The New Year's Eve bash this year was better than last year's one but last year's one was still brilliant. It seemed better planned - ie tables and spacing out etc - now that the first one was out of the way and the tent was over the amphitheatre which was nice and bigger. It was a pleasure to have all of the management there too mingling with both the guests and all of their staff. The 'dancing Chefs' along with Mohamed Shaarawi were most entertaining and made our night.
First Choice reps do a lot of the evening entertainment and we found this a lot better than last year - the reps that were there this time were more organised, could all sing and dance and spent more time chatting to the guests and arranging entertainment for the kids. They were there when we woke up and almost til we went to bed - they worked very hard.
The Staff at the hotel are out of this world - what more can I say.
The rooms are spacious and cleaned every day. The surrounding areas - ie balconies, pool, grass, water features, lobby, reception, shops, bars etc are spotlessly clean and tidy. We had the same room as last year but a different housekeeper who was just as good as the last one - his name was Mohamed. We would like to say thanks for the 'little touches' to him.
The food, once again, was of an excellent standard, some different theme every day/night and something for everyone to eat - even the kids. Once again, none of us suffered any illness on our holiday from the food - the only illness one of us had was from beer!!! (Too much of it if you ask me).
Now that the River pool is heated it's brilliant as it gets a bit chilly in the winter in the water. We were all in the pool every day and this once 'quiet' poolside is now very noisy and full of life - which suits us fine.
The Recreation Team were, once again, great with sunbeds, towels, the kids etc etc. They are all so friendly and our best friend is Hussien - absolute class bloke.
The Pool Bar staff (Ahmed and Aziz) are absolutely brilliant. Ahmed made sure that my diabetic son only had diet drinks and no ice cream until he had checked with us first, he was always smiling and only too happy to be of assistance - he too is our friend.
Of a night we mostly frequented the Irish Bar as this had a mini disco from about 8.20pm - 9.00pm for the kids and then Bingo for my mother and any other bingo fans out there before an hour's entertainment - this was either Egyptian entertainment (produced locally and very good) or the First Choice reps - we saw some good shows, different to last year. Then there was a disco and dancing til the early hours which kept the older 'kids' busy! Ahmed also looked after us in this bar every night too - he works very long and hard and still manages to have that same smile and cheeriness of a night that he does in the day. His colleagues in that bar varied from night to night but they too looked after us whenever we went to the bar - especially if the women couldn't carry all our drinks back!
Me, my wife and kids didn't really go in the Lobby Bar much but my mom and dad went in there after bingo every night, almost, to escape the night life which they felt they were too old for. They seemed to find the quieter, more tame atmosphere, in here more suited to them.
We would like to say a massive thanks to all those personally named above and also to Mohamed Shaarawi for not only sorting out that we had the same room as last year but also for making sure my mom and dad were right next door as requested. We would like to thank all of the staff at the Coral Sea resort too.
Would be go back again for a third time?......
Oh yes - roll on May!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Airport:
We booked our holiday with First Choice but for some reason we flew with Thomas Cook and the plane flight was very cramped. On arrival at Sharm El Sheikh we were given a card to fill out for each passenger and then you either queued to get Visas (which you don

The visa was stamped quickly, no queues at immigration, baggage first off the carousel, out to the bus with nobody looking for tips. We arrived early and several aircraft landed after us so they may have a different story to tell.
For the smokers among you, cigarettes in the hotel are about 12 pounds a carton. If you take the bus into Naama bay there is a duty free shop opposite the bus drop off point. Cigs there are about 9 pounds a carton but you could buy Russian cigs for 4 US dollars a carton. They also sell spirits and perfume etc. If I understood the salesman correctly you can only buy here within 48 hours of your arrival, must have your passport and are limited to 3 cartons per passport.
Naama bay is full of shops selling tourist tat and is not very scenic, looks much better at night. The Hard Rock Caf

