Just arrived back from the coral sea, what a fantastic hotel. Rooms were spacious and clean, cleaned every day, the hotel itself and the grounds were immaculate, with staff cleaning and gardening 24 hours a day.

The food was great with a lot of choice, different menu every night, and all cooked and presented really well everything, was fresh and always being topped up, you could never go hungry in this hotel.

All staff were happy and chatty would try and help all the time, considering the hours they put in and the small amount they earn.

Aziz at the pool bar was fantastic all the time, always there when our glasses were empty, think he was a mind reader.

The hotel is a 20 min ride to naama bay, the hotel has a bus to take you there, only a

Just got back from Coral Sea Resort. Eyptian people are absolutely lovely and helpful.

We were on the ground floor so had it good, other families who were upstairs didn't find it so great as strangely there is no lift!

I probably have exotic tastes as we loved the food and found they had a great variety with a healthy menu, we had a diffrent dish each night, especially loved the bar-b-que..as with anywhere you go, make it your responsibility to know that your food is well cooked and that you drink lots of fluids (I don't mean alcohol)..

I had my reservations about going with regards to the conflicts in the middle east, you are scanned as you enter the hotel and there are armed police everywhere you go.

The gripes that I have are not with the resort itself or the staff, but the other visitors..there were a lot of children left to do their own thing while their parents enjoyed themselves elsewhere. There were a particular couple of groups of children who I never saw with an adult being rude and causing havoc to others..ie throwing stones, running around the dining areas etc.

There are also a lot of topless sunbathing, which amused my kids! everything is clearly stated, although people still seem to ignore this..Do not enter the restaurant in swimwear, be responsible for your children, the swimming area does not have lifegaurds, so be careful and you will have a great time.

We were a party of 17. This is an excellent hotel in beautiful surroundings. The food at this hotel is wonderful with plenty of choice. We had a vegetarian in our party and she was pleased with the food on offer too.

The cleanliness of the hotel is exceptional and all the staff are very friendly and polite. If you have a problem they are very quick to put things right.

A word of warning with regard to the mopeds/electric bikes available for hire on the beach front. There are several different areas to hire bikes - only use the Coral Sea run bike stand. Our 3 boys hired bikes from and stand further up the beach and another child hit our eldest son (there were witnesses). However, when he returned the bike they tried to make us pay

Very very good hotel.Returned yesterday and been trying to find fault for this review but I am struggling.

General:All hotel areas without exception...grounds/pool areas/pools/restaurants kept immaculately clean.
We had a double room with extra fold down bed for 6 yr old, plenty big enough for us.Kids channels on TV in room, great air con and most reliable hot power shower ever had abroad. All rooms have large balcony or terrace. This hotel has the largest expanse of sunbathing areas I have ever seen in a hotel. It was half term our first week and although hotel full it never seemed over busy...sunbeds nicely seperated so never felt cramped for space.Clientel 80% British..a few Germans,Dutch,Scandinavians and an increasing number of Russians (spot the outdated Speedos) over the winter apparently.

Pools:2 of them...one large(heated as of 1st Nov) its like getting into a warm bath. This is called The River Pool presumably as there is a mock river next to it. This was the quieter of the 2 pools and is easier to keep an eye on the little ones, however it did become busier on our last couple of days due to the heating of it.
The other pool is huge(so big its not practical to heat it apparently) and is nearest the beach, they play music (quite loudly)and the reps run their daytime entertainment from here hence it the teenagers etc. This pool also includes a toddlers seperate pool. Both pools have swim up bars. For the real sun worshippers amongst you the nearer you get to the beach the longer you get in the sun as it goes down over the Sinai mountains. There is some aircraft noise at the hotel but not enough to be an annoyance.

Staff:(99% male) First class. Some people thought some of them were a little over friendly, but I dont agree with that at all. Some people thought they were only really friendly because they were after tips...well...I suppose that could be the case...but I can say that at no stage did I ever feel under any pressure to tip any staff.I did tip the pool bar staff, the pool/towel attendants and the waiters in the ampitheatre at night..but only very modestly..and they appeared very grateful. They are very keen that people enjoy Egypt and return. All speak more than adequate English. Bar and pool staff work 12-14 hour days..they work solidly for a month and then get 9-10 days off when most go back to Cairo.Always smiling always happy to practice and improve their English, cant praise them highly enough.

Food: When you consider there are 1000 people on all inclusive basis...there is a huge amount of food to prepare on a daily basis. Wont go into specifics about dishes but plenty of choice at all meal times..lots of meat, chicken and fish all freshly prepared(no pork of course)..its all self service...very nicely presented..main restaurant is busy at peak time (bet 7-8 pm)but never really had to wait for a table. My wife is really fussy eater and was more than happy with offerings.TIP: use the in house A la carte Italian opposite reception desk...very nice..have to pay for drinks..not expensive though..youre entitled to one visit per week..but it appears under used and you can get tokens for extra visits from reception if you ask nicely.Mermaid restaurant on beach is lovely location for spot of lunch and a beer looking out over the Red Sea to Saudi Arabia in the distance. My wife has really temperamental stomache...but none of us suffered any ill effects over the 2 weeks.Quite a few did suffer at one time or other and there are varying theories on what causes it. You should drink plenty of water thats for sure...you can have as many bottles from the restaurant as you want at lunch and dinner..we stocked our mini bar with it after we got the staff to empty it on our arrival. They do have tanks of water around the pools(the big bottles you get in offices etc)think this is possible cause of tummy upsets as I think it maybe de mineralised tap water. In any case why take the chance with it? stick to the bottles and you know what you are getting for sure.TIP: the banana cake at breakfast..!!

