Our room was cleaned every day. The hotel is very tired looking and in need of a good facelift in all departments.

Food was simple but not too bad but not too tasty.

Location was handy for bus station and promenade. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I cannot comment on entertainment as we never went to any.

On the whole the holiday was value for money as you get what you pay for, we certainly didn't think it was as bad as some reports and we never saw anything that crawls anywhere.

I was thinking on my flight home about how to write my review - I knew I wanted to write one after reading so many comments on the internet about this hotel, after I booked my holiday.

I want to be as fair as I can and I want to be as accurate as I can.

I love Malta, this was my 29th trip. I am 37 I went with my partner and my parents.

Malta Bargains got us to Malta on time and were efficient at getting us to the hotel. The low floor rooms I requested for my parents were not there - He is arthritic and a diabetic -

Problem one, The ladies toilet had leaked, I was told on complaining that it was only water and not to worry - The stain reeked of urine. In one week that stain got bigger and wetter. They only once hung an "out of order" sign up. Which people promptly ignored. I insisted my room was changed.

The room my parents had to suffer for one night was intolerable. Next to the gent

I've just got back from the Palm Court and as always I had a really good time, I love staying there because the people are more fun there then any over hotel I have stayed at in Malta. Don't get me wrong I have stayed in nicer looking hotels but the Palm Court is so cheap to stay there and it's more fun!

I've been to Malta about 20 times, stayed at the Palm Court about 10 times and 2 of them times were for 6 weeks and yes I will be going again very soon!

We stayed at the Palm Court on half board for seven nights. It was our first time abroad and we found the staff very pleasent. On arrival with out asking we were offered another room if we were not satisfied with the one allocated. We did not see any point in changing. Our rooms were cleaned every day. We overlooked the pool area and it was cleaned twice daily.

There was a wide range of food which was well cooked and there was plenty of it. The only fault was that there was no fresh fruit on the menu while we were there.

We found that the hotel was central enough for us to find our way round. We went with family who had been there before so they were able to show us around.

We were not interested in the entertainment as we went out every night for walks and sitting in a bar night after night is not our idea of a holiday.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Palm Court Hotel (Malta). A bargain bucket holiday was booked with Malta Bargains and we could not knock it. The hotel is getting on a bit but for the money we paid we were more than happy.

It was clean enough and the food was good (especially the evening meal) and the staff more than happy to help where possible. The outside pool was clean as well as was the indoor heated one albeit a tad small and in need of a refurbishment.

If you are used to the quality end of the market then this is not for you. If however you need a cheap break and are not too fussy and picky then look this place up. We are considering going again as it was cheap and acceptable and brilliant value for money.

Palm Court Hotel.

Very filthy, bedding not fit for a dog to use. Bathroom tiles badly chipped and cracked, toilet pan black and smelling of urine. Towel had to be put on bathroom floor, as it was not cleaned all week.

Food not very good so we ate out most days. Corridors not cleaned, carpets smelly. We agree it is a budget holiday but that does not mean it has to be filthy.

Malta is a nice, clean and friendly island and we would go again but not to this hotel, or any other Maltabargains hotels.

Lets put the record straight about the Palm Court Hotel.

The Palm Court Hotel is situated in the popular part of Quawra, close to all facilities & the main bus station, where you can get to anywhere on the island for around 60p. It is a large older style Maltese hotel,a bit 'dowdy' but offering basic rooms with all the required facilities; clean bedding, daily cleaning service, colour TV (4 sat chanels in english) large ceilng fan & air conditioning. Some of the corridors are a bit gloomy, but this is the style of older hotels. The staff are friendly & responsive to any problems you have & do their best to help. As a guide, the rooms are simmilar to turkish 3* standards.

Half board (eat as much as you want) seems to be the most popular choice, and the buffet (full english) breakfast & evening meals are of a high standard & offer a wide choice of mostly english cuisine, with some pasta/curry/sweet & sour alternatives plus a wide salad choice. A quality comparison would be going to a typical pub for a sunday lunch--buffet style. The restaurant is a large dining room with 3 flexible sitting times, which seem to work quite well.If you want waiter service or to be fussed over at meal times-go somewhere else to stay--otherwise enjoy this buffet experience! The picture(s)on Malta Bargains web site are accurate & give you an idea of the main hotel facilities.

The main bar is well stocked and cheap and offers modest entertainment every night; vocalist, kareoke, disco etc, and during season there is other entertainment within the complex (line dancing, bingo etc) Other hotels in the area offer entertainment and most welcome your custom with no entry charge. Just round the corner is a country & western bar with live acts, a short walk & there is big money bingo and in many bars along the front Elvis still lives! The centre at Bugibba (short promenade walk) has cafe bars to suit all ages & is very family orientated.

As in life, you get what you pay for with a holiday; If you follow the Malta Bargains internet site, you will find some incredibly low prices; you will typically pay between a

Myself and my partner and a friend of ours stayed at the Palm Court hotel in Malta in may 2005.

We all found it to be a very good hotel for the money that we paid.

The food was of a high standard and the staff were all very helpful.

I thought I would have to comment on some of the comments that have been made by other people.

Some people are never satisfied what do people expect you get what you pay for.

I myself accompanied by my partner and Friend will be returning to Malta in a few weeks and I for one hope that it is back to the Palm Court hotel.

We have stayed in the Palm Court for the past 10 years, as it has been said you pay for what you get. It was just a base for us and we found it ok.

What has really disapointed me this year is this,
we had booked to go as usuall in May, but my husband was fast tracked to have a knee replacement operation, and was told he could not fly for at least 3 months after.

I rang up Malta Bargains to ask if we could change our dates for our holiday and informed them why. It would have been possible for us to have our holiday in Sept or Oct, they said they did not allow people to do this, we would loose our deposits and have to re-book again.

We were very disapointed with this after 10 years loyalty this is how they treat you! We have even told people when asked that the hotel is alright as long as you don't expect too much. They have a loyalty scheme as well at the hotel, but even that means nothing if you are ill or have to go into hospital.

So don't book with them, because loyalty means nothing to them at all, we just wanted to postpone our holiday to a later date.

I stayed in Palm Court last year (things may have improved since though I doubt it) I went knowing the hotel was a little shabby and was a budget holiday which was fine, but on arrival my impression of the place quickly hit rock bottom.

On the way to our room the corridor was smelly and had dirty classes left on the floor, the door to our room looked like it had been forced open on more than one occasion.

Our room had air conditioning but wired in so badly it didn
