The resorted consisted of a main road running past the front of shops, bars & hotels etc. This is a very busy road & is very dirty & untidy. The fumes from the traffic are ever present in the waking hours & could prove an irritant to some. As a consequence of the traffic the dust & noise levels are very high.
The pavements were a nightmare, huge holes, construction wires sticking up & generally in a poor state of repair. The area was dirty & untidy, one day we walked from the hotel to find a discarded computer thrown on a pile of other rubbish. It looked as though some piles of rubbish had been there for several weeks, smelt like it too! Needless to say it was there for the rest of our week. Shops & bars etc. were acceptably clean.
Resort entertaiment was poor. Restricted to a few bars & retaurants enticing you in by advertising the latest football matches. After one walk out in each direction of the hotel, max. of 15 mins. each way, you had seen everthing. Shops of course did have the same cheap tack in various colours. If you desparately need to know what is going on back home in your absence, you are in luck. Daily papers are readily available.
The so called beach was approx. 8 - 10 feet from shoreline to hotel walls etc. Very difficult to walk any distance from the hotel because of inaccessibility. The beach consists of pebbles only.
Not a resort I would choose again.

Ixia not a good place if you are looking for things to do. Nothing there at all.

Did not venture much outside the hotel, as we were all inclusive but a trip to the water park is a must, make sure you've got your walking legs on as its quite a steep walk between the rides/tubes! We also went on a boat trip to Lindos, and took a trip on the donkeys to the Accropolis - a definite must.

The resort was very quiet but we had a very large wedding party so soon livened it up. Each bar we went to was full by the time we all got seated. All inc. hotels and the rising prices since the euro have contributed to the amount of visitors but this place had its gems. Mollys in the square voted best english breakfast, Zorbas , outside the hotel the best snacks, run by Billy and Lisa, try the chicken giros. Knights of olde down the main path turn left at the end, superb meal and atmosphere run by scottish Dawn and greek Mikalis. They did us proud for the wedding reception and even gave us lifts home. Dawn got rid orid of the hawkers as soon as she saw them. The last mention goes to the Vrachos restaurant for a special occasion. Its a bit more expensive but a lovely experience. The beach is very shingly but a respite from the sun as the breeze is lovely. We will return to Ixia because it is greece at its finest, unspoilt and beautiful.

Ixia itself is not particarly large, but does have several restaurants, shops and a few bars within reasonable walking distance. Rhodes Town nearby does have a great deal of character. Beware of being caught by street timeshare people! They ask that you attend a short meeting for the Greek Tourist Agency but this turns out to be a hard sell for timeshare.
The beach is a stony one, but looked reasonably clean.

Ixia when we visited was apparently quiet compared with last year. The resort itself is fairly spread out but lots to do whether you walk or take a taxi to the bars and resteraunts. The beach isnt up to much but look around you will find the perfect one for you.

The resort is really now just part of the outskirts of Rhodes town and it costs 6 euros for a taxi in to the town so most people went there for shopping and entertainment. There are still, however, quite a number of restaurants and shops in the resort as well as a reasonably large supermarket.
The beach is shingle and very narrow.

very clean in general. All Greeks we met were extremely nice and could not do half enough for us. Hire a car and visit Presonnisi at the foot of the island where Aegean and Med meet. Dont bother with the butterflies. They sleep during the day or simply cant be bothered. We couldnt see them. Take a cruise to Lindos but book and haggle on the quay at Mandraki harbour for best prices. Taxi from Atlantica to Rhodes town ( which is must, especially the old town at night) 8euro of 9 if you phone. Basically 10euro inc tip. They will take a family of 5 ie 2A 3C