Location: Right on the beach..great views out to the east..Tiran Island and Saudi in the distance. There is a jetty on the beach which you can walk down and snorkel off..sea temp very pleasant..can be bit choppy as there is often a breeze but if you do nothing else whilst there..go snorkelling..plenty of fish off end of jetty...coral within about 40 meters of jetty. There is virtually nothing but other hotels around the immediate area...small supermarket about 10 mins walk from hotel back towards airport and a small selection of shops 6 or 7 mins in same direction..did nt use either. Its 10-15 mins drive to airport and 25 mins into Naama Bay on the courtesy coach which as others have described is

Well this was my first holidy as a single female parent, and I couldn't have choose a better hotel to visit. After booking and reading the reviews I was a tad bit worried, but I needn't have been.

Airport - Keep your head down, and look for your reps and follow your fellow travelers. We had no hassle with visas and were directed to our coach with out no problems.

Coral Sea - FANTASTIC. Arrived and greeted with a drink and bags promptly taken to our room. Which was great for me being a single parent with two kids.

Bar staff/restuarant staff/pool guys FANTASTIC

We had a room directly over looking the main entertainment pool.

The entertainment team were great.

We ate and drunk everything on offer without a stomach upset, but 24 hours after returning home one of my kids did have the trots and sick, which only lasted two hours. Personally I think its nothing to do with the food/drink but may be the scuba eqipment...???

I do remember taking a dislike to one of the reps though, he was very rude.

In all we will deffo be back, and we'v been all over from oz to barbados. Coral Sea was FANTASTIC.

This was our second visit to the Coral Sea and many of the teething problems experienced in 2005 have now been sorted out.

The gardens are now well established and kept immaculate, the gardeners work extremely hard.

We had a Select room which was very spacious, always kept clean and Shokhri our housekeeper was always available if we required anything.

Food,in the Dine Around Restaurant, was yet again well prepared and presented with plenty of variety. Waiters were always friendly and willing to help, however the restaurant supervisors could have socialised a little more with the holidaymakers, but maybe last year we were spoilt by Mr. Alaa Fawzy who this year was in charge of the Italian and the Mermaid Restaurants. The new Fish Restaurant available at the Mermaid (although not part of the All Inclusive) was an excellent evening with a well prepared meal and is worth a visit; in fact we visited twice during our two week stay.

The towel boys on the beach were very good, always greeted us with a wave and a smile and very chatty. Beach always kept immaculate, free of any rubbish and litter.

Lounge bar staff again very friendly, continually clearing tables and keeping area clean and tidy.

All in all a very good hotel and we will be visiting again very soon. A big thank you to all the staff for making our holiday special.

Last year the entertainment was not very good but this year from what we saw there has been a marked improvement.

Just arrived back and the brochures are out for next year. As mentioned in all (most) of the previous comments, the hotel, food, staff etc are fantastic. The place is spotless and the gardens are immaculate. Staff work very hard to keep it all together and should get more praise from their managers but while we were there we only saw the managers walking about looking for faults.

The bar staff are very hard working and if you're lucky you can get the pool bar staff serving you at night in the ampitheatre (Bedrock), Aziz is the number 1 barman, friendly and hard working and if he got the chance he could show the managers a thing or two about customer relations.

The ents reps work hard and do the best with what they've got but some of the shows leave a bit to the immagination - Grease is played out and the Fakir show includes fire eating and walking on broken glass - just what young impressionable kids need to watch! Challenge the entertainer is more for the dads as it's usually their "adult" questions that are asked, give it back to the kids.

The tummy bug gets everybody in the end but I don't believe it's down to dehydration like the reps say. One guy got some pills called DIAX from Naama Bay and he was ok within 12 hrs.

The only downer if you can call it that was pointed out by almost every guest - a lack of toilets in the pool area. There are 2 bars and a bbq at the pools and the nearest loo's are back in the main building or down at the Mermaid Restaurant on the beach. If you're at the pool with the tummy bug take your running shoe's!

Top holiday and a definite return.

We have Just arrived back from the Coral Sea resort in Sharm el- Sheik on the 29th September 2006. This was our first time in Egypt and we had an absolutely fantastic time.

My husband and I went along with my husbands parents who are in their 70s. This hotel is fantastic the staff are all extremely friendly and very helpful, they can't do enough for you to make your stay special.

The First Choice reps all work extremely hard and are all very friendly and approachable.

Our room was room 1040 which overlooked the diving centre and the mermaid bar it was on the ground floor. My in-laws room was on the second floor and was room 1152 from our patio area if we stood out side we could wave to them on their balocony.

People have said that every one gets the tummy upset at some time in their holiday, well out of the 4 of us only one of us went down with an upset stomach this was my mother-in-law. My husband and I and my father-in-law all took danone el casei imunitas yoghurt drinks one a day for a month as suggested by our GP (it tops up your good bacteria in your stomach) and none of us had any stomach problems at all. We had ice in our drinks and even ate the lettuce and fruit that was available at all meal times.

The temperature when we went for the first week was in the 50s and we did not sit in the sun all day and drank at least three bottles of water each.

This hotel is excellent for all age groups and singles and families, we are even hoping to go back next year. The snorkelling in the sea is fantastic with so many fish to look at, when you get into the sea it is like walking into a warm bath, the water is about 28degrees. The only trip that we went on was the Bedouin experience at
