Try to get a sea view room overlooking the lovely gardens and sea.
The buffet is excellent and we did not get sick.
Amazing place.

You must upgrade to the best rooms, as all rooms in need of new furniture and decor etc. must have a seaborne or pool view room too.
Charging for wifi in this day and age is disgusting hotels just making money out of you for all extras.

Staff very helpful, good food, rooms very clean. The staff go out of their way to help you day or night. Try the Italian restaurant, it has good steak and you will go back again.

Deluxe & Superior rooms in the main hotel.
Room 1210, spacious and quiet over looking the swimming pool.
Onions is a good restaurant to try, but being on the all inclusive, we did not try, but a lot of guests did.

Even number rooms face the sun, odd number rooms are on the dark side and never see the sun.

Om el Seid is a nice quiet resort, but only 10 mins away from Naama bay if you want to liven things up. There are a few bars and restaurants within walking distance if you fancy a change of scenery. Eating out is very cheap! a quick heads up - TGI Fridays in Naama bay no longer serves alcohol-most disappointed, looking forward to one of their amazing cocktails.

Been to Naama Bay several times now, it is the ideal place for a winter sun holiday and can be as busy or quiet as you wish it to be.

Egypt is still a "third-world country". It is hot, dusty and, in places rather dirty.
However I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to visit Sharm el Sheikh, especially the Old Town/Market (our hotel was situated just opposite this so access was easy and quick.) Yes, the locals do tend to try hard to "persuade" you to enter their shop/buy their product but a firm "No Thank you" was usually enough to end the discussion (unlike our experience at the Pyramids in Cairo where constant harassment was much more the order of the day.) At all times haggling is almost obligatory (apart from packaged food shops) and the finally-agreed price was most often about half of the initial amount stated by the shopkeeper.
We did not see much of the resort (it extends over several kilometres) but did visit the Naama Bay area (which I have elsewhere likened to Blackpool promenade - no offence to Blackpool.) We were interested to see it, but pleased to leave it!
In summary, if, like us, you have never holidayed outside Europe, a stay in Sharm el Sheikh is likely to prove a real eye-opener.

The resort was kept clean, and there was always someone on hand even if the smallest bit of rubbish was on the floor.
The beach consisted of a gritty sand but we still enjoyed spenfing time on it and again, there was no rubbish.
There was plenty to see within the resort and Namma Bay is only a short taxi drive away to access more shops and bars.

The resort was spotless, well maintained, someone always cleaning or cutting the grass or just washing the paths.
The beach area, was lovely had plenty of sunbeds and parasols.
we love coming back to the Grande Azure, never fails to disappoint.

We stayed in the Sofitel at the far end of Naama Bay so were not disturbed by nightlife. A walk of about 20 minutes took us from the hotel to the centre of Naama Bay. There are many varied restaurants to choose from catering for pretty much every taste. We avoided the 'brand' restaurants and opted to eat mainly Middle Eastern food and were not disappointed. We enjoyed many of the cafes/bars for people watching and spent a couple of evenings in the Ghazala Beach Bar where there is a good singer every evening. The Tam Tam restaurant has regular entertainment on the upstairs terrace of a varying standard from the absurd (a Michael Jackson lookalike trying to balance on planks held up with glass tumblers whilst juggling) to a very professional belly dancer. We didn't use the beach as the Sofitel has its own private beaches. Generally the resort was clean but watch out for camel crap after dark!
