Admin note****PLEASE NOTE THIS IS THE OWNERS RESPONSE TO NEGATIVE FEED BACK****

None of are rooms smell of sewage if they did I am sure somebody would of told us.

No-one is forced to join in any of are entertainment we don't treat people any different if they join us or if they don't.

It has been said that there is no entertainment apart from karaoke but we offer 60-70's night, karaoke, Greek night and a quiz.

We have no other bad reviews so to say other people did not enjoy themselves I think is a bit far fetched.

What a fantastic time we had here. From the moment we checked in until we left 2 weeks later we felt part of the family. All the staff starting with Vicky and Sakis down to the bar staff and then even the maids were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment wasnt every night but at least 4 nights a week there was something on, there was greek night, karaoke night, quiz night and 60s, 70s & 80s night. We enjoyed all 4 of them and especially the fact that the bar was open until 3am, this wasnt compulsory but we always took advantage, without disturbing any of the sleeping guests. There is a snack bar by the pool that was good value for money and the food was tasty. The bar had a good selection of drinks that weren't expensive. We would definately reccommend this hotel to anybody who likes to enjoy themselves on holiday. Although there wasn't any school aged children when we were there, the ages of the guests ranged from 18 through to 60+. The restaurant in the square that is linked to the hotel is very nice and the only place we ate twice and enjoyed both times, you even get 10% discount.
The only down side of this hotel is the pool, there is a segregated area for children which is 0.9m and the deep pool started at 1.9m going to about 2.9m and so you couldn't stand in the big pool, you were either swimming or floating on your lilo.
All in all we had a great time and are in touch with some of the guests that we met the first week and discussing going back next year for a reunion week.
Thanks to everyone for a great holiday and we will see you next year.

After reading some of the negative reviews on this site & on others I was quite nervous about our week in the Tropical. This was not our first time to Hanioti but our first time in the Tropical. I have to say I found the hotel and the staff at the Tropical to be great. This is a lively hotel and every effort is made to ensure you have a fun enjoyable stay. Anastasio (barman) is hilarious and keeps you entertained - the themed nights are great fun (although I have to say if we were asked to join in the Greek night once - we were asked a thousand times!!)
Rooms are kept clean and everything about our room screamed typical Greece - Basic but very clean - we had an extremely pleasant stay!

If you are looking for a lively holiday with the chance to laze by the pool all day and have a few drinks and a bit of a party of an evening then this is the place for you. If you want a very quiet & peaceful atmosphere of an evening then I'd maybe reconsider.

We had a great time, even though the OH managed to dislocate his finger before we even got into the room!
There was a raised step by the doorway that he tripped over.........not a great start to the holiday. We spent the first 2 days travelling back and forth to hospital.
I can't believe that people have complained about the attitude of the staff..they were fantastic-really helpful...and I never felt presssurised to eat at the Tropicana,( we did have 3 meals there and I can recommend it)or to go to the karaoke nights. I was ill with a chest infection for the last 3 days and their concern was touching. All the guests were friendly.
So...even though this was a rubbish holiday health-wise for both of us, nothing can detract from the super service we got from everyone. Love to all. Jackie and Alan xx

We have just returned (15/10/07), from a weeks stay at The Tropical Hotel and Studios.

We cannot fault the facilities or the friendliness of the staff at the accomodation. At no time did we feel pressured into eating at the Tropicana.

We did eat there four times during our week's stay, but only because the food was good.

We also tried the Italian, for spaghetti bolognese, and a restaurant just off the main square, for t-bone steaks.

Vicky, if you remember us in room 106?

Thanks for a good holiday.

