Hotel was supposed to be new but had been built some years before and left to decay. The finish is grim no provision for the disabled, people with small children or people with walking difficulties, small ramps provided in two places.

The hotel food from anywhere other than the main restaurant usually had to be sent back because it was cold.

Hotel staff are worked hard and paid nothing and the entertainment is dire. Kids disco in a nice small overcrowded room full of smoke (great for those small lungs).

The guided tour by the holiday reps was full of buy buy buy our trips and not much else. The cleanliness of the hotel was probably good for most people as they spent most nights with the floor polisher usually starting at twelve am and finishing around five am, so relaxing.

We arrived with great trepidation at the end of October, wondering what we had let ourselves in for. After all there had been so many negative reports about the place. Were we worried - yes. Should we have been - NO. This was, without a shadow of doubt, the best holiday we have ever had.

The hotel was awesome. Very modern and spacious in the reception area. Also very security conscious, which we liked. The staff were lovely, always happy and smiley and they couldn't do enough for you.

We were taken on a tour of the resort on a golf buggy before we got to our room by a gentleman called Waleed or Lido as he liked to be called so we could get a feel of the place. Our bags were waiting for us outside our room when we got there. It was dark so we didn't really know how plesant the surroundings were until the next day.

The room was soooo huge, we couldn't believe it was all ours for 11 days. It was cleaned by a really cheerful chap every day who was really apologetic if we were still in our room when he arrived. Bed linen changed daily, towels changed twice daily. Everything was always spotlessy clean.

The pool area was lovely, always a nice breeze, which took the edge off the 95-100 degrees temperature that we had to 'endure' everyday. It was a hard 11 days, but somebody had to do it!!! The pool guys were always helpful - always took your towels to where you wanted to sunbathe.

Food - now where do we begin. If you wanted it, they had it. There was so much variety. Pasta, pizza, fish, meat, salad, bread rolls, fruit. The list was endless. Always plentiful and constantly checked to make sure that the hot food was always hot. Even the fussiest of eaters couldn't have starved The waiters were wonderful, if a little too efficent at times. I left a bread roll on my plate and wandered off to get a drink and when I returned my bread roll had disappeared along with my cutley and ashtray. Still, never mind.

The entertainment was pretty dire. In other words, there was not an awful lot of it and what there was, was a lot awful. The spinning man was good. Once. And the games night was fair to middleing. But, saying that, we don't go on holiday to do Kareoke and quiz nights. We go on holiday to enjoy making new friends with people. And make friends we did. We made our own entertainment. We usually hung out in the lounge bar enjoying a few drinks with the new people we met. And special thanks to Amer and Fayez who always bought our drinks to our table rather than let us queue for them.

The hotel is a bit remote, but it was just what we wanted. We went quad bike racing in the desert - fatastic, Garden Reef snorkelling - superp, and Naama Bay one evening. Just like Leicester Square only warmer.

Anybody out there who has any reservations about visiting Coral Sea need not worry. Of course there were people who moaned, but, and I don't mean to offend here, these people can only be described as the fish & chip, bucket & spade brigade, and should stick to the Costas.

All I'm left to say is 'shokron & ma selama' (thank you & goodbye) to all the Eqyptians who made our holiday wonderful. Probably not goodbye, because we'll be back next year. I can hardly wait. Anyone whose holiday to Coral Sea is coming up - just one word - ENJOY.

We flew out to Coral Sea on the 3rd November and returned to freezing England on 17th.

We arrived at the hotel and were very happy, we were greeted by very friendly hotel staff which was needed after our worrying experience of Sharm airport! The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport (which you will realise as around 3-5 planes fly directly over Coral Sea every day).

Coral Sea is a fantabulous hotel, very clean and the staff are constantly bending over backwards to look after guests.

We found that the food was yummy! Steve particularly loved the cakes and pastries which are provided every single morning for breakfast along with fantastic breads/buns. Breakfast consists of the mentioned with every type of morning feast you could want and the tea is excellent, it is Lipton!

At lunch time the choice of food and where to eat is excellent. Choices include (1) Mermaid Bar next to the beach which provide salad, pasta, chicken, beef, burgers. (2) The Dine Around which provide lots of choice. (3) BBQ which is situated next to the large pool, the burgers are good but steer clear if you do not like garlic as they tend to repeat on you!

