Kalaaki has something for everyone, from music bars, to a couple of take away joints to some top class restaurants. Kalamaki has the added attraction of being only a 15 minute from the airport, and is within easy reach of Argassi, Laganas and Zante. There is a regular bus service to all resorts, plus a free bus twice a day to St Nicholas' beach where there is an array of water sports on offer.
Your holiday can be as lively or as chilled as you like. Our favourite bars were the Shamrock, Drunk Corner sports bar and the Iguana. We ate in a different restaurant every night, and still didn't get round them all. Our favourites were Zeppos, Heavens Kitchen, Escape, Dias -and Michaelos for a more romantic setting.
The beach is narrow but there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. The beach cafe has a large menu, and prices are competitive. The sea doesn't look that clean on the shore, but once you waded out a bit it was fine.

Something for everyone in Kalamaki. From traditional tavernas to music/karaoke bars. Most of the bars and a lot of the restaurants line a long main street, with a few highly recommended restaurants tucked out of the way.
We stayed for a fortnight, ate at a variety of restaurants and only once did we find fault. There were so many restaurants that had we stayed an extra week, there'd still have been one or two more we wouldn't have time to try.
I only visited the beach once as tbh I wasn't very impressed with it. It was quite narrow and full of shells. The sea felt very slimy underfoot and until you waded a fair bit in, it was very undulating.
We caught the free bus to St Nicholas beach which was very pretty and more like a Greek beach although it had lots of watersports activities.
Kalamaki is a resort I'd visit again and seemed to cater for all age groups.

the resort is clean but we noticed a lot of shop bars were closed down due to the recession the beach is narrow but long you can walk to laganas in about 30 mins the resort entertainment was very sparse

Kalamaki was quieter than Laganas which was only a 5 minute drive away. There are plenty of bars and restuarants along the road and to be honest we ate in a few and never had a bad meal. One taverna that is worth a mention is The Olive Tree which we enjoyed the most. The beaches in the resort weren't as good as Banana Beach so we drove there most days.

The beach was great, I loved it especially as it was a turtle breeding beach.
Unfortunately you are not aloud to go to the beach during certain times to see the turtles but it is totally understandable considering that's the place where they lay their eggs.
Their are a wide range of restaurants in kalamaki so you will never go hungry!
Overall this was great too, I was more than happy with this holiday!