We have just come back from two weeks in Hanioti and stayed at the Tropical Hotel as it was recommend to us by family who stayed in July. We would recommend this hotel to everyone and would definitely come again, a lot of the guests we met come to the hotel every year sometimes twice a year so what does that tell you!
I do not understand the negative comments made below as we could not fault the hotel at all. The room was very clean and we were given one of the larger rooms so it was of adequate size, although we ate out every night the kitchen and utensils were fine and looked relatively new. Everyone in the hotel is very kind and helpful and they go out of their way to talk to you and to ensure everything is ok. We only went to the Karaoke once during our last week and it was hilarious and at some points everyone was up dancing, I wished we'd went to the Karaoke the first week as we definitely missed a good night. On these nights the entertainment finishes quite late so if you don't attend and are a light sleeper I would recommend bringing ear plugs, otherwise your on holiday and it only happens a few times a week so go down to the bar and enjoy yourself you can sleep at the pool the next day!

The pool and pool area was keep very clean by George, only thing that annoyed me was people putting their towels down early in the morning and then going back to bed or out for the day, we ended up getting up early just to ensure we got a sun bed, we were one of only a few people who actually stayed when we put our towels down. However if you don't get a sun bed in the morning you will definitely get one later in the day as a lot of people leave. There are plenty of sun beds but unfortunately some of them are in the shade. The pool bar is excellent and the Romanian girl who works there is very nice and helpful (sorry I can't remember her name!), there is plenty of choice for a snack and the beer and soft drinks are always ice cold.

In the main square I would recommend the Hot Goblin for snacks but beware the baguettes and baked potatoes are huge!!

For dinner I would recommend Tropicana, La Romantica, Erodeous and the Chinese Restaurant in Perkafouri.

The best pubs are Kelfos, Long Island and of course the bar at the Tropical!

When my friend and I arrived at the Tropical we were met by Vicky, Sakis' fiance who was extremely friendly and asked us for our passports and directed us to our lovely room, which was on the pool level. The room was spotlessly clean and exactly what we needed, there were plenty of towels for us both and enough utensils for what we would require. A bonus was a toaster, and the shower cubicle instead of just a shower curtain.

The pool area was spotlessly cleaned morning and night. The pool bar was very good value for money and the food was lovely.

Vicky and Sakis will do everything they can to make sure that you have a good holiday, which is a lot more than I can say for the Thomson rep!

We visited the Tropicana restaurant, owned by the same family, most nights of our holiday for evening meals. Not because we were asked to but because the food was very good. There are several other nice restaurants in Hanioti but we liked the Tropicana, hence returning all the time.

The entertainment in the hotel was very good, the karaoke/disco nights were really good fun and the quiz was a good night also - even though I couldn't answer some of the questions! My friend and I were wishing we had been there longer as we missed the Greek night but were told by friends that it was fantastic.

We will definitely be returning to the Tropical and I don't think you can get a higher recommendation than that - I would not return somewhere I didn't like. But, there was not one thing I would have or could have complained about in the Tropical, apart from the fact that my holiday was over far too quickly!

Tropical Studio Hanioti Greece. (self catering)

Our stay at the Tropical Studio`s was very good, warm and welcoming were treat as if we had been going there for years.

This was our first visit and if life is good to us it will not be our last. Vicki and Saki's went out of there way to ensure our stay was as good as possible, nothing too much trouble for them, dont know where they get the energy from.

The staff including cleaners where the best and most helpfull.

Must also say that because my health isn't quite good they treated me with great respect.

Well worth staying at the Tropical. Good luck to Vicky and Saki's for next season Mick and Ann Eaton.

Our second visit to the Tropical this year and we have stayed here several times before also. Once again we cannot find fault with the hotel, the staff, or the entertainment. We met up with friends who stayed here earlier in the year, and we had the best time. Sorry to say that poor Anastasios was not around due to his accident, but we managed a visit to the hospital to see him courtesy of our friends George and Eileen, (That was an experience driving through Thessaloniki !!)But it was great to see Sakis, Vicky, Vicky, George and Kammy again, they are all such wonderful people. We had some very late nights and some great karaoke times in the hotel, some people say that the hotel is noisy at night, well sorry people it was probably us !! In summery, we will do it all again next year, if we can manage to book rooms because everyone we know seems to want to stay here, and rightly so, the Tropical is a wonderful place. Credit to all the staff once again and thanks for helping us have such a great time.
