Take a torch for night-time. Returning to the hotel at night is dangerous.

Get a ground room floor as it will help as there are no lifts to the other floors so it can be a bit of a walk with a pram.
Make sure on the strip you visit the Meze restaurant with the funny symbols in the name. It is one of the best Meze places in Protaras. Also Molti was a great restaurant to stay in.

My partner and I did not visit the beach very often as we hired a jeep and then a motorbike to get and about the country. However the beaches we did visit were clean, but as always a little overcrowded. Most beaches provided water sports with facilities to buy drinks and food etc.... the location was good for snorkelling and seeing a few fish.
Protaras is a very clean and tidy place, there are plenty of bins provided which are emptied regularly.
I loved the entertainment, plenty of bars to choose from whether you want to relax, party, karaoke and watch the sport, you will find somewhere suitable.
We spent a lot of time in a cocktail bar called Ripples, the staff were really friendly and after the 3rd visit were asked if we wanted "our usual" which I LOVED! They had sport on a lot which my partner was very grateful for. Some of the bars also had live entertainment, such as Elvis and Tom Jones impersonators and a lot of Karaoke.
There is a very good selection of restaurants, including, Greek, Italian, Chinese and Mexican. I would recommend , Oscars for steak and The Mandarin for Chinese, Chi-Chis for Mexican and there was a really good Italian but I can't remember the name.
I would definitely visit the area again but not for a few years, not because there is anything wrong, simply because I would like to stay at the other end of the Island next time and see some history.

Plenty of lovely bars and restaurants and never had a bad meal yet. Go onto beach and turn left to walk along coast line and discover lovely garden restaurant facing sea, brilliant !!!!!!!!!!

The Penera end of Protaras is a little quieter but still has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. If you prefer a little more lively entertainment Protaras town and Ayia napa are only a short bus ride away. Protaras is always clean and the people there always give you a warm welcome to Cyprus.

I would not visit this this place again, the best bit was the water park.
There was to many kareoke bars and going all that way to watch friends is a no no.

Mimosa beach is situated midway between Ayia Napa and Pataros, both places are lively and have many shops, bars and places to vist. Ayia Napa explodes with noise and clubbers after about 9 pm so didnt like that as much. pataros is a typical holiday makers town. we hired a car in our second week and travelled around the island. the roads are good and there is a main highway going right through the island which makes visiting other places real easy.
i would recommend cyprus as a whole, it is a lovely place, the weather is boiling, the people are great and they drive on the proper side of the road. they even write the road signs in english for us dummies who can's read their language. bless them.

Upto date, Protaras is my favourite holiday so far! I thought it was a lovely resort, offering for many ages! You would expect two 20 year old girls to be in Ayia Napa every night, but infact out of 2 weeks we went there twice! Protaras was offered more than enough for us and the Zodiac Bar was our favourite bar for the duration of our holiday!

the resort of protaras was indeed on the doorstep of the hotel, which was just as well.
although this is now fast becoming very busy and quiet walks are no longer possible.
the beach was close by but you had to walk over very rough area to get there from the hotel grounds.
i don't think i will be returning for a fourth vist to that particular resort again.

The resort was o.k but it reminded us of Blackpool. Thr shops were all set out good as they were all in one strip. The entertainment was to a good standard. A bit to much Elvis though. The best show that we saw was Dean Saunders in the Love Boat, he' a comedy hipnotist and in the love boat every Tuesday and Saturday. Theres also a good singer in the roof top pub. Some good places we found to eat in were Island Affair, Erato,Shanegans and if you like pizza, go to the pizza inn as it's an all you can eat buffet there. Good places to go and have a drink in is Yia Mias and Las Pas. The resort was very clean and iff you got up early enough you coulod see the people cleaning the streets. The buses in the resort are also cheap (55 cent).

A very Anglicised resort with far too many karokes.Lots of lovely places to eat especially Nicholas's and Anatolia.Fig Tree Bay is a lovely beach but it gets very crowded. Beach near Rising Star very rocky - not suitable for lilos - I bought 2 and they both punctured. If I visityed again would like to stay Capo Bay end because of the beach.
