Location
Stayed in a bungalow which was spacious with a wonderful terrace - complete with sun bed, chair and table. Had no problems at all with either shower or air conditioning - I can only think that other visitors who had problems didn't report them to the very helpful reception staff! - when we arrived we had been given a small childs bed for my son (he's 16 and 5'11" !!) - this was changed within an hour - we also had a problem with the patio door handle - again this was repaired within the hour.
Cannot fault the cleanliness,or hotel staff (other than the lobby bar staff who only seemed interested in the Italians!)- location seemed a bit far out from Naama Bay but having spent a couple of very hot evening visits there, we were very glad to get back to the hotel where there was nearly always a nice breeze.
Food was good and even my picky son found enough to keep him happy. I would say however that we have travelled quite a bit and don't expect traditional "pub grub" when abroad. - Cakes and bread displays compaired very well with a recent cruise we went on! - I'm going to wait a week or so before weighing.
Entertainment - Not sure what to say as we didn't bother with any of it - like previous reports it all appears to be centered around the Italians. If you like a quiet drink with new friends on a superb terrace overlooking pools and gardens all softly lit
you won't be disappointed. - If you want more just nip into Naama Bay where you have everything else - Hard Rock Cafe is well worth a visit!
Overall a very good holiday I would recommend.

The only downful to this hotel is the food. The food presentation was excellent however the variety of food choices were very limited.Waiters in the restuarant were very good too.
We didnt see any evening entertainment as this was done outside in an open theater with no bar. It was too hot in the evenings to sit out.
This hotel mainly caters for italians, however be warned they are very rude and at meal times will push you out of the way the same at the bars. You also need to get a sunbed when the pools open as these are limited and the Italians take them.
A really nice holiday was had and we would definatley go back in a few years.

The hotel was very clean and was constantly being cleaned. It took the room cleaners ages to do their job, but that was because they made such a good job of it. And the shapes they made with the towels was quite remarkable.
The biggest bugbear was the food. What there was was mostly good quality, but the selection was very poor. Every day there was fish, but it didn't tell you what type. Loads of bread and pasta though!!
The Laguna Vista was a good 20 minute drive from Naama Bay (where the Hard Rock Cafe, McDonalds, etc are all located). The local cabs were a fiver each way, the hotel taxis were

We found the air conditioning complicated to use but figured it out only on the second week.
The food was of good quality but not of selection. Most of the food was the same but varied throughout the week. By the Second week, we found ourselves gagging for a McDonalds in Naam'a Bay.
The hotel was kept clean and there were people who were constantly checking the pool water with chemical testing kits.
The staff where friendly and very good at speaking English. We made friends with Kiko (Pool Bar Captain), Hassan (ast.captain of Dua Dua), Ahmed (Beach boy who looked after the towels). The great thing about the staff was they all had a laugh with you and each other and they were constantly playing tricks and telling jokes.
There was hardly any entertainment around and the bars shut at 12am. After 12 if you wanted a drink, there was a disco a Dua Dua where you had to pay for Drinks.
The only real problem we had was the Italians. They loved to cause problems and steal other peoples sun lounges. They were constantly pushing in cues and being ignorant. Even the staff didn't like them in that 2 weeks we were there.
Overall we had a good holiday, made friends and had a good time. I would like to go back next year!

The hotel staff are very friendly and polite as long as they think that there is something in it for them. Entertainment was mainly in Italian as the resort caters mainly for them an we found that they even beat the Germans to the sun beds (6:30am)

A good choice of food, one downside is the entertainment is geared towards the italians who are very loud, evening entertainment is poor, the snorkeling is fantastic its a must.

The pool and the pool bar were very clean and on return to our room later in the day it had been cleaned to once again a very high standard.
The snorkelling was excellent and the largest lion fish seen on the whole of the holday, including when I was diving was in the lagoon before the edge of the reef, just off the beach of the hotel. All diving while done during this stay was with Camel Dive Club, who I will be diving again with next year.
We thought that the food, although sometimes repetative was excellent.
When we orginally booked we toyed with the idea of a bungalow, glad we didn't, although they were very nice, i don't think that they are as good quality as the rooms in the main hotel.
We have booked to go again in 2005 - the best holiday we have ever had. Thanks to all the staff at Laguna Vista for making our holiday so enjoyable

However, if you intend snorkeling from this hotel, you may be dissapointed. It takes approximiately 30 minutes wading out to a reasonable level for snorkeling/reef edge. It is possible to use some of the other hotels pontoons to gain access to the reef edge, but some security staff in these hotels insist on money to use the facilities!!
Sharm itself is generaly excelent for sun sea and relaxation. A very positive point for some, is that the location of this hotel does offer very extensive SAFE coastal walking for several miles in each direction, particularly in the Nabq/Dahab direction.
We will definetly return annualy to sharm but will stay in the Ras Um Sid area where the diving and snorkeling is much easier.

When you arrive there, the lobby/reception looks fantastic.
We stayed 8 days in a duplex bungalow. It was very large, clean, and nice furniture, just like 1001 arabian nights, and it smelled very good too. We had a very big bed, and our little boy (then just turned two years) slept upstairs, very nice too.
A lot of pools, all of them really nice.
When we were there, it wasn't too busy in the complex.
The food was very good, a lot of variation, every day different, fresh, hot.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull.
Not so good: not everything was all-in (the italian restaurant, fish restaurant and disco), the time we were there all the rest of the bars were all-inclusive.
A lot of Italians.
Animation not too good, kids disco very late, and with the Italian animation team it never started on time. However, the animation was very sweet for our son, and he loved them.
Enjoy your stay there!