The hotel was immaculately clean. Unlike other places around Eygpt the toilets are fantastically clean and hygenic!! The rooms were kept clean and beds were made and bedding changed everyday also towels were changed each day. You can have laundry done at a cheap price!!
There is a free safe in the room and a mini bar but beware and check the price list before use as it can be very price considerin normal English prices.
There was a very large selection of food to in my opinion accomidate for every indervisual. The resturante is a buffet style where you just fetch your own meal. You can fetch as much or as little as you wish! There is also a wide selection of starters, main courses and desserts. There is also a wide selection of drink both alcoholic and none alcoholic.
The location was fantastic. It was right on the beach with the most beautiful mountains in the distance the sea is also beautiful and wen you walk in fish swim around you feet. But beware the coral is quite rough and swim shoes will be needed.
The staff were all fantastic very polite and always found time to talk to you.Always helpful and catered to every need. The man that worked at palms pool bar(aziz)was un believebly helpful and you never went without a drink.
The entertainment was out of the world!! They did activities almost all day (killer darts, killer pool, penalty shootout, football, french bowls, snakes and ladders, water polo,a quiz and loads more). and at night they did a kiddies disco, bingo shows and they also involed the audience and make them go up on stage it was an amazing laugh.
I was deverstated to be leaving and wish i was still there!!! We would love to go for Christmas 06 but simply cannot afford it but plan to go back for Christmas 07

When we were driving to the Hotel we were a bit worried as there was nothing around the hotel apart from building sites. On arrival we were really impressed with the hotel it was like a palace it was lovely. We were met with a welcome drink and were told that our bags would be delivered to our room, as we needed medication we were allowed to take them ourselves, im glad we did now as a couple we were talking to waited over 2 hours for they bags to arrive.
We booked a standard Sea View room, the rooms were spacious and modern with a lovely view from the balcony. We did have a small problem our room was not cleaned for 2 days, and it was supposed to be daily. We did speak to the rep but nothing happened.
The pool areas are really nice and kept really clean there was no rubbish, empty glasses, plates etc around the pool which you normally get with an all inclusive holiday, the pool was heated which we needed in november!! Dont bother taking beach towels as you have a fresh one everyday.
The food was ok, Im a really fussy eater and I managed to eat something most nights, its the same with all hotels offering all inclusive the food gets repetative after a while. It is worth booking the Italian as the food was really nice, and it was nice to have your food served to you, as the main restaurant resembled a school canteen some days.
This hotel is fantastic, the only downfall is the evening entertaintment if thats what you can call it, unless you are under the age of 10 there is nothing for adults to do. The reps do try but its awful they have no props, its badly put together and its painful to watch. One evening we walked around the hotel and my partner and I both noticed how bored all the adults looked, as there is nothing to do.
We did go into naama bay, its best if you go in with other people or in a group as you dont get hassled so much then. It has some great places to eat, and its really resonable. The shops are good aswell. We used the hotels shuttle bus which is 2.00 per person per way and we also used the hotel taxis which were reliable and cheap. If you need to buy anything you have forgotten like cameras, sun cream do not buy them in the hotel, get them in Naama Bay as the hotel are charging what they want as they know you will more than likley going to pay the prices. They wanted 11.00 english pounds for a throw away camera, 9.00 pounds for sun cream and they charge 3.00/4.00 for a daily paper.
I would return to this hotel if the entertainment had improved and the reps had stopped doing it, as it was so boring in the nights.
P.s dont go near the camels on the beach, we got robbed we asked if we could pay to take a photo we went to give him 20.00 egyptian pounds and he took our wallet off us. When we told the rep she said that they dont warn holiday makers as its nothing to do with them.

On arrival at the airport we we were the only plane landing and therefore got our visa and luggage fairly promptly and were directed to our coach and were on our way in no time at all. Beware! After my husband went to the toilet he was awaited at the exit by an attendant who held out his hand and asked for a

So clean, the food in the dine around was great, the only problem was so much to choose from! we used room service a few times as it was so cheap, we ordered a couple of burgers and fries and pasta, it came with a basket of lovely bread and it only cost about 5 pound!!
The hotel staff are fantastic especially with kids,Abraheim in the pool bar especially and not to mention the towel guys, Amro(henry) was cool!
Entertainment was really good the reps do a really good job and work so hard. My daughter did a kids diving course and the instructor Ahmed was wonderful with her, she had a great time with him in the dive pool and will be carrying it on at the local pool so she can do a sea dive wen we come back!
