Location
Hotel overall was clean apart from the all inclusive restaurants, which were understaffed and could not manage the amount of guests. Rooms vary, some are like prison cells so be careful when booking - best to upgrade.
Staff at bars and pay restaurants were friendly and seemed happy, as were animation team (very basic shows). Reception staff were miserable, quite rude and lied constantly. Also staff hassle you all day to buy things, they start at breakfast with fruit juices and do not stop all day - massage, horse riding, camel riding, fishing, pay restaurants (you name it they try and sell it!).
I would definitely not visit Le Meridien again, although the complex is nice that is as far as it goes, the food is diabolical, and the hygeine is lacking, the water supply was constantly cutting off. It is a shame as the complex is well maintained and the gardens are lovely but that is as far as the 5* experience extends!

Hotel is clean. Pool freezing cold. Gardens smell of sewage at night. Location - middle of nowhere. Beach ok but unable to get a sunlounger unless you get up at 4am.
Entertainment - cheesy, 80s Russian orientated. Food - diabolical. Still suffering from salmonella I caught whilst there. Buffet style cold - not impressive. Can pay extra for other restaurants - not worth it. Go out of hotel if you want a decent meal.
This is possibly the worst example of a 3 star hotel, never mind supposed 5 star I have ever seen.
Won't go back.

I would absolutely love to go back and I am.
The food was lovely the room was very very tidy and the maid was very polite.
The location was an amazing site and the entertainment was great I met all of the animation team they made my holiday special because they do everything to a high standard.
The shows were absolutely great. A big pool, a baby pool an indoor pool, a gym, a spa treatment place and a kids club with a park outside it. In the park in a cage are two monkeys they are both terribly funny! you can also go on a horse or camel or train ride and all of this is the same hotel.
5 out of 5 for everything!!!!!!!!!!

Dune rooms are the basic ones if you want lagoon or sea views these do cost more. Couldn't fault the rooms they were cleaned daily.
Swimming pool was huge. Sea was lovely and warm.
The animation team they have at the hotel were great. They all spoke English.
Dockers bar at night is a must. The entertainment was highly amusing.
Remember this is Egypt and the standards are not what you would get at home. Please don't be put off and make a trip to this part of the world. I've booked for my 5th trip to this lovely country. The company I booked with meant we stayed fully inclusive till we left the hotel.

We stayed all inclusive and the food was varied each day, we mainly used the buffet restaurant. I am a particularly fussy eater and I managed to find something to my taste.
The hotel was clean and the staff do work hard to maintain the grounds.
We paid over a thousand pounds for our holiday and we were 5* all inclusive throughout. However I was very disappointed with our original room as it was definately not the 5* picture in the brochure. We stayed in a dune room which was more of an appartment block and a short walk from the main building with the restaurants, access to pool etc. Please be aware that the picture in the brochure is a room in the "main building" so I urge you to upgrade when booking. The next day we met with the rep and I complained and reluctantly we had to pay

The shops in the hotel provided some entertainment, especially when you have a blond 15 year old daughter!!! I was offered 1 million camels for her and she was given good deals on jewellery in return for taking off her sunglasses so they could see her eyes!!! But you can buy the same things much more cheaply in the airport with greater choice.
Sterling notes are acceptable most places, but not coins, so you are better off taking euros or even American dollars. You can change your sterling into Egyptian pounds in the Hotel, but you don't really need much.
The Hotel pool was still cool - 22degrees, but even the sea was only 24 degrees, colder than we'd hoped, but it was warming up a little as we left. The snorkelling was amazing and we saw the octopus too - really exciting. Didn't feel the need to go on any trips (especially as most days someone had a dodgy tummy.)
We did get a little fed up with the constant sales attempts, our first day we counted 14 polite 'no thank yous.' They were always friendly and pleasant and not at all threatening, but a little in your face at times. We settled down to a more manageable 5 or 6 per day after the first day!!
Prince Karim restaurant is free to ai in the mornings and they will often try to persuade you to go up there to relieve the pressure on the more popular Alladin Restaurant. The Island Pegoda part of it was the most delightful place to eat at any time of the day and you could always get in if you offered to wait 5 minutes and smiled. The Alladin beach restaurant was being renovated when we were there and looked as if it would be opened by the summer and would be a lovely spot.
Make sure you check out promptly at 12; although there'll be a queue and we waited out in the sun and came back around 1pm with no problems, other people left it until closer to 3pm and were threated with being charged for more time. This was a real shame as you were still allowed to have lunch if you'd arrived after lunch time on your first day and it wouldn't have hurt them to be generous and allow us to still be all inclusive until we had to leave. Not a nice note to end on.
Take good care of your belongings at the airport, twice we saw things go astray and staff who returned them were very insistent on being given a tip. Its worth having some Egyptian money left over just for tipping as all their currency is in notes and you can give quite a handful without it costing too much. After the friendliness at the Hotel we found the airport a much more uncomfortable place to be and were glad to get on the plane.
Overall a great holiday and we would return to the Hotel as it was a comfortable place to enjoy beautiful weather.

The rooms only had views over back of another hotel ,a patch of grass and a road,(Again not the sea view room that was booked and paid for) The rooms only had sleeping for 4 people, but that was sorted by a very helpful room maid with a put u up bed. But nothing done about sea view. The rooms are very shabby and nothing like pictures on their web site.
We would not give this hotel a 5 star (and have stayed in many, Sharm being one last year and Tunisia 5 times etc etc )Food very good could not fault it. Could improve a bit with the younger child's choice of food but our kids loved it. Hotel shabby in places but they did start to decorate and add a few pictures and plants while we were there.
Hotel in ok location but not much to do on evening, the hotels in this resort have the monopoly on alcoholic drink as no shops selling this.
Ok location and beach very nice water crystal clear small amount of coral for snorkeling and would recommend the trip to paradise island and snorkeling (which cost