At dinner time food is served in the Dine Around and again the food is excellent. The fish is wonderful, I love seafood and one of the nights was fish night. Grilled fish and mixed seafood, it was lovely. Another night saw us eat a local chicken dish which was yummy.

The Dine Around staff are extremely efficient, sometimes a little too efficient. Do not leave your table to nip for another bread roll or anything as the staff will clear your plate away!

There is a smoking area and a non smoking area, the non smoking area is situated where the kiddies food corner is, usually filled with grown ups who are too ignorant to try Egyptian dishes and prefer to munch chips evey night! Do not worry about the food, it is superb especially the cakes and the omlettes at breakfast.

The Italian is ok and a nice change but nothing like a real Italian restaurant. We had two visits there as we stayed for two weeks.

As for the entertainment...Well, where to start! We stayed clear of any 'entertainment' as the First Choice team that were working there during our stay were awful!! We could not understand why they insist on trying to rally people to play football in the midday sun and seem to get fed up when nobody takes them on. During our stay the 'entertainers' annoyed everybody around the pool by constantly getting on the pool bar microphone ending up with a group of lads shouting at them and complaining. This hotel does not need daytime entertainers other than for children. The music around the pool ruined our relaxation, the music is alwys the same and some songs (James Blunt, Mariah Carey) are played about 5 times a day! Take an iPod!!

The pools are very, very cold but is fine once you have braved it and dived in. It is also a good depth for children, it isn't too deep. one of the pools will be heated next year.

Location, Location, Location...Coral Sea is quite a ride from Namma Bay. We went into Namma Bay about 5 times during our stay on the bus which leaves at 7pm and costs

We booked at the last minute so we were pleasantly supprised at how lovely the resort was. The hotel was clean although the toliets were a bit hit and miss at times, more for the fact that some people don't know how to flush a toliet or place hand towels in a bin!! Our room was cleaned to a high standard and of a good size.

Food was fine with plenty of choice, although I didn't particularly like the size of the dining area as it could have been made into smaller areas or more resturants rather than the one visit we were allowed to make to the Italian Resturant. Staff were very quick to clear the tables - would have helped if we had finished eating at it! Also they were not set up again so if you went to eat later you had to hunt around for knives forks etc. The bar drinks were of good measures and easily obtainable from the bar or from waiters with no problem.

The idea of putting a mini bar in each room and then charging really high prices for the contents seemed rather strange I'm sure there is a method to this madness - however I don't know of anyone who used it, as most people like ourselves just took water or drinks from the bar back to our room if we needed.

The location was fine as you were able to get a bus to Naama Bay or a taxi to Sharks Bay. The beach was lovely and clean and we both enjoyed snorkling of of the jetty area. The swimmimg pool areas were spacious and clean as were the pool bars.

We flew to Cairo for the day and also went scuba diving both first class trips.

The hotel staff were all so friendly and helpful. Although we weren't so impressed with the first choice reps. Unfortunately although the Entertainment staff tried their best they were dire. We were lucky as we only spent one day around the pool which was more than enough having to listen to them constantly over the microphone. They seemed totally unaware that there were very few children there that needed the kind of entertainment they were offering and obviously if they were getting little response it was because people were happy sunbathing or making their own entertainment!!

We had a fantastic week and would visit this resort again.

Our first time in Egypt. The Hotel is brand new and looks it. Very impressive. Its great to start your holiday 100% comfortable with your choice of hotel.

The food was good. Lots of variety and fresh. The pizzas are excellent and the fish is a must.

I have never come across so many helpful staff. They adored the children and nothing was too much trouble.

The entertainment is very amateurish and the reps get on everyone's nerves with their constant rallying calls to people to take part in activities at 90 degrees!! They are just not needed. The music around the pool is a bit repetitive but they let put on a few of my own CDs which of course encouraged others to do the same. Problem solved.

I would only advise ANYBODY going to this hotel to make sure you instruct the ignorant people, who continually smoke over you during dinner, to kindly stop. It is mainly Russians who do this. I frequently confronted them over this before they would stop which they reluctantly did.

We stayed at the Coral Sea for our honeymoon.

It was fantastic, we were so lazy though we didnt go into namma bay we had no need to everything we wanted was there,
the room was great a fantastic size and very clean
the staff were 110% happy and willing to help on anything at all.

The food was great I did have the salads and suffered but othe than that it was lovely. The breakfast did get a bit repeative but it was fine. The lunches and dinners were great and there was loads to choose from.

