The rooms are lovely, the pool is lovely with plenty of loungers, and you are right on the beach. If you have a pool/beach view you get the morning sun and a field view gets the evening sun; we had a field view and loved it as you still get to see the sea but also have the benefit of evening sun for drying wet beach things and relaxing with a glass fo wine while watching the sun set.
We were on the 4th floor and only occassionally heard the bin men arriving at 3:30am but they were gone very quickly! Everything in the apartment was new and they were cleaned daily with linen changed every 3 days.
The entertainment was good in the day and also on an evening but as our kids were asleep most evenings we opted for a quiet night out at the local restaurant. Fig Tree Bay Beach is also only a 10 minute walk along the beach or round the road (if you have buggies) (just turn down the left hand road opposiote the 'Euro No. 2 Shop).
The ice-cream man that visits that car park (by Fig Tree Beach) from 12noon does a fantastic MrWhippy ice-cream then dips it in melted chocolate all for 80cents; it was yummy! Right then, prices of things.
At the apartments; Air Conditioning is CYP2.50 per unit per day (one bedroomed apts have 2 units) very expensive, luckily we didn't need it but I'd imagine in July & August it would be a must, irons free of charge, Televisions CYP1.50 per day and for this you get lots of Cypriot channels plus BBC World, BBC Prime, UKTV, EuroSport & Jetex for the kids. Safes were CYP5.50 per week or CYP10.50 for 2 weeks.
Loungers & brollys on the beach are CYP1.25 each so CYP3.75 if you have all 3. Ice-creams if bought from the beach were 50cents more than at the Rising Star Supermarket where everthing was about CYP1.00. They also sold litre tubs of ice-cream which were about CYP2.65 and were ideal for keeping in the freezer section of the fridge for the kids (and me) on an evening. Water was CYP1.50 per 5 litre bottle, Weetabix were approx CYP2.00 for a normal sized box, milk was 70cents for approx 2 pints, Fresh bread was 70cents a loaf or 40cents a roll, doughnuts were 40cents and delicious! Ham was CYP1.35 for 5 slices, same price for slices of bacon & cheese. We bought frozen sausages for CYP1.30 for 8 and defrosted them in the fridge overnight and they tasted fine, Frozen fry chips were CYP1.15 & frozen chicken nuggets about CYP3.65 for 20ish. Flora was 75cents for small tub, jam about 90cents a jar, crisps were 90cents for massive family bags, Orange squash was CYP1.50 a litre, Keo beer was 86 cents for 63cl bottle & Leon Beer (which my hubby preferred) only 76cents for the same size bottle, cheapest White and Red wine CYP1.15 per litre carton and we found the white and the red tasted lovely we even bought lots home! Fruit and veg was extremely cheap.
They sold absolutely everything including frozen lobster, squid and fillet steak so no need to worry about searching for food! We fed the kids in and then ate out after pushing them to sleep in their buggies. We ate at the Yianna Marie restaurant every night and prices ranged from CYP4.50 for basics to CYP8.50 for things like fancy fillet steaks.
All food we had tasted great including the fish and chip special on a Tues & Thurs, the fillet steaks were cooked to perfection, and the apple pie & cheese cake just delicious. It was CYP1.60 a pint of Keo or Carlsberg in the restaurant and CYP3.30 for a carafe of wine or CYP4.50 a bottle of house wine. The Rising Sun pub was also good with plenty of entertainment, the cypriot dancers every Friday night were great fun! I think I've covered most things but if you have anything else you'd like to know
I'd be happy to answer any questions.

The only downside with the room was that there wasn't enough space for clothes only one wardrobe and 1 small drawer. That aside, the rooms were very clean, hotel is in a perfect position, we had a room overlooking the pool and the bay.
We didn't eat in the hotel although there are plenty of restaurants around. Astoria, Georgios were ok most of the meal selections are all pretty much the same although Chi Chi's (Mexican) was very good. Yannie Marie was not very good for catering for large parties.

The complex itself was down the bottom of a side street which was right on the beach. Very good entertainment for the kids. Nice pool although very cold but small indoor pool aswell. The staff were very helpful.
The entertainments team were very good especially Ben. The poolside restaurant was good and very handy. An excellent holiday and will definately be going again.

We have been to protaras 2 years before and stopped in different hotels but this one for the money was great in an ideal location, walking distance from all the bars and shops.
The hotel was very clean maids were in every day if wanted.
The only thing is I wouldn't stop in this hotel in the hotter months as you have to pay extra for the air conditioning.
We had a sea room view in the apartments and they were really spacious and clean we didn't actually go to the entertainment as we like to go out there is that much going on in Protaras our children are 8 and 10 and we found mini golf and the bowling alley kept them amused.
Also we hired a car which was great we took them to a fair in Aiya Napa and we visited Paramilini and other resorts its a must, don't forget your driving licence.
We ate in the happy days restaurant this was top class also ate in diva restaurant and found these great the love boat is ideal for entertainment on a night just keep on the bottles otherwise you mite get a dodgy pint everything seems to be watered down a bit.
The beach is a must clean the water is salty but you get a better tan over all we would definitely go back there especially that time a year it was 30 degrees every day without a cloud in the sky and we didn't return till 26th Oct so couldn't fault the weather.
And the doctors are very good out there if you happen to need them actually better than at home here in England.

The rooms are large and very well decorated, everything is spotlessly clean, towels and sheets changed very regularly, cleanest hotel i have ever been in. The pool area also very clean and well maintained.
We booked self catering, however once there you can upgrade to half board, 3 days for 22.50 CYP per adult. The food was excellent full english breakfasts or just toasties etc. The evening meal also very good standard and excellent value for money, there were also organised nights such as bbq and cypriot night( this was lovely).
The location couldnt have been better, large pool area plenty of loungers, large grassy area overlooking sea, our first week especially was great as not too busy ! Easy walking distance of the main strip.
The entertainment team were fantastic with the kids, they really put in a lot of effort especially Ben Apple, he always had time for them, there was a couple of hours in morning by the pool and a couple of hours in evening including a mini disco, only downside was the entertainment finished on the 22/10 and we were still there till the 26/10, and as i said a dedicated kids club would be a big plus, maybe this will happen in next year or so, i dont think it will be the same entertainment team next year which will be a pity as i believe they came 2nd overall in the world in the mytravel group awards !
The staff were also really friendly especially Paulina and Artemis, kids even got 1 or 2 free ice creams.
The restaurants i would recommend in Protaras are :
Astoria - great food and very friendly service.
Nicholas - we only managed to eat here once but was very good.
Georgias - great food again.
We had one bad experience and that was at the Protomare Restaurant across from the Odessa Hotel, the food was only average, quite small portions compared to the others but it was our most expensive meal, due to being charged 3.00 cyp for garlic bread and 3.00 cyp for a tiny salad, would not go back there, but everyone has different tastes.
Overall we really enjoyed our holiday and are planning on going back to same hotel next year. Hope this review helps other people as i found this site very helpful.

Rising Star is well recommended as apartment cleaned and beds made every day except Sunday. We ate at the pool cafe bar food was graet and prices very reasonable.
Pool area wonderful, my nine year old made plentiy of friends. Entertainer Ben was great what energy in 30 degrees heat. Only complaint not enough sunbeds as these had been booked by other hoilday makers putting towels on early in morning.
Will go back again to Rising Star.
