Location
We were in block D, top floor overlooking the pool with a sea view. The rooms were cleaned most days. They were a good size with two air conditioning units that were free with a deposit. A word of warning you have to fight hard to get a late checkout room.
The staff were very friendly but we found the drinks a little on the expensive side and you had a job sometimes telling the difference between brandy and Bacardi.
Food at the Vangelis was very good, but we ate out most nights. (Try the Red Indian along the top main road.)
The two on site entertainers were called Chris and Claire, they were a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome. Some of the outside entertainment that was brought in by the management was a bit weak to be honest except for the fire show, but we still enjoyed ourselves.
Crazy balloons!! Mr. Magic.
The swimming pool was clean, with a pool attendant that joined in with the kids. You have to get up early to get a decent sunbed which to be honest is no different to other places that we have been to.
All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this place to you.

Hotel was clean rooms cleaned every day except Sundays towels were grubby sometimes smelly.
Hotel reception staff were not very helpful or polite bar staff waiters very helpful.
Large size pool plenty of sunloungers very windy in the afternoon.
Entertainment not very good.
Resort clean & tidy. Plenty of shops that has everything you can get at the Glasgow Barras if you like Elvis you will love it. Plenty of bars resturants karaoke.
Beach is lovely. Went on a boat trip stopped at a quite cove for swimming that was really good also went scuba diving with my daughters.
We would recommend this to anyone we really enjoyed ourselves and are going back to the same resort Aug 2008

The food was satisfactory, but it was served in a buffet style, and for some reason was set out in the open where it got cold very quickly.
The location was very central. Staff were very friendly apart from ne receptionist who did nothing for hotel/guest relations.
The entertainment staff were atrocious. The most unprofessional couple I have ever seen. On the night of the England v Portugal World cup match, we were berated by them because we didn't support England. Very unprofessional since in my opinion, they should have remained impartial, allowing guests to support whatever team they wished to.
Visit this hotel again? No chance.

Pool area kept very clean and tidy but found on our second week that it was difficult to get sunbeds later in the morning. Notices up saying not to reserve them but it did happen.
Found bar excellent and staff friendly. Restaurant was buffet style, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Didn't have lunches or any bar food so cant comment on that but found breakfast and dinners amazing. So much variety. Breakfast - you could have your eggs boiled, fried, scrambled or an omlette, and if you were up to it, you could have them all!!! There was just about everything you'd expect to be on offer for breakfast and dinners were themed each night so there was something for everyone. Buffet was moved back inside when found to be not as hot as should be so no problems there!
Entertainment was pretty good and the team tried really hard to motivate people and compete with all the other bars and hotels nearby. If anything we found it a little repetitive but they were always up for a laugh and offered bingo, karaoke etc and different acts such as international dancers and magicians came in as well. Staff at reception were efficient and helpful but perhaps could've been a little more friendly.
All in all a great place to stay and location great as about a minutes walk from main area called "the strip" and not too noisy either. Would definitely return.

We were placed in Block B, separated across the lane from the main buildings. It suited us because we avoided the poolside entertainment noise at night, and our block was handiest for the beach and supermarkets. Our room on the fourth floor, was huge, well equipped, and complete with a (small) balcony. Looking straight down you saw the roof and air conditioner units of a one storey restaurant below, but the fab (and free) sea views more than compensated.
Self-catering, but we had a couple of snacks at the poolside restaurant which were good enough.
The Pool is amazing. Big, clean, not too busy. Didn't have to buy a lilo as the hotel staff kept left behind toys at the side of the pool - everything from crocodiles to dingies! Great fun for adults and kids.
Location was fantastic. Protarus is basically one long street of hotels, fronted by retaurants, shops, bars, clubs etc. Vangelis is in the middle. Cross the road in front, and cut through a steep path on the hotel opposite to get down to the fantastic beach. It can get very busy at the weekends, so take a boat trip from the jetty - cheaper than those offered by the hotel reps.
Loved it. Last minute deal, probably best value, and best location in Protarus, and would definitely recommend it.

The apartments were a nice size, nicely decorated and very clean, the maid came in every day (apart from Sundays). There was a small kitchenette with small oven, two rings, fridge, kettle, toaster, etc. The cutlery and crockery we had was really nice and not tatty at all, which we have found in some other places we

We stayed all inclusive, the breakfast and dinners were very good but I did find the evening meals to be poor.
Entertainment staff were not up to much music far too loud during the day and they strugggled to keep activities under control.
The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of protaras and close to shops, bars and the beach.
Would definately go back and stay at the Vangelis we all had a wonderful holiday.
