I've been to Cancun before but both times have been after a hurricane has hit, so the beaches were not brilliant (lots of seaweed - which I hate unless it's deep fried from a chinese restaurant). The shopping malls vary from excellent to a bit blah (La Isla is the best but wear comfortable shoes as it's massive).

A must is Co Co Bongo - what a fabulous place! You pay around $40 for the night and that includes all your drink.
We were located on the beach, which was just how it looked in the brochure with its beautiful white sand.
The weather was really good in the mornings, about 2pm it would cloud over, but that did not spoil any fun as you can spend the afternoon in the swim up bar!

i would vist cancun mexico again but nearer to downtown beaches are nice and clean wet and wild has got to be must well worth money

The resort is still getting over the hurricane, but this are been repaired we saw a big differance this time
cocobongos EXCELLENT
peir 42 was a morning to remember if you like street market and are willing to be bugged by stallholder every step you take go to peir 42 but I perferred the bigger malls.
the Pirate night on the Isla Mujeres is excellent too

I loved Cancun's nightlife I would recommend all the clubs out there especially Coco Bongos and The City which were our favourites. $25 for entrance into a club (as The City was) with free drinks all night is well worth it and I'm not talking about local spirits either.
The music in all the clubs is a bit samey i.e chart stuff but with the amount of free drinks you will of had you'll dance to anything!!
I would definately recommend Cancun to anyone it has a great vibe and we're already looking at holidays there for next summer.

I'll be honest Cancun itself is a party town at night and quiet during the day and is probably only suitable for the young age range! So we made the most of it. Coco bongo is a great cabaret show for all ages and is combined with a night club.
There were two shopping centres, but these were not excellent. Theres also a wall mart (asda) there too. To be honest we stayed at our hotel throught the day if we wernt on the trips, and mostly at night too, but we did go into the centre at night for clubs and pubs!
Cancun is clean, the beaches are fab but if your not into clubs and pubs at night then id stay away.

Cancun was brilliant!! we loved it it has so much to offer. the only thing I would say is that the heart of cancun is very americanised with a TGI fridays and hardrock cafe etc but we also visited downtown Cancun which felt like real Mexico and had the most amazing food - it was definitely worth venturing a little further.
The beach is beautiful and the whole resort we found very clean, there is still ALOT of building work going on in cancun after the hurricane but that should be finished soon and to be honest because the resort is so great we didnt even notice!

The resort is great. It has recovered well after the hurricanes with most areas up and running again. There are lots of shops and bars and loads of excursions and outings to attend. We were never bored and had a great time on our outings.

The resort was very clean the staff were always making sure everyhting was tidy and clean. The beach was great but the sea not that swim-able as too much seaweed, but the beach is great for romantic walks with the one that you love. if you visit anywhere go to xel-ha (sorry if spelt wrong) also if you like speed boats do the jungle tour it was great the best trip we did.
