The resort was a nice clean place to be,and entertainment wise is not really a nightclub mecca as it only has bars and resturants,so if your looking for a BOOM BOOM nightclub style holiday try ST Julians Bay or Paceville. But the bars and resturants in the village all offer a good food choice and a good service. The beach in Mellieha is top notch with a sunbed and brolly hire 2 sunbeds and a brolly costing 10 euros for a whole day, also a host of watersports are on offer ranging from the good old bannana boat to the more extreme paragliding. Also the sandy beach and shore is great for children and familys as it stays shallow for quite some distance out,the beach is also kept tidy as it is cleaned at the end of each day.Mellieha is a great resort to stay in and visit and we will deffinately be coming back again in the near future!.

Melleiha is a lovely resort, lots of lovely restaurants but quiet. I would not describe the resort as lively, but being middle aged this suited us!!!The resort is relatively clean, although I did notice it was fairly grubby toward beach area.

The resort is clean and generally tidy, the hotel is on a main road,(sea view side) with a crossing to the beach, all bus stops are just outside the hotel. The resort is fairly quiet very few shops in the bay itself, you would need to go to Mellieha village for shops and resturants. The village is up a steep road and is worth getting the bus (bus No's from recep)a supermarket is about 100mts left out of the hotel at the Mellieha Bay complex and is open up to 7pm. The bus to the Gozo ferry is on the same side as the hotel, ferry is 4.90 euros return, when you land the No 25 bus will be waiting that goes to the Capital Victoria. The buses are timed from the Victoria Terminus to facilitate your return ferry (every half hour.) Boat trips to Comino and Gozo are available from Tunney Net Jetty, to right of hotel if you want to save money and go independently.

The resort was very hilly for infirm tourists with avery steep walk on the way back. Make sure you catch a 46 on the way back up at 58cents or you will be charged 1euro 16 on others but the restaraunts all provied excellant menus, although based mostly on Pasta meals & Pizza(Italian). The fish menu's were wonderful. The beach area looked clean and Popeye village is a must to see, which is about 1 hours walk and you do see the proper Malta on that walk. They use windmills to pump up the water and keep goldfish in the tanks.

A very quiet resort that I expect would be pleasant in Summer. Pretty remote and you had to be prepared to use the bus or hire a car. At the time we visited there was no beach entertainment (We did not expect any)

The resort of Mellehia is very good, also clean, and if you want a quiet holiday away from the noise of nightclubs, etc, it is ideal. Buses stop outside regularly, so it is very easy to get anywhere on the island from there for no more than 50 cents. Nice sandy beach there too.

Mellieha is a quiet pleasant town, suitable for people looking for a relaxing holiday. Nice choice of restaurants, sandy beach, quaint shops. However it is very hilly, although there are cheap local buses that operate every 10 mins throughout the town to various locations, inlcuding the beach. It also lacks entertainment on a night.

Not suitable for young people or families looking for a lively or entertainment filled town - try Buggibba or St Julians instead. Also not really suitable for people with disabilities due to its hilly nature.

The beach at Mellieha bay was packed, especially at weekends, when the locals came to visit, but it was peak season & to be expected.
If you like, or wish to try SCUBA diving, Aquaventure diving have an office at this hotel, but are based at the other side of the bay. Each day they will pick you up & drop you off & take you on some great dives, the set-up is good & they are well organized.
The air temperature was 32c during the day, & the water was 26c...great for diving.

Mellieha bay is not lively at night, so if its night life you are after, try somewhere else.
Malta has some very historic sites & is well worth a visit.

Melieha is a busy, attractive town in a very pleasant area of Malta. The main street on which the hotels, restaurants and shops stand, can be very busy and noisy at times, but this didn’t spoil our stay there.

There are plenty of places to eat and shop in Melieha Village with a fairly wide range of restaurants and different food styles available. There are several hotels and other accommodations in Melieha which also offer restaurant, bar and bistro facilities. There are also acouple of pubs and a car-hire firm in the village.

The very pleasant Melieha Bay and beach is about half a mile from the village and can be reached easily, and at small cost, by means of the frequent, local bus service. Sunbeds and parasols can be hired on the beach and there are several places to eat.

Nightlife is low-key and is centered around the pubs, bars and restaurants near the beach and in Melieha Village.
