the lagoon studios in sidari are fantastic. the apartments are clean and just what u need for self catering hols. the pool and bar area are spotless. food and drink served at bar was lovely and cheap. staff are all friendly. location perfect for both beach and main strip. would recomend this to anyone. we r going back next year

Location:
Lagoon Studios and Apartments is situated just off the main "strip" through Sidari (about 20seconds walk so next to nothing!) The main beach is just across the strip, and the nicer, smaller beaches of the canal d'armor less than a 10 minute walk away. There is a co-op very close which sells fairly cheap food and drink etc.

Noise:
As it is situated just away from the stip we found that the noise was not nearly as bad as we expected at night. Most of the rooms are away from the bar (the hotel is shaped like an L and the bar is situated right at the end) so we did not have much problem with any noise from there, altho if you stayed closer to it it may be more of an issue.

The swimming pool:
Is absolutely fantastic. there is a guy there who spends hours every evening going around cleaning and tidying the entire pool area, washing areas down and checking that everything is working. Very impressed.

Food:
Although it is self catering, the bar serves food from 10am til 10pm. This is competitively priced and good value for money. From our experience it wasd cheaper and easier to simply eat at the bar rather than trying to buy and cook/eat supermarket food.

Staff and atmosphere:
Both me and my girlfriend agreed that we have never been on a holiday where everyone is quite so friendly! The bar staff are great, if you go im sure you will get to know dennis and alex! they are great. everyone is very laid back and willing to make an effort to make conversation and get on well with you. Loads of guests are also very friendly, its very easy going!

The Rooms:
these were fairely good, about what you would expect from 3* accomodation. we had a balconey which was spacious, and pretty much everything is there which you need. Oh and safety deposit boxes in the reception are free which is helpful.

The Downsides:
*You need airconditioning. this costs 7euros a night.
*We had a small ant problem in our room. not a big deal, but you had to make sure you washed up as soon as you had finished eating anything.
*The kitchen didnt contain a corkscrew or a few other small things which would have been useful had we eaten in more.
*you only get one toilet roll for the week.
*sheets are washed weekly, otherwise they are just folded (which is fine) but the floor is not swept. This would have been quite nice every few days or so because of sand from the beach etc.

Basically I rate lagoon studios and apartments highly, but you MUST bring a lot of mosquito repellant and you MUST pay for airconditioning as soon as possible!

staff helpful and friendly, pool area very good, only had 1 meal at these apartments on the sunday,[a roast]not impressed.
Water flooded under our door during a thunderstorm and had too mop up with our towels, reported it in the morning too get clean ones, clean towels did not appear.
Sidari beach is awful worst beach we have ever seen.
General food in sidari very good.
Would never go back to sidari again felt it was unkept needs upgrading.

This is just to say ignore comments about the lagoon being horrible, I myself have been going for 3 years and its brillient, you will find many many families and groups return year after year to the Lagoon, its brillient, and if they say sidari is like blackpool, perhaps they should have done their homework before going, it clearly states everywhere now how commercialised sidari is, why do people complain when they go on holiday when you have got the internet and other ways of finding out information about what kind of a holiday to expect, ridiculous. THE LAGOON IS BRILLIENT, STAFF ARE EXCELLENT AND I FOR ONE CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK ON 22ND AUGUST 2008. YIPEE!

We visited Lagoon for the first time this year and will be going back. We had a great holiday made even better by the friendly staff Alex, Dennis, Jess, Leena & Stella and a special thanks to Paul who does the entertainment and really made us feel welcome and treated us like we had known him for years. One small criticism is the beach in Sidari. We went once but found it below what we expected, not like the brochure. However the pool at Lagoon was excellent so we spent nearly all our time there. I agree with Tina from Birmingham, people have the internet and sites like this to read up on a resort before they go on holiday. Greece, as a whole, is known for basic accomodation and after staying in several other resorts in Corfu I can say that Sidari and Lagoon are the best places I have stayed on the island. Add to that how cheap it is, we paid 750 pounds for 2 weeks per couple in August and were more than happy with that. I am sure that some people moan for the sake of moaning and let things ruin their holiday before it's started. All in all I would recommend Lagoon to anyone.

2nd Year now at Lagoon, fantastic, marvellous! All the staff made us so welcome again as we got off the coach, especially Jess, who was waiting for us to arrive. The Lagoon is special, so are the staff there and will do anything for you, nothing is to much for them. A big hello to Jess, Alex, Denis, Paul (he's back, Entertainment Guy), Ilena (who sadly left to go to uni), Stella and Lisa (who replaced Ilena) and must mention Gail, Paul's girlfriend, she is fantastic. All these people are the best, top drawer, really make your holiday and very friendly. Entertainment at Lagoon every night, Bingo, Kareoke, Quiz's, Pop and Trivia, Millionaire, Killer Pool all done by Paul who does a Marvellous job, Alex the barman is fantastic, and so is the lovely Denis. I recommend the Lagoon to families and friends, its brillient, cannot wait to go back next year. The apartments are fantastic, basic, but very clean and our cleaner was lovely, and smiling and saying hello and Morgan my little boy loved it and misses everyone there, he made some wicked friends, big hello to them all, espcially Craig, Edward, Brendan, Daniel, Simon, Sam and Ashleigh. The pool is fantastic, great slide for adults and kids, cleaned every night and the pool area and bar is brillient during the day and night. Food very good quality, the pizza's are top and so are the jacket potatoes of a lunchtime, yummy!. Once again a Big Thank You to all at the Lagoon for a truly fantastic holiday again!

Well I was absolutley dreading this holiday, as it was my wedding too. The total party was 64 people, but only 4 of us stayed here! My husband had broken his leg previously, so you can imagine the state I was in. Anyway, I can honestly say everyone at the Lagoon and the First Choice wedding planner made my day so special! and the total holiday infact! They were just incredible! Everyone could not do enough for us, as in all my family, because most of them came to visit us daily! I even had my wedding reception at the Lagoon, of which, was all taken care of by Spiros and his team! We are going back, as I love Sidari anyway and have been for a number of years - but the Lagoon is where I will stay! You will all be in my hearts forever and my wedding photos!! Thanks again - if anyone is thinking about getting married in Sidari, I recommend the Lagoon for your holiday stay and your wedding reception.!:)1 word - Awesome!

Arrived at the Lagoon to be shown room 103 the smallest room I have ever seen,was very disapointed asked for high floor got the ground asked for quite room got near the bar.

The bathroom was discussting the shower had no curtain went all over the place nowhere to put anything. We stayed one night and that was enough it was noisey and when you opened the balcony doors you had people looking right in your room,these rooms were the old block they are horrible not what they advertise in brochure.

We were lucky got moved to different area Sidari full of noise, beaches are horrible the whole place is like Blackpool so English. Its alright if you want to club all night.

We would never go back.

We stayed at the Lagoon 31st May - 6th June 2008 and we have nothing but praise for this hotel.

Brilliant location in Sidari

Rooms were lovely and kept to a decent standard. Pool and poolside was big, safe and very well kept. Sunbeds we're in all good condition.

We cannot give the staff enough praise, they we're all really friendly and helpful and made our holiday the best one we have ever had.

It was the best holiday we have ever had and we loved it so much I'm just booking up to go again and stay at the Lagoon next year!!!!