We went into the Irish bar and there is nothing Irish about it to be honest and they do have a kids disco 8.00-9.00 which they play the usual cheesy kids songs
then it is usually a quiz and bingo. I felt for the entertainment staff they had only been together 2 and a half weeks when we has arrived and they had to sort out there routines etc and I think they worked hard but you could tell that they had not been together long ,
they work very long hours but they always have a smile for you.

The music around the pool is very repetitive and I was sick of hearing Mariah Carey by the end of our 2 weeks
the problems we did find was if we wanted a soft drink they gave you little plastic cups which is great if you are 5 but for adults its not the same. Children behind one of the pool bars which we found a bit odd.

Oh yeah a word of advice we wished we had taken a mobile phone with us as it is

Hi we went to Sharm el Sheikh in November this year we had a great time.

The Hotel staff are very freindly and we give one of the bar men a football shirt and he was made up and always asking if we wanted drinks. It is a clean hotel but there was a bit of scruffy grouting in our bathroom but it wasn't to bad.

The food is nice but they have theme nights with different countries food and some off them are not very nice but most of them when we was there was nice, they make fresh pizza every day and they also make bolanase when you wait.

The beach shoes are very recommended because the coral in the water is very sharp and may cut your feet the beach shoes are

When we arrived we were greeted with a welcome drink and the glory of the gorgeous hotel.

We went for a week as i had just had a operation and needed some rest and what better than the Coral Sea Resort.

We were absolutely thrilled with the location, the food well there was such a varied selection we did not know which type to have. The presentation, the amounts always stocked up, the waiter service, the cleanliness was top of everything especially the rooms they were very spacious, the twin beds are the size of our doubles!, you have sky tv which has lots of good channels which was good as november it got dark about 5pm so you could relax before dinner.

We had an example of how committed the staff were to you we had a burst pipe in our bathroom it flooded the room i rang down to reception to report it, the cleaners, the maintenance, the manager all came to our room we sat out on the balcony so they could deal with the problem within 20 minutes the pipe was fixed our room was spotless you would not of known that it had happened they were absolutely fantastic with the situation for a new hotel we think they have built a lovely building.

The entertainment needs a better program at night time as the hotel is situated about 10-15 mins drive by taxi to Namma Bay.

The grounds are gorgeous two lovely big swimming pools and plenty of sunloungers, the gardens are very well maintained and very well lit at night time along the little paths.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with a drink very friendly staff, didn't take long to get us booked in. The security is excellent.

We booked a jacuzzi suite, the room was massive right opposite the swimming pools and just off the beach, well worth having. The rooms were cleaned every day nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We made friends with some of the staff, and they didn't want us to leave.

We didn't really go to any bars with entertainment in, so cant comment on that.

There are a few shops in the Hotel and they give you discount on most things. The Hotel is about 20 mins from Naama Bay, well worth going to.

Although we were AI we had a couple of meals out, we went to the Chinese restaurant in the shopping complex(upstairs) wonderful food and good service. You do get pestered a little, but if you say no thank you and move on you should be ok. Also went for a fish meal in old Sharm recommended by one of the other reps which was absolutely fabulous and very cheap.

The beach staff were very friendly and helpful, Mohammed in particular and he was upset when we left, but all the staff were brilliant.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation and we will go back. The hotel limo service is also very good and helpful.

One tip, if you go to a casino in Egypt, do not take Egyptian money, they won't change it. Take dollars or Euro.

The Coral Sea Resort is still very new and in my view has opened before things are fully finished off.

The entrance gates are still not finished. Around the pool area it is very hard to walk on the concrete when entering and leaving the pool as it hurts the feet and there are lots of little stones coming out of the concrete.

As other people report, there are no toilets around the pool area and it is a long walk to the toilets in the main building or in the rooms. It does tend to put you off swimming in the pools as you wonder if everybody takes the trouble to walk all the way to the toilets! Around the inside of the pool the nice blue mosaic turns out to be pieces of vinyl on closer inspection.

The food could be more imaginative and for people who dislike garlic it is difficult to find something to eat - even the mashed potato was heavily flavoured with it. The hotel staff however are a delight. They are so helpful and friendly and all enjoyed a joke.

All in all we enjoyed our holiday and would visit this hotel again in a few years time when all the teething problems have been sorted out.
