marie also across the road did really nice food in lovely surroundings. Keep an eye out for vouchers that save you money on your meal there!
The only down points for me were, as others have mentioned the dustbins collection at 4am. It woke my baby up everytime! Not to mention me. I asked to move but was told they were fully booked.

We stayed at The Rising Star Hotel on half board.
Newly opened hotel right on the beach front. Fantastic location very short walk to the shops and themed pubs.
The hotel was of very high standards, very clean, the staff were just fantastic, fun, friendly and very entertaining. Watch out for the waiter Yanos? he was so much fun and Micheal who is a Micheal Schumacher lookalike.
The food was great, a buffet breakfast and the evening meals were great too, although I am a vegetarian and they dont quite understand, but the chef came out and spoke to me and did what I asked for with no hesitation.
The staff all clubbed together and made the entertainment even though there was only a handful of people in the hotel at our visit. Even the poor reps did a fantastic job of entertaining 2 people if they were lucky.
The pool is very clean and the grounds were well maintained. The reception staff were great too and even arranged for a taxi to the hospital when I burnt and split my cornea in my eye due to the sun, one unlucky person who had to spend 2 days in the dark of the hotel room, so take dark sunglasses just incase you are like me!!!!
The hotel is by far the best I have been too and I thought Oasis Dunas was a dream, lucky there anyway with the hotels.
I would certainly go back
