Take a torch for night-time. Returning to the hotel at night is dangerous.

Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

The beaches are clean and the sea is safe to paddle in, with peddlos and boat rides. There is a small cafe/ bar down by the beach, gets very busy on the weekends as the local people come for a break. Don't hire the sun loungers if you have a bad back, which are rigid plastic, shaped like a banana.
The main beach in Protaris is brilliant with lots of water sports, para sailing, banana boat rides also a trip in a glass bottom boat. There are more places to eat or have a drink in and lots of night time entertainment We loved it there.

We arrived in a storm to a ghost town - however it was the first day that a few hotels had opened. As the week went on more bars and restaurants and hotels opened ready for the Easter weekend.
We found a lovely restaurant called Antatolia which did reasonable priced set menus. The waiters were very friendly and were great with children. A family of 6 on adult meals ate for about £50 - 60(cyp) with drinks. Ripples bar on the corner was our saviour for entertainment, we watched the superleague and football in here, + we had sound (most of the bars had music blaring so you couldn't hear).
Had a walk down to fig tree bay and thought it looked small. However we have been spoilt by Correlejo beach.
I think at the height of the season this resort will be packed, so when you are walking along the main strip, imagine us only passing a handful of people on our first night looking for somewhere to eat. I think i preferred it, as it was quiet.
I have to say about the flowers, I have been to Cyprus before in August and thought it looked a bit barron, spring in Cyprus is lovely, we had orange and lemon trees opposite the hotel and the mimosa trees were glorious the whole island was yellow. It was a lovely time of the year to visit Cyprus, I was there a week and came back with a good tan, the weather was hot enough to sun bathe but pleasant enough to walk around in.

The resort was fairly clean but lots of open space with nothing. Building work going on around. The beaches are small coves with a few pleasant sandy beaches. I would not return to this resort would rather stay in Larnaca they had lovely beaches.

2 weeks was to long in this resort, the elvis and other inpersonators wore us out abit and it was hard to dodge the bars with everyone singing really badly in. Also there was football on tv in every bar. Im not saying we'd did'nt enjoy ourselves because we did, its just 2 weeks was too long for the same thing everynight. The food was brilliant some more expensive than others. There are lots of stray cats everywhere which was a bit of a problem as i have a cat allergie. There is plenty of shops to buy food in or buy pressies, i wish i hadnt taken all my toiletries and meds i could have bought them there when i needed them. It reminds me of a cleaner, bit bigger, much warmer Blackpool. Only hear the food is much better also.

Protaras is a beautiful resort, especially Fig Tree Bay. The beaches are clean and safe for all ages. The beach attendants are both friendly and efficient.
The beach bar run by the Zefkas family serves excellent food by extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Plenty of excellent restaurants and bars, spoilt for choice!
Best restaurants - Island Affair, Promises
Best bars - Rockafellas, Friends and Cheers
