The resort is a bit dirty, it is almost as if someone has taken some beautiful hotels, villas and plonked them in the middle of a builders yard.

Maybe that is a bit strong but it is looking a bit shabby. The resort entertainment again is a bit non existent due to the main happenings are all in Rhodes, or if you fancy it, which we didn't, Faliraki.

The beach at the hotel is very narrow, and I mean narrow 6' wide and it is very stoney, but go about another 10 feet into the sea and it is all sand beneath your feet.

No sharks seen but I did hear loads of Oboes being played !!!

It was quit clean, but typically greek, there was quiet a few bars in Trianda and Ixia.

Yhere was a go kart track and adventure playground for the kids in Trianda, and a mini golf course in Ixia.

The beach was very pebbly, didn't stay to long on it.

The resort of Ixia is poor to be honest - not a lot going for it and you will enjoy your holiday much better if you jump in a taxi in the evening and explore Rhodes Town. The hotel and the Hilton a couple of blocks up our the jewels in this resort - everything else I would say is below par.

I have to recommend a restaurant in Rhodes Town which is out of this world. It is a greek resturant run by a Scandanavian couple and was recommended by the hotel.

I cannot rember the actual spelling of the restaurant but it was somehting like Wanda. If you come out of the old town grounds at exit "Gate Ampaz" you will see a cross roads with tall gates in front of you to the right. Just to the left of these gates is a road called El. Venizelou the resturant is a 100 yards up on ther right.

You ahev to go there. I tried fillet mignon (20 Euros)and for starter goats cheese with beetroot - What a combination, but it works !
My 16 year old daughter is hooked on the mignon now and what a price.

Ixia is a lovely resort with some friendly bars and restaurants There is enough there to keep you entertained all evening.

Rhodes Town is only a short taxi ride away if you want a livelier night out.

Ixia is very much a busy road with a selection of beach shops and cafes. We did not really sample any entertainment in the resort other than crazy golf. The beach is pebbly but the water is clean and warm. Another plus is that a very short and inexpensive taxi ride will take you into Rhodes Town which is very much worth visiting.

The east coast is more sheltered so the seas calmer for younger swimmers etc.Would go again and at moment looking for offers to that area in the Easter period. There is a strong wind on this coast so the sea is rough but great for windsurfing etc. Swimming is a little fraught but stay within your depth and there should be no problems. Be wary of the breeze as you under-estimate the heat and need for hydration! There are plenty of bars and restaurants within a 20 mins walk in either direction along the sea front either towards Rhodes town or the airport so you should have plenty of choice if going self catering B&B etc.

We stayed in Ixia at the Hotel Oceanis. IT was a short bus ride to the old Rodos town. Although we were situated directly under the flight path and only a few kilometres from the airport the planes did not bother us.

The resort was friendly, not too busy and quite clean. The beach was excellent although you had to cross a main road to get to it. There were underground passageways. We had occasion to visit the hospital with our grand-daughter and the service was second to none.

Much better than the state of hospitals here and with virtually no waiting time. I cannot fault this resort in any way.

Ixia not really a resort, just a suburb of Rhodes.

Public beach good but with pebbles.

The restaurants/bars on the Ixia Strip in general are
welcoming and value for money.

Avoid Alexanderos, this is the worst place I have ever eaten. Service Very Poor, Cleaniness Very poor & NHS food.

Dimitrios Restaurant is the total opposite to Alex, the welcome is friendly, wide choice of Greek & international food, Value for money, kids area with small bouncy castle & playstation.

Ixia is a small resort with a very busy road running through it.

We found the restaurants clean and the food very good.

The beach is very poor, its mainly pebbles.

Very little entertainment on but we found a really good pub called Fatman Slims, very friendly English guy runs it called Ray, always made us feel really welcome and he likes to get to know everybody that goes in there.

Resort was lively with a number of bars & restaurants & was very clean. Beach not the best we'd ever been to but most of the time was spent in hotel pool.
