Location
Our room was on the second floor, and was quite spacious and well equipped. The fridge coming in very useful during our stay. Our room was booked as a pool view, but as well as this it afforded good views out onto the beach and sea.
The hotel was advertised with English Satellite TV channels, but we found this consisted of a news, sports and film channel repeated on various channels with varying reception quality. The only small gripe with the room was the bathroom, which had a shower over the bath, though you had to be 4 ft to be able to fit under it, and it was prone to flooding the bathroom floor if you were not careful. Some of the fit and finish to tiles and fixings in the bathroom were also starting to show signs of wear and tear, so I do not know how this hotel will stand the test of time.
There was a maid service at least five times during our week there, and they always made a good job. The rest of the hotel was also well presented and clean, apart from the furniture in the dining room, which was upholstered in white, and had numerous wine and food stains from the season.
While on the subject of the restaurant, we stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, and were pleased we did not upgrade to half board. We only ate in the restaurant one evening, as the hotel offered a welcome dinner at half the usual price. While there was nothing wrong with the food, it was not typical Greek food, just a mixture of English dishes. We looked at the menu most evenings and found that the main meat dish tended to alternate between pork, chicken and beef. If you stay at this hotel, we would advise eating out in the town as there are numerous good restaurants offering proper Greek dishes at very afforable prices.
During our stay, we were witness to a quite spectacular thunder storm. This however showed up a deficiency in the hotel design, as a lot of the passageways did not drain properly, leaving some sizable puddles for guests to wade through.
We stayed on the last week of the season, so we expected the hotels entertainment to be winding down. Most of it was quite laughable, especially the keyboard music. We did however enjoy the Greek dancing night, which allowed all those that wanted (and some under protest) to get involved.
Overall, we really enjoyed the holiday, and found this hotel to be an excellent base to explore the island. If we went back to the island, we would definitely stay here again.

The Greek staff were very nice too.
The only down points - it was a nightmare trying to get a sunbed in the morning, you would think the hotel was full of Germans!!! But no its was all the Brits reserving their sunbeds at silly o clock, if you are up later then 8.45am then sorry you've missed the boat!! And sometimes people would not even bother using the beds they had reserved!!
The entertainment run buy the hotel was not what I would call good, more of a chance to have a laugh!!! (At the entertainers) apart from those 2 little points I had a brilliant holiday and would recommend staying there to anyone!!
The room was cleaned everyday, there were nice slippers and bath robes too use, even provided pool towels for you to use, 10/10 well worth the money, see you next year!!!

The entertainment was poor but at least it gave us something to laught at, especially that Sam and her caberet night when everything that could go wrong did!
The "Barmen" were not up to standard for this type of hotel, they just wanted to pull and have fun, maybe thats the right attitude, but I bet they won't be working there in 2005. I noticed the way the manager was watching them.
The food was excellent and we didn't bother to eat anywhere else.
The beach and the facilities were out of this world. The weather was hot and sunny all week.
The waitesses were very friendly and polite.
Tsilivi is an excellent resort and the Maris is the place to stay, especially when they sort out the entertainment & the showers! Would recommend this Hotel and resort and can't wait to go back again next year, or even this year if we get half a chance

