Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

Time of year possibly wrong to make true assesment to far out of Protaras not enough to do.

nice resort although very built up and full of bars offering happy hours and karioke. would not recommend late october as everything and i mean everything, even macdonalds closes down for the winter. the locals on the whole are a friendly bunch and make you welcome. lovely beach offering watersports and sunbeds and umbrellas, at a fee. restaurants all good quality, average meal including bottle of wine for 2 adults and 2 kids cy 40-50.

I travelled to Protaras this year as a single parent with 2 children.
I had been to protaras before,but not in the same part of Protaras.
Protaras itself,is a lovely place,a lot more built up than when I first went-but that was over 10 years ago!!!
I would definately go back to Protaras again.

Protaras its self was very clean and the people are friendly, the restaurants were great! (visit Romeo's Taverna if you go, great food!) good prices, plenty of shops to buy gifts and such in. not much resort entertainment though, i think a week was enough, if we had stayed any longer we would have gone to Ayia napa or for days out around Cyprus.
we went at the end of the season so everything starts to close! the weather wasn't hot but warm enough! will definatly be visiting again next year but in the hotter sesason - July-August
Also loads of stray cats!

this was our second trip to protaras and it certainly ticks all our boxes.beaches are great, we love the zodiac karoake bar for our entertainment and there is a lack of undesirables there to spoil your holiday.its very much a family resort and i hope it stays that way!

One of the best areas of Cyprus I have visited. Plenty of things for the children to do. Lots of lovely beaches and boat trips.
Entertainment everywhere.
Very friendly people.

The resort of Protaras is great for everyone. There are plenty of bars and restaurants. Some pubs show movies and have live acts.
For the kids there are amusements, rides, trampolines etc. The resort beaches are fantastic. Very clean. The water is very calm making it great for young children. There is also a lot of water sports and pedalos with slides.

The town of Proteras was very nice but having stayed in a poor hotel the holiday was spoilt and has therefore put me off the resort.

Brilliant resort, lovely beaches, lovely weather. lovely food. Try Astoria Meze House and ask for Chris he will look after you, the food here is lovely.

I love Cyprus, having lived there as a child, when we used to visit Fig Tree Bay. The resort, although obviously much livlier now, is really great, with fantactic soft golden sandy beaches, nice and clean, as is the sea. The water is warm and clear, and shallow out some way for the children. There's a range of beach cafes and bars, and the main street runs parallel to the beach, so the shops, restaurants and supermarkets are nice and close too. the bar entertainment is a bit Anglicised, but there's traditional Cypriot too, so there's a fair amount of choice, for all age ranges.
