Location
On entering we found both were clean but basic. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed everyday thanks to Rita. Food was quite good on the whole good selection for breakfast and dinner.
Location was not good as it was in the residential area but you saw how the locals live. Staff we found were pleasant considering staff shortages and the rising heat.
Entertainment we didn't use as we were out everyday.

Absolutely dreadful - filthy run down all round.
Room we were allocated was absolutely filthy and flea ridden - the cot for my 1 year old son was a death trap and the we moved rooms immediately - new one not much better but at least it didn't have a filthy carpet (yes carpet) to contend with !
The lifts seemed like a death trap too so I avoided them.
To cap the holiday off (we all got sickness and t'other end troubles) I watched in horror as the pool man pressure washed all the dirt from the patio deck straight into the pool.
I also found Malta to be very dirty, unfriendly and would never travel there again.

We arrived with folk quite a bit older than us, which worried the kids a bit!
The hotel was very clean, rooms attended to every day, without fail, even sunday, towels changed each day too.
The staff were excellent, maintenance crew around all day long really so if any problems were needing sorting, they got done straight away, reception staff were very nice too!
The food was typical of a holiday abroad, no Warburtons bread and Kelloggs here! Just as to be expected really, European food, but we had no problems with it at all over the 2 weeks. Friends of ours stayed half board and they said food was fabulous, chips only served once during the 2 weeks! And different meat every day, very well cooked and presented.
The entertainment was 'interesting'! It featured mainly keyboard players accompanied by one of a few different singers, even a Danny DeVito look alike, who was really like him and quite good!
I think with it being May it was still geared up towards more mature folk and not really families, although they were building an outdoor stage for the summer programme, I believe, which should improve things, but that said, if like us you like to laze around the pool all day, we had no problems with going for a walk to find somewhere a bit more lively!
The hotel did liven up the second week and there were a few more kids around.
Overall, lovely hotel, nice food, fabulous friendly staff, excellent reps and beautiful weather!

The room was clean, smart, and well equipped (full size fridge, cooker, toaster kettle etc), with a lovely view over the trees and pool.
The hotel is very well situated, not at all remote, but not in a rowdy area either and is handy for shops, bars, restaurants, buses and seafront.
We enjoyed a very good complimentary breakfast (cereals, full English, toast, rolls, cheese, salami, juice, tea & coffee)
The room was cleaned daily and there seemed to be plenty of staff keeping the hotel public areas spotless.
Didn't really use hotel entertainment as we were out sightseeing etc

The hotel looked clean and the check-in took very little time at all. The room I had was more than adequate with plenty of furniture, it also included satellite TV with basic channels (more could be purchased for a small fee) The restaurant was well presented with a different menu each day, the food was nice and I could order a separate Childs meal if I wished in the mornings.
Breakfast was also of a high standard. The maids who cleaned the rooms were very thorough and when I had needed fault seen to it was seen to immediately. The hotel was located in a busy area with plenty of shops and restaurants and within a short walking distance to the beach and more shops.
The entertainment was adequate; it seemed to be aimed at the older age group, the most enjoyable act being Danny de vito, who also worked as a waiter at the hotel. The only downfall was that other than the swimming pools and the TV room there was nothing else available for children. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and this country, everyone was friendly and the staff are a credit to the hotel.
I would definitely go back to Malta and if the hotel catered more for children then I would definitely use them again; however at this time of year I feel it is best suited to the older age range.

The staff were always willing to help and had ready smiles, even at 1 am when two tiddly middle age ladies arrive back!!
The entertainment in Jacks bar catered for all tastes with our favourite being DannyJ Devito. He sang a good range of songs and added amusing jokes with it. Unfortunately we never did manage to see the first half of his act!
We would happily go back to the BHC.

When we arrived we were welcomed with a smile and given a complimentary breakfast for the following morning which we went to and enjoyed.
The male staff were friendlier than the female but if there was someone younger (not necessarily better looking may I add) to be served then you were in for a bit of a wait.
The towels were changed daily if they needed to be or not and the hotel was clean.
It was very relaxing as it was out of the way of all the noise it just goes to show that you should not believe everything that you read!

Our appartment was old the walls were dirty the air conditioning unit had dust all over it we had to take a brush to it to clean it.
Water started to pour out of the celling the bathroom was bogging, the bath was black and the paint was off the walls.
We had enough so we complained to the management. They did move us to a two bedroomed appartment which was completley different nicer in fact!!!
If you have booked and come make sure they put you in the left hand side of the reception area as these rooms seem better than the right hand side. We stayed in room 803 which was the bad room. All the management need to do is spend money and do the place up and it would be great.
I am sure it must of been nice when it opened in 1989 but I think it has been left since then. They are painting some areas of the complex at the minute but these are public areas where you can see.
One last thing I think that it is stupid people booking sun beds with their towels when it does state in the brochure that you can't do that, no one in the complex up holds this rule!!!! Plus the indoor swimming pool is closed and it does state in the brochure that it opens in September!!!!
All the best if you come and do complain if you are not staisfied with your room even tell your rep!!!

One receptionist to greet about ten families with only one pen to fill in registration cards. We were given two rooms at opposite ends of the hotel but at least they were on the same floor (level 6). The Green Mile sprang to mind.
I had to return to reception to ask where our cot was, the last thing you need with five tired children wanting to get to their beds. It did arrive fairly quickly.
The rooms were dank, dark affairs with three beds crammed into one room, two and the cot in another. My exhausted wife was in tears at the dirty condition of the rooms, rust stained bath, ant infestation amongst other irritations.
We perked up next morning with a complimentary breakfast and then visited our locale which was quite near to shops, bars, restaurants and bus station.
During our stay the main lift broke down and took nearly a week to repair. The daily trek up and down stairs with an infant, pushchair and children under ten was bad enough for us but some of the older residents were in obvious distress. On one occasion when the lifts were actually working they were unavailable as staff were "moving chairs" and were quite rude to guests, ourselves included, when it was politely suggested that the chairs be moved at a quieter time of day and not at breakfast.
One of our children unfortunately stained bedsheets and a bedspread with ink for which we were charged a cleaning fee which we happily paid. From that day to the end of our holiday one of the rooms had all the bedspreads removed and not returned and the beds only had their linen sheets on them.
The only nod to children in the complex was the small swimming pool. There was nothing else for them to do. Fortunately we knew Malta well enough to keep them entertained.
Being pestered by time share salesmen was also annoying. My recommendation to prospective visitors to Malta is to look around. There are far more attractive hotels on the islands that do not look as though they haven't been touched since the day they were built. The Maltese people as a rule are friendly, warm people but none of them seemed to be working at the BHC to which we shall never return.