Tried to use the advertised (and paid for) Jacuzzi bath in our superior delux room only to find it full of smelly, gungy water !! Not nice.
The Air Con didn't work properly either, however, after
a little TLC by my good self got it working OK.
As advertised and advised in the First Choice brochure, We tried, on arrival to book a late checkout room, Oh No!! Be warned, you cannot do this until the day of departure!! You have to wait until after breakfast before the staff will tell you if you can stay in your existing room or move to another. We didn't get either.
The Hotel, although shiny and new, is really soulesss and rather dull.
The entertainment is also dull and turning Zorba the Greek up to full volume doesn't make for a nice evenings entertainment, if youve been Greek islanding before then you will have seen it all before.
Kane & Able!! oh dear, nice voices though.
Beachside location is great and the room/hotel
Staff/cleanliness was fine.
The outdoor pool sunbeds are fully booked by 0700 so forget that (despite the rules that are pasted up!!) The pool actually feels a bit to small for this hotel and if you ever get a sunbed you will feel a bit like a sardine in the proverbial can.
The beach is nice and soft but really needs a tidy up at least once a month please! The constant pestering by beach bums selling fake CD's and shirts gets tiresome after 20 times a day. Sunbeds are currently 3 euros per day per bed.
Overall the hotel is reasonable and I guess will find itself an identity in a couple of years. The beach bar is the prime example of this. It is just a big room overlooking the beach and lacking completely in character, the staff and food are good though. Suggest popping next door to the Phoenix hotel beach bar as it has a much better feel to it especially during the day when the suns doing its thing. Nice.

The breakfast that was served was of a high standard and suited everbodies tastes, there was a wide variety of cold and hot food. Breakfast time was from 8am until 10am, this allowed plenty of time to fit in all your daily plans.
During the day this hotel had no planned entertainment, but with the facilities that they provided non was needed. The entertainment that was provided a night was OK if you like that sort of thing and fantastic if you liked a good giggle.
During our stay we found the hotel staff friendly, polite and very helpful.

Stayed on a half board basis, what can I say about the food...hmmmmm....the cold salad buffet had a good variety to chose from, you definitely won't starve but after two weeks of basically beef stew and roast pork on arriving home I went straight to the Chinese to kick start my taste buds again!!
The hotel rooms are spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. Television, fridge and kettle with tea and coffee, couldn

If we had known that the ENTERTAINMENT(?) was going on until midnight and that the bar carried on serving until turned 2.00 a.m. all on the Outdoor Patio area so that all the rooms overlooking the Patio or the Pool were subjected to LOUD NOISE during this time, we would not have been so anxious to book a room with a pool view. On 1 occasion, at 5.00 a.m. I had to go down to the bar with the Pool Table in it to ask the people playing pool, including bar staff, to show the guests some respect & let us have some peace 'n quiet to get to sleep.
Would we return in the future? - not unless we were offerd a free holiday.

when we got to our rooms they were spacious, clean , with a side sea view .
Hotel was situated on the beach which was good although the space was mostly taken up by beach loungers which were not owned by the hotel so you are required to pay 12 euros for two for the day.
The breakfast had a wide choice of fruit and cooked. We had heard from those who were half-board that the evening meals had become quite repetitive, so probably more advisable to go for the bed and breakfast option.
overall we thought that the hotel was lovely and we would go back again!

The hotel food was very basic, but sufficient. It would be better to run either as a B&B or All Inclusive basis. The selection was pretty much the same every evening, but it was palatable. The problem we found was that you had to buy water with your evening meal, which I thought was ridiculous. I can understand alcoholic drinks, but the fact that you had to purchase water, I felt was wrong.
Regarding the hotel staff, there were a lot of English (Scouse) people working at the hotel, who were reasonably friendly, but a few of them were a bit miserable. The Greek staff, however, were very hospitable and friendly. One couple had issues with the Manager, which we heard about from another couple who witnessed the event. The couple were upset about cockroaches in their room, so complained to the manager, he wouldn't move them, so they went to their rep, who immediately got the room changed. The manager allegedly saw the couple a day or so later and began shouting abuse at the lady, who burst into tears. He was angry because they had gone to their rep, even though he had not resolved the problem.
Regarding entertainment, what entertainment? One night they had a duo who were excellent and they pulled in a big crowd. The other times, it was the dodgy keyboard player and some greek dancers.
Overall the hotel was clean, reasonably friendly, but not totally 'adult focused' as the brochure suggests, there were lots of kids even for the first week in July. Even so it was quiet and the place was not overrun with people. It was in fact mainly english people, which is not always a good thing, especially when its the 'egg and chips' brigade.
So, if you can look beyond the negativity above, the hotel is worth the
