Another very cheap diving holiday in Malta thanks to Palm Court. Rooms are basic and clean. Food is edable, Staff are friendly if you dont shout at them like some holiday makers did that week. You do get what you pay for. I have stayed in 5* hotels and paid for them. I also organise a diving holiday to the Palm Court every year and pay very little. We as a group are counting the weeks down to our return on 11th September 2008. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is on a budget and also to the diving community. No funny looks when your carrying your diving equipment through reception each evening. Best of all the airline staff are great no quibbles over extra luggage allowance for diving equipment. 8KG each.

PS Dont forget to visit Fat Harry's Bar, Great entertainment

We have just returned from 9 days at Palm Court Hotel despite reading many reviews from many review sites and I believe that we had a good value holiday overall. Ok, there were things about the hotel, service, food etc that I could complain about all day but, in my opinion, we went there expecting a very basic service and it was possibly below our expectations. Nevertheless we made the most of what we got and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were horrified and even went out that evening trying to find another hotel nearby to move to. Being peak season, unsurprisingly, there was nothing available so we thought, "ok then, lets get on with our holiday!"

Our room was on the 4th floor and was cleaned every day. Fresh towels would be provided if necessary(you just leave your dirty ones in the sink and they will be replaced), bed linen was changed daily also. We were a bit disappointed that we were all in one room but it as fairly big and, when all is said and done, when the temperature every day is 30 degrees plus, who sits in their hotel room every day? There was air conditioning that was available 24-7 which leaked a bit of water but that was not an issue.

The food: Upon first inspection, we were not particularly impressed with the restaurant but you had plenty of choice, 2 roast meats every night, plenty of salads and a different menu every day. I have to say, being out and about every day, despite being all inclusive, we didn't lunch at the restaurant so can't comment on that.

It was a bit of a pain having to queue twice for drinks (once at reception to get your card swiped and then at the bar) but again, that was not a major issue for us. There was plenty of variety of drinks available on the all inclusive package and unlimited ice cream and crisps etc for the kids.

The hotel itself is very dated, very tatty and is in need of a good overhaul (this has been mentioned many times) but we believe that we got what we paid for. Taking 2 teenage kids with us, we were effectively 4 adults and 1 child and for

Booked a last minute break at the Palm Court, booking procedure relatively easy once the agent understood my accent.
Flights on time, basic, in flight meals provided, usual stuff.
Hotel expectations worse than the reality, true you get what you pay for. Maids did not clean every day, contrary to other reports. She did make the bed and replaced towels when required, however many towels left were paper thin and unusuable. Bathroom not cleaned all week and damp smells caused by lack of ventilation. Only tepid water to shower all the time we were there. However air con worked ok and well used.
Although half board, restaurant was not inviting enough to try it out, although those who did eat in seemed to cope ok.
Large, rambling hotel in need of a lot of tlc. Hotel location ok for buses so we went out every day. Did not use pool, restaurant, bar or entertainment.

we set off to the palmcourt with some trepidation after reading many reports and even thought about cancelling. on arrival offered two rooms two young teenage children very unhappy about this.hotel staff however soon arranged two extra beds in a large room with a balconey that over looked the sea. the air conditioning worked superbly the staff where couteous and polite and considering the stick that some people were intent on giving them helpful.the room was cleaned beds made every day towels replaced if you left them in the bath some were petty thin. the restuarant was very hot and stuffy however the food was good and plentiful try feeding two hungry teenagers who have been siming all day its like feeding loucust. we only used the hotel swimming pool once, the malta .com reps were very good and offered sound and uesful advice if you want a good base to explore malta then this is a good value hotel afterall we had a fortnight in malta on half board for less than we had a weekend away in the u k the sun shines all day everyday if you want 5 * service stay away my only complaint would be that some parents should take more control of their children teenagers as large gangs in the foyer can seem very imtimitdating to some elderly people

We we have stayed at this hotel a total of 10 times.

It is low cost and this must be remembered. However, its clean, in a great location, food is top notch, staff are helpful and friendly. As with all of Malta they love children.

We will keep going back.

I came back from Malta today. I went on the internet site of this hotel to seee what attracted people to go there, the reason is the pictures make it look luxury!!!

It is almost unhealthy! Heres some things.
The sheets didn't fit the bed properly.

Only the double bed (out of 1 single, 1 double) Had sheets on it.

We had 2 pillows for 3 beds and only 1 had a cover on it.

The food was 1 lm 60 for a meal and it was worse than any state school dinner.

Mould in the bathroom. Ripped shower curtain. Only 4 coat hangers.

The lifts didn't work (got stuck in one for around 2 minutes alone without any lighting or anything.

The staff where ignorant.

It was unhealthy living conditions!! I didn't dare to shower in the hotel we wen't to our friends to shower or use the loo!!

It is horrible never go there how ever cheap it is!!

On arrival we tried to eat dinner, it was so disgusting, we never ate any other meal at the hotel despite being all inclusive.

We have never gone all inclusive where you wear a wristband, then you have a swipe card for drinks and a separate card to show at dinner.

They did not allow you to have a pint of soft drinks but you could have a pint of beer??? They made you queue twice. You go to recepiton and queue for ages to get a ticket for a drink, then you have to queue at the bar again!!

During our holiday, we heard of about 17 break ins where the rooms had been ransacked and burgled.
So be warned and beware and keep all your valuables with you.

No balcony, despite advertising that all rooms have balconies.

The hotel does not deserve 1 star, it needs closing down.

The staff were very rude and were not very helpful. Perhaps it is because they have had that much verbal about the state of the hotel, they are on the defensive. I asked for the Manager but they told me he was not there and would not tell me when he would be.

The entertainment was not very polished and quite boring.

I will never go there again. People say that you get what you pay for but we would not have booked had it not been advertised as 3 star.

Why people go back again, I will never know.
