Try to get a sea view room overlooking the lovely gardens and sea.
The buffet is excellent and we did not get sick.
Amazing place.

You must upgrade to the best rooms, as all rooms in need of new furniture and decor etc. must have a seaborne or pool view room too.
Charging for wifi in this day and age is disgusting hotels just making money out of you for all extras.

Staff very helpful, good food, rooms very clean. The staff go out of their way to help you day or night. Try the Italian restaurant, it has good steak and you will go back again.

Deluxe & Superior rooms in the main hotel.
Room 1210, spacious and quiet over looking the swimming pool.
Onions is a good restaurant to try, but being on the all inclusive, we did not try, but a lot of guests did.

Even number rooms face the sun, odd number rooms are on the dark side and never see the sun.

Rooms were clean. Linens were prepared as we requested.
Entertainment was really engaging to kids. Good Dinner Shows as well for all.
Beach was nice. There is a lot of news of sharks and risk. The attendants were not very aware of the conditions or sharing information with the swimmers. This would help greatly.
I would take the kids again for sure. I would consider this a great family place. I would not consider it a romantic get away. Nonetheless, it was very nice an good people working. Management seems to be in background, but the workers were great.

The resort was not very clean; lots of building work going on around. The entertainment was also very loud and mostly directed at russian tourists. The beach was filthy; covered in cigarette butts and food and I will not be visiting this resort ever again. Complete disaster.

We stayed at Sharm and visited Namma Bay a couple of times - decent clean place with lots of resturants etc downside is the hassle factor so be ready for that. Worth a look, great for winter sun, prices are fair but some places are expensive.

Taxis are a pain – always slowing down and beeping you as you walk along. Use hotel taxis, BUT put into writing where you want to go and time of pickup. We got dropped off at wrong place.
Taxi touts spoil things and are not mentioned on here. They approach you to offer to get you a taxi, then expect 50LE for doing it!
Walking back to what we thought was pre-arranged pick up by our hotel taxi we were approached by tout who saw TSB wristband and said he was our taxi driver back. He wasn't, it was an elaborate con.
Camel ride on beach is 50, 100 or 150le
La Strada & Al Khan are Egyptian style shops with global name food & drink outlets, 35 min walk from hotel reception.
Don't eat naan bread on Desert Stars excursion. We ate carefully, and too much, for the first week and were OK until this excursion. Bedouins were not seen to either wash their hands or use hand wash when making and cutting up naan bread.
Don't have to ride camels, can stay in coach for this bit. Small torch would be useful.
Beach tarmac path along back of hotels – avoids big hassling walking along road.
Local shops hassle aggressively, don't go in, whatever pretext – sign my visitors book is a common one. Once in they'll try to sell you more expensive stuff.
Naama bay is mainly traffic free and scruffy, so taxi rank is 10 min walk from main area.
Hard Rock Cafe (Thomson rep has money off voucher for it) was great, don't mind if you only order drinks. Ross was wonderful, ringing hotel taxi firm to get them to pick us up earlier than arranged. Wouldn't take anything either as tip, or for cost of phone calls.

Only went to Sharm once during the evening. If you've been to Blackpool you've been to Sharm...except the weather is better in Sharm. Lots of bright lights, lots of people, lots of shopkeepers, lots of hassle. However a firm 'No Thanks' did the trick. Watch out for the 'I wont sell you anything but please go into my shop and sign my visitors book' routine. Once you're in, you're in until you buy. Us Brits really should take a lesson from the Russians and learn to say NO. For the True Brits theres a McDonalds, KFC, Hardrock Cafe and English pubs. Haggle for everything - never pay what they ask. Half what they want then half it again and you're near the mark. They will always make a profit.

The resort itself is busy and there is plenty to do. lots of bizzarres and shops along with a Mcdonalds, KFC, starbucks and TGI which were all priced well. There are fish restaurants along with pizza, chinese and other shops. nice area and very middle eastern.
