Resort was fine - didn't go out much, as all inclusive in the hotel with 3 small children, so no all night partying !!! There was a great big toy shop virtually next door to the hotel - great for bribing the kids with !! Would recommend a visit to the cross & the monastery on the hill - the views are stunning. Also recommend a trip to the water park at Faliraki. We hired a car from a shop in the resort for a few days - well worth it. Helps to keep 3 kids from getting bored over the 2 weeks. Recommend Rhodes to all.

Ixia is a safe place to holiday. Lots of shops, although all very similar. Locals are friendly. Transport is cheap and easy. Beach isn't very fine but perfectly usable and clean. Very close to Rhodes town so you can visit there very easily. Can't really comment on restaurants as we didn't eat out. We loved it and will definitely go back.

Ixia beach itself is nothing special but its the cooler side of the island and not far from Rhodes Town, and as we had hired a car, everything was in easy travelling distance. To be honest we were glad to be on the cooler side of the island in the May time.

Ixia isn't 'old greece' so don't expect to see white washed houses and cobbled streets and it really only plays host to lots of top quality hotels on the main strip.
In between the hotels there are lots of different restaurants, bars and shops. Its not a Kavos type of environment so if you looking to bar hop from one noisy 'fun' pub to another then steer clear of this resort. There are your sports pubs and music places but not on that swort of scale. Its more of a place to grab a meal and wander in and out of the bars.
What we liked about Ixia though was its close proximity to the beautiful old town of Rhodes with its cobbled streets, white washed properties, roof topped tavernas and markets. It was a 5 minute journey in a taxi and cost approx between 5-7 euros. For us this was ideal. On nights where we just wanted a quiet drink and a meal close in walking distance we could stay in Ixia and when we fancied having a good look round at what I would call 'proper Greece' then it was only a short taxi ride.
I'm not really a beach personbut the beaches looked clean and well looked after - more shingle then sand made up the beach near our hotel, but I wouldn't like to say this is the case across the whole resort.
We also found Ixia was a good place to travel from to see elsewhere across the resort. It has good roads, motorways etc that take you across the island.

The resort is actually Trianda, Ixia is further along the main road. Trianda is set back from the main road and has a very relaxed feel, although there is a good choice of taverna's and bars.

The resort of ixia is okay but i would say anyone with children would not be suited because of crossing the busy road, and the beach is very rocky ,having said this we loved the beach just watching the windsurfers and the cooling brezes where great especially in the midday sun

A varied amount of activities within easy reach, walking or by taxi.Trianta,Ialyassos and Ixia all roll into one another with plenty shops and pubs/restuarants to choose from

The resort was clean with a good selection of shops and restaurants not too big so did not get crowded. Rhodhes town and Faliraki are the places to go if you want a lively resort.
