We have been gong back for 10 years, so what more can I say. We love the place and hope to retire here in the future.

St George is a lovely quiet resort which only has one main street. There are are a number of restaurants, bars and shops and a couple of 'nightclubs' but overall it is a peaceful resort.
The beaches are lovely and clean and there is a wide variety of watersports. The water is usually gentle and shallow although it can get windy at times which gives a very small tide.
Some of the hotels are off of the main roads up small back streets and as with any Greek resort most of these roads are not lit at night so it is useful to take a torch if you are returning late at night. Stars hotel is one of these and the road to the hotel has some sharp bends on it but it doesn't get very busy at night so we have never had any problem with the road (even with 2 buggies)
If you want more nightlife, Kavos is only about 20 minutes away and Corfu Town is 30 mins by taxi (a bit longer by bus)

Only saw 2 or 3 discarded plastic items during the weeks stay. Beach very sandy and easy to find a relatively private spot.Sea clean and clear with hardly any seaweed.Felt very safe to swim in.A great selection of restaurants, tavernas and bars. The Palladium being one of our favourites. The Sunset providing the best homemade Moussaka. It was the perfect holiday spot for my 13 year old daughter and I.

The small village of St George South has everything you need for a holiday. It is especially suitable for families as it has no all night discos. There are many restaurants and tavernas overlooking the sea which serve excellant and well priced food and drinks. Many of the tavernas have sky tv with large screens offering sports and films. Some offer 'Greek Nights' or tribute acts varying from Elvis to Ozzy Osbourne! You can rent a car, bike or quad bike in the village, it has its own doctors surgery, money exchange and many trips are offered by a couple of company's there giving you better value for money than booking them through your holiday rep. A trip to Corfu Old Town is not to be missed! The very long narrow sandy beach is very clean but you have to find the best access path to it otherwise you end up going down a steep path.

If you are looking for a lively resort St George South is not the place, BUT it is very friendly and you will find plenty of places to eat and drink.
We found the best place to eat was the Balcony, both the waiters were very friendly and kept us entertained, one in particular would always sing to you! Try the moussaka, it's the best we've ever had but then again so is the kleftiko, stamna etc etc!!
The beach is ok, but why go to the beach when you have a pool and you can sunbathe in peace and quiet, that's your own personal choice.
All in all we found it a very pleasant resort, very restful and laid back, typically Greek!

The resort itself was rather quiet, but this was what we had hoped for; the bars seemed to play the same type of music, mostly old chart hits/Elvis nights, whereas I would have liked something a bit more Greek in style. I woud highly recommend Dimitri's for dinner as well as the italian pizzeria across the road. Food was delicious.
The beach was lovely the further we walked towards the dunes, but there was quite a bit of rubbish.
Hope this is helpful.
