Take a torch for night-time. Returning to the hotel at night is dangerous.

Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

The Issac is just across the road from a small bay which is a bit rocky on the feet but the sea is amazing. The sea was not cold and we swam in the shallow waters which are perfectly safe for small children as there are no waves. There is a nice restaurant here too called the Polyixenia which does great food at the kiosk so you can eat on the sunbeds or you can go into the main restaurant. This restaurant also has a children's play area which comes in handy of a night time when you want a peaceful meal whilst sitting out al fresco style watching the sea! pure bliss.
Its about a 10 minute walk to the livelier part of Protaras where there is an abundance of bars and nightlife.
Ifalos is another good restaurant - the staff make a total fuss of the kids and all kids get free desserts and lollipops and a kiss from the waiter/waitress.
Another good restaurant we found was the Karatanas which has a huge bouncy castle in the back so, once again, you could have a peaceful meal. The prices here were really good and breakfast was good. They were charging £CYP2.90 for a full cooked english breakfast which seemed to be a bargain.
On the whole I wouldnt say the resort is cheap - i have eaten and drank cheaper elsewhere - but the food was absolutely delicious - lots of feta salads, fish and lamb and the ice creams were to die for.
There are so many bars and restaurants you would never be able to eat in them all in the time needed but i do think that there should be some more entertainment for the children. There are lots and lots of shows of Elvis etc which i dont really feel caters for the children.
There are the usual souvenier shops that all appear to stock more or less of the same thing and plenty of supermarkets for anything else that you might require. Sun lotions are cheaply purchased here. I see the big brand names like Nivea and Loreal on several occasions.
On the whole it was a lovely clean resort, the people are extremely friendly and appear to love all children. They take the time to make sure you are happy and the food was declicious.
There is a pizza hut and mcdonalds if you have finnicky eaters but in most places you can get the usual something and chips so everyone is happy.
You must try the Polyixenia in pernera because they do a wonderful meze (21 dishes) for CYP£14 for two adults. the meal is huge and includes dolmades (stuffed vine leaves) and moussaka along with another 19 dishes!

Protaras itself was very commercialised with plenty of places to eat and drink and lots of hotels! The beach itself seemed to stretch quite far and there were plenty of watersports available. Even though the world cup was being featured there was never any trouble and the local people are very friendly. Visit Shennanigans for a cheap and enjoyable meal with a welcome smile! To see the island hire a car, lots of places to go

The location of these apartments in the resort was good. Just a short walk to the main strip. Far enough away from all the hussle and bussle.
The whole resort was spotless, plenty of lovely places to eat and drink.
Beach is out of this world, ideal for kids and clean, water is crystal clear. Lovely sandy beach.
Definately recommend Protaras

Protaras town is full of themed bars, places to eat and gift shops. Full of young families and couples of all ages, no loud clubs, not that I've noticed anyway. Fig Tree bay is a wonderful beach. It really is up to you to decide what you want from a holiday, if you are prepared to accept it as it is, then you will enjoy yourself. Just relax and go with the flow!

The resort itself is brilliant,it was kept very clean and the entertainment in the bars was fantastic.
The beach is also very clean.
We would love to return next year to Constantinos for our third visit.
I would like also to add that the cypriot people are the most friendliest people we have ever met, and we cant wait to return to their wonderful hospitality.

Protaras is a little gem of a place that if you don't like, then goodness knows what you are looking for from a family holiday.
It has loud and party but it also has peace and quiet, with some excellent eating places - DIVAS & PROMISES being our two favorites (both a cut above most of the olthers)- and some lively bars such as WAVES, where Kate & Yanis looked after us and ROCKAFELLAS, where the kids could spend their money on a wide range of games and playing pool while we watched the live entertainment (some good and some not so)and had a little drink - or two!
The RISING SUN PUB is where we watched the world cup matches and is run by Jimmy, who is a smashing guy. (look out for the rugby balls above the bar - that's us)
We must also give a special mention to the ASTORIA Resturant where the owner CHRIS, an absolute gentleman, and his staff treated us like one of their own in their homely surroundings.
We love this resort of Protaras and like the Terminator WE WILL BE BACK because we haven't found anywhere else to compare with it yet.

The resort is great if you turn right out of the hotel you walk to the quieter end of the resort which has great pubs etc. The Chinese is very good and Cheers is also very friendly. If you turn left you reach the noiser end of the resort where there is a great Italian, opposite another Chinese, it does great homemade pizza's and pasta.
The beach is lovely, if you take the road in front of the hotel it takes you directly to the beach, the one on the left is Protaras beach but if you take the walkway to the right Fig Tree Bay is a 2 minute walk away which is nicer.

The hotel was on the outskirts of Protaras, too far to walk so transport is important, taxis were £4 to Protaras.
The hotel has a rocky cove at the end but we didnt go swimming there as it looked a bit dangerous.
